Salsa has African-American influence via jazz, while hip hop has Caribbean and Latin influence, so........ There is a lot of misinformation about African culture, but it goes both ways.

I am a black woman born in a latin country and there are many others like me. you probably confuse us with Africans,west Indians or Jamaicans because of our accent or African American if we do not have one. some of the countries that have blacks other than Brazil are Panama, Peru, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica.
