I just test drove one today and its the sickest truck ever, it's insanely fast for its size and is more bad ass than pretty much anything else on the road.
Wow, it's the best modern truck. I like the macho decals like the 79 and 80s power wagons had. Wish it had black rims like the 77 and 78 macho power wagons.
If you'd told someone in 1968 that someone would use a Hemi for rock climbing, they probably would've called you crazy. Still, I have to say the new Ram power wagon is my favorite truck in the world at this point. A lot of that simply comes from the fact that in the world I grew up in, we relied heavily on my dad's '77 Power Wagon, which is now looking at 450,000 miles.
Now, for a real challenge, let's see the Ram tackle 7-Up outside Brown's Camp here in Oregon. Good luck.
@yetilikesbeer live in arizona?lol dads was a $400 130k mile 93 d250 which is the last year before the radical change in apperance but had typical rust. it ran very well with the fuel injected 5.9 magnum(360cubic inch). it was setup for heavy hauling and we had sum serious weight in it b4. it had helper springs in the rear to help with weight which also lifted the rear sum so pops put 33 inch genaric mud terrain tires on it and it could burn them off at will and it was 2 black marks everytime!
@BLACKLACDTS Nope 1.5 hrs northwest of Edmonton Alberta. But it wasn't used to much in the winter. There is rust coming through the front lower edges of the box were the rocks beat the paint of due to the fact that it has been sitting for 9 years.
@yetilikesbeer i love those style dodges cause of the 2 my dad owned i know there tuffness and i always catch myself lookin for them for sale on the internet. lol i will find a nice 1 one day and own it.
@AWDfreak 3+ ton. They are heavy. Yah and the manual is even getting harder to come by on the work truck lines. 4500 and 5500 are about a 6 month wait with the 6spd manual minimum up here.
Impressive how such a heavy machine will move so effortlessly

7up is insane, poorboy offroad sponsors it right? I was there when it was raining, looked impossible without a winch.

Speaking of winches, isn't an off-road bumper and winch available through the Mopar parts catalog?

@MPLSTORM but be honest the bodys are probaly shot! my dad had 1 that was tuff as a tank but the body was fallin off it.
BLACKLACDTS 1 year ago
@BLACKLACDTS Exactly. The engines are tough, but the body and interior are like, oh ok thats good enough...

@BLACKLACDTS The body of my 77 was mint. No rust, no nothing........... untill I met a Mustang. I will rebuilt it.
Stock except for the previous owners swapped out the 318 for a 68 360 interceptor and put on a roll pan. She had power, but with a price 7 mpg.

That was amazing. I wish i had a power wagon.
Philip8510 1 year ago
yeah, that was insane. It amazes me that a 2+ ton vehicle could go up such obstacles, and with such ease!
Yeah, I wish I had a Power Wagon too. Sadly, it's not available with a manual transmission. :(
