  • this was the best version i could find in the first couple pages of my search.

  • great!

  • put your glasses back on

  • Kim, you are a truly promising singer and your guitar work is sparkly and zingy. you have a powerful, gutsy voice, which is bang on the note all the time. You have verve, dash, elan, brio. Keep at it.

The ONLY criticism is you don't sing the actual melody the way McCartney wrote it. The key note is on the word 'through' in the phrase 'I'm lookin' through you' - he sings it higher. HIS version is what makes the song great; it's a kind of electric dissonance. You should put it back in.

  • @broxmouth Thank you for your kind words! I took a listen to the original version to see what you meant about the original melody. As far as I can tell, I am singing the "correct" note, just transposed to a different key. That "electric dissonance" you're looking comes from the sung harmony and the other instrumentation. Also, if I was playing a guitar chord that was in anyway different from the recording, that would explain it as well. I could be wrong though.

Hi Kim, I listened to it about four times and the difference is in the note you sing on the second syllable of 'look -ing' - its the 'ing' bit. sounds like you are flattening the note - McCartney's sounds higher. '

Its no big deal - perfectly acceptable as your interpretation - music flows and meanders/ changes. Your rendition is still great! That guitar of yours sings like a laser, what make is it?

  • @broxmouth the guitar is a Taylor 210e

  • @broxmouth Hey I can vouch for her that she is hitting the correct note. you might be confused by the harmony which is on top and higher pitch which bends simultaneously. You could also think you're hearing the pitch bending up an octave when he does it, this is not the case. Singers rarely do this and Paul is definitely not doing that in this song.

  • Very nice cover, almost has even more of a countryish feel to it, you have a very good voice, I like it!

  • @ANewAccount43 Thank you! I do have somewhat of a folk/country lilt to my voice so this makes sense.

  • yeah..!!

  • great!!

  • Sir Paul certainly wrote this with someone like you in mind!

  • You nailed it!! :)
