  • JOE T IS THE BEST GUITAR PLAYER I BELIEVE TODAY.HE CAPTURES THE AUTHENTIC FEELINGS OF CLAPTON-BECK-PAGE-HENDRIX-BLOOMFIELD,AS NO OTHER COULD POSSIBLY DO.PLAYERS LIKE JOHN MAYER,KENNY WAYNE AND OTHER WANNABE LEGEND GUITAR-PLAYERS----ARE A FRACTION OF WHAT JOE T IS.

ALSO THIS IS THE BEST CROSSROADS LESSON VIDEO IN THE WORLS.

I BELIEVE-EVEN CLAPTON HIMSELF ,COULDN'T PLAY THIS SONG AS GOOD AS MR. JOE T THE ENGLISH BLUESMAN.

  • I wish I could learn this guitar solo as easy as I could learn piano. My dad can play it though!! :D I shall learn off him weeee!!! thsank you dad for being an amazing guitarist who can pick things up by ear!!!!

  • Very well done .

  • Thank you for this video. One of my students wanted to learn this solo and we figured it out together by watching your video. You are very talented.

  • Really great - very enjoyable and well done. Very impressive playing plus your tone was superb. I've been playing Rock/Blues for nearly 40 years and wish I could play nearly as well! Lovely paint job on your SG too (from what I could see) Many thanks to you for this video.

  • That's the best version of Crossroads by a mile !! thanks !

  • NO ONE CAN PLAY THIS SONG LIKE JOE T, I DOUBT IF EVEN CLAPTON CAN.

  • Where did you get that Guitar?

    Priceless

  • great, im a big clapton fan, that was perfect, you made it look easy. tone souns just like him

  • your guitar makes me smile

  • Absolutely note perfect Crossroads solos. Top marks fella! 5 stars.

  • ..and I agree, this is the most authentic Crossroads solo lesson I've ever seen, and there are a couple of good ones.

  • Awe Dude, that was so good. Finally someone who can really play that solo. It was right on! I've got the first 24 bar solo pretty much down, but I hope you don't mind if I plilfer the second 36 bar solo from you. Probably one of the nicest pieces of work on YouTube..

  • wow

  • Dude you are a "mutha and a half" Wailllllll---innnnn. Note for note at that. Where you playing live? Would love to hear ya in a club. Please check out my site on youtube where I play tribute to Brother Duane, Eric in the Beano period, B.B. and my Dad. My channel is: johnnyguitar335

  • gotta love that pentatonic lol

  • hi friend! please do check out my cover of eric clapton's version of crossroads..will appreciate your comment, thanks a lot!

  • This is Fantastic The Guitar and this listing.

The 1968 Recording of this song was done at Winterland

  • This is by far the best performance on Crossroads after Eric.Note for note. You´re obviously a mature musician.;)

  • Spot on! Fkn A good show!

  • gee it sounds just like the record..............

  • Thanks for the lesson Joe. I have been playing my own version of that solo for a long time and still learned a couple of riffs where I was off. You can see a couple of my clips on my channel - I play this style regularly and Clapton was a big influence for me.

  • @EJwannabe hey--you play very well--i love thrill is gone and your sound--is great----sound is a major factor-and you have it----keep up the great work**JOE~T*ENGLISHBLUESMAN**

  • Clapton/John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers era stuff is great. Hideaway was one of the first songs I tried to tackle.

  • IM LEARNING MORE OF IT EVERY DAY JOE T.

    THANKS,,,,BWV.

  • Thankx again EBM for nailing all the 'little licks' that make this tune flow.

  • Question. This SG. Did you have it painted this way or did you get it from someone like Ed Roman who sells a reproduction of the original that Clapton played? There is a lot of speculation as to where the original is at. Todd Rundgren is supposed to at least have had it at one time. It would be worth a million dollars or more. It is easy to see that you love the music of this time, as I do. It's great fun, isn't it? Go to "Grande Ballroom" and listen to Cream and others from the late '60

  • Very good job in nailing it. Yes Clapton played it different every time he performed it but luckily they recorded it the time he played it this way. Every part fits just right with the rest and it burns just at the right moments. The very same goes for Sunshine of Your Love. The studio recording of the lead is perfect. When I have performed both pieces over the years, I play them this way. It is what everyone is used to anyway. I play Layla like the 1985 live version with Phil Collins.

  • Great solo, to the Note!, and on an SG Great Job.

  • GREAT!!! Thanks for posting!

  • Alright im very confused because when i try and play along to the record or anything else it soundds as if its tuned up a half step? on fret i know its not my guitar please help! btw when i tuned it up it sounded correct i was thinking maybe the recorsing was sped up

  • @phallystorm you are 100% right.

  • PLEASE GIVE SLOW LESSON FOR SOLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hey englishbluesman, does Clapton know about you?

    well,if he dont, he should.

  • Hey Joe T, Perfect!!! Now can you do it in slo- mo so we can copy it? lol Johnny in NYC.

  • @goodfella4759 ill see what i can do--jt

  • This was recorded at the Royal Albert Hall, not the Fillmore.

  • @Malendrinu this was recorded at the FILLMORE WEST,CALIF.

the record it first was on was ,WHEELS OF FIRE.

it states where it was recorded.

  • beautiful, eloquent and to the point. plus, whoever was talking about the pinky, has a point

  • @pikiwiki clapton is one of those guys who hardly ever,if at all, uses his pinky when playing lead.

    rhythm wise--all the time--

  • @englishbluesman okay. makes you wonder if page did.

  • @pikiwiki oh yea--page and beck -both

  • @englishbluesman what has impressed me most about your rendition of crossroads is how spot on it is. I would think this exactitude might come either for knowing it note for note, or simply understanding which scale boxes clapton uses. my playing has suffered for not clearly understanding exactly what I'm doing- it sounds nice, but I don't think I can reproduce it note for note on a second run.

  • I like the finish on your guitar! :D

  • @SmithVlogs youd never believe how i did it.jt

  • @englishbluesman I have an SG copy that I've been thinking of using to try and copy Clapton's - can you tell me/us the secret?

  • @WestbouneDave thnx Joe - gobsmacked at how authentic it looks.

  • awesome, mate! just started to work on this number. your vid's gonna help a lot!

  • i often wonder if,Clapton has seen this.

I'm quite sure if he did,he would contact you and ask you to be a guitar player in his band.

and I'm also quite sure -people like John Mayer,Joe Perry, and hundreds of others who think their on Clapton's level,-

would kill for your talent and expertise and dont ever want you in the mainstream because their fans would soon turn to you,as their guitar hero.

    see ya B-W-V

  • that was very cool ....

  • Wow man, it really looks like your not even trying.

  • @NobGoblin100 -SENT YOU AN EMAIL-READ IT-JOE T

  • @NobGoblin100 Sounds like it too.

  • perfect job my friend!!!

  • @mistervicenteblues **thanks man**joe~t**

  • I notice you do not use your pinky finger in this? Interesting. I havea very hard time controlling that most "independent" of digits so this gives me hope re: an alternate finger patter I can use to get around my main weakness. Thanks for posting this.

  • @Shafeone

Spend a few days just working on using your pinky and by the end of the week you will wonder how you ever got without using it. Takes time and training but its NECESSARY to use it to be versatile and have speed. Eventually you will need to learn to use it so better do it soon than later.

  • Lovely work, nicely done. Ignore the CL nitwits. Welcome to Texas, hope to catch you playing somewhere live sometime!

  • Good Stuff!

  • nice guitar i love it

  • that`s "how to play crossroads".

the most akkurate version i found in the web

(in terms of "how to move the fingers" AND "got the feel")!

  • @animoceria .

    hi its blues-woman.

    i fully agree.

maybe, thanks to JOE T ,i mite learn how

    to really play this.

  • just great man

    really groovie

    five stars

  • superb.. that's the type of lesson i like, watch and learn. Thanks

  • i dont believe in that----

its the downfall for many guitarists--

i have seen this over and over again--

learn and play from the heart and the eyes.

    ***JOE~T***ENGLISHBLUESMAN***

  • listen closely. you hear Bruce-Baker and ME.-Clapton is so faint under me.

thats my SG giving that English sound im known for .

    believe me-if i wasn't the dominating guitar,it wouldn't be on here.

    anyway-its a free lesson.**JOE~T**

  • Ii always use capitals--im not yelling--Joe t

  • HEY CARLFIA----ITS JOE T--

COME SEE ME PLAY IT LIVE IN MY TRIBUTE CALLED,**JOE~T's* ERIC CLAPTON*POWERHOUSE BAND**.

NOT ONLY WILL YOU SEE AND HEAR THAT, YOU'LL HEAR THINGS YOU NEVER THOUGHT COULD BE PLAYED OTHER THAN BY ERIC CLAPTON HIMSELF---.FROM- BLUESBREAKERS-POWERHOUSE-YARDBIRDS-EARLY CREAM-SPECIALITY CREAM-DEREK AND THE DOMINOES"LIVE"-AND OTHER THINGS NO OTHER TRIBUTE WOULD EVEN TOUCH.." REMEMBER " CARLIFA , ---IM NOT CALLED THE ENGLISHBLUESMAN FOR NOTHING.***JOE~T***

  • absolutely perfect.
