  • i guess me parents would have been dead imma smart ass lol he woulda been gettin told off

  • Reasonable person would have called the police right away when her husband brought home a supposedly homeless orphaned child.

  • @cman2318, I realize the wife didn't know her husband kidnapped Sam, but surely she's not clueless enough to really think you can just take a homeless orphan in like a stray cat and claim him as yours. Even if he doesn't have anyone to care for him, you still have to go through legal procedures. I know the poor lady was emotionally unstable, because of her son's death, but come on, did she really believe they could just keep some random child her husband found on the street? Any reasonable pers

  • Diff'rent Strokes really jumped the shark when Maggie and Sam joined the cast. Mr. Drummond should have paid the family who kidnapped Sam to keep him. Sam was like Oliver of The Brady Bunch. He was a jinx who got the show canceled.

  • @Jefgg : Perhaps. However it went from bad to worse when Dixie Carter left the show and was replaced by whomever this was. Terrible acting here.

  • @PD1981 Well, he only did it because of his wife's being upset over their son's death. Still it was wrong. He should've insisted they go into therapy.

  • Oh, he brought the Bible into it... Not cool, man, not cool

  • Creepy as shit.

  • 6:40 - if that was in All in the Family there'd be a huge laugh track go off right thar!

  • huge absence of laughing recordings this time around

  • my favorite part is wondering WHAT THE HELL the kid is doing with the pet food?? for plot reasons he obviously needs to just stand there, but he kind of picks up the bag, studies it with his hands, shakes it for some reason, picks up another and does the same, and goes right back to the first one to do it again.

  • @bijibadness

He is checking chips that Arnold asked him to pick up. Not dog food. He shakes and breaks them because he can tell if they are fresh by the crackle.

  • I feel a little bad or the shopkeeper, it's not her job to babysit.

  • @PD1981 hahahahahaha! Are you sure you know?

  • Well at least they had the decency to go easy on the laugh track.

  • @SynysterCondom Thank you, whats worse is when the audience is so uneased there's sparse laughter here and there becuase they don't know how to react.

  • WTF O_o I thought this was a comedy...

  • Man, wtf Diffrent Strokes?

  • Wow they really pulled the "be a good person like your bible tells you to" line.

  • Mr Drummond took on a different woman and convinced Sam that is his mother.

  • is that Robert Maxwell from the original V?

  • sam is the dude from salute your shorts

  • Creepy ass people, if my dad had brought some new kid home Id be like wtf is wrong with you???

  • Wow! That Officer Fernandez is HOT!!!

  • "like it says in the bible..." I blame Jesus for gettin this little boy abducted...

  • Why didn't he just adopt a kid? His excuse was bull.

  • @malikai888 Adoptions involve a shitton of hassle and work, and a great deal of the time, the kids are pretty jaded.

    Also, this is a sitcom.

  • Dial phone... jeez. I feel old.

Actually... who sees a pay phone anywhere at all anymore?

  • Mr. Drummond should have paid the kidnapper to keep Sam. The show stunk after he joined the cast. He was to Diff'rent Strokes what Cousin Oliver was to The Brady Bunch.

  • I recognize sam!

  • What a f*cked up town Arnold and Friends lived in...

  • I hated Sam... I wish they would've had him kidnapped in his first episode... After they find him, Arnold should take him to Horton's Bicycle Shop and leave him there...

  • Wow.. What an idiot! Like who the hell would kidnapp a kid?

  • HATED SAM ON THIS SHOW!!!! Any hit show that brings in an extra kid, means THE END!!! I.e.: Arthur from Brady Bunch, Jonnine/Chachie on Happy Days, Little Earl on Whats Happening, Big head Nicky from Fresh Prince of Bel Air. I could go on all day. The one that DID work was Oliva and the cousins on The Cosby Show

  • @wingchundragon

haha 3J from family matters too

  • ironically Mr Horton raped and murdered mae s beautiful little tommy.

  • 4:11- i was so buisy watching the kid fuck up my chip shelf i couldnt care to listen in the the boys conversation with a strange man who didnt come in with the child.

  • why didn't he just get a kid legally -_-

  • What's up with this show and pedophilia/kidnapping?

  • @Nanaman12345

During this time (70s) "after school specials" were very popular in tv show episodes to educate kids and inform families the dangers in our everyday lives.

I remember one episode of different strokes that Kimberly was going bulimia in order to be pretty enough for modeling.

  • It upsets me how he is touching Sam's hair!!!! Leave Sam alone!

  • that guy is a fag the guy who took sam

  • Nice sound quality.

  • 2:12 IT'S A TRAP!

  • I only found this show because of the catchphrase, but it turns out to have a good story and tackles some important issues...

    Im watching this again

  • hey does anyone know the name of the episode where arnold and kimberly get kidnapped???? that one for some reason pops in my head above all the other episodes. or is this the one????????? please reply back to me if anyone knows???

  • @2010thekingofkings i dont think that happened

  • Wow this tv show aired when I was in the 5th grade on NBC and was cancelled on ABC during my senior year in high school.

  • i hate kidnappers people like him have made me hate humans though they are a small minority if they are the minority it does not matter much

  • That's ducked up, eventhough this is a comedy, it's really hard to watch the kid get done up like that. That fucking bastard better be lucky this wasn't in Texas oh boy

  • omg. dat is so sad. like how could yuh do dat. i hope he get wut he deserve at da end.

  • this guy is a sick fuck, i betcha he killed his own son, fucking creep!

  • Was this based on a true story? The scenario seems so outlandish

  • @snake063 so true...LOL

  • I don't care if they guy's face was on fire! He should've left the store when he was talking to him.

  • i love how this is supposed to be such a close and loving family, but they manage to fall prey to bulimia, pedophilia, and kidnapping.

  • @cartoonist2000 Kidnapping twice, lol. Don't forget when Kimberly and Arnold were abducted, and Kimberly sexually assaulted.

  • the lady in the store didnt see or hear anything> thats so ridiuclous

  • @FatPopCorn right but she hears the chips crunch ! how dumb

  • Is there one where Arnold gets kidnapped?

  • @mrlemmon No. Sam is the one who's kidnapped in this episode.

  • @mrlemmon no sam gets kidnapped

  • This is a crazy episode, but funny part is Officer Fernendez lol oh shit funny name.

  • @OHarold118

What did you mean by "funny part is Officer Fernendez"?

  • The whole thing is sad.....and creepy. Omg Sam is soo cute, and polite.

  • i love the shot of donald when he makes sure that sam is happy about fried chicken night

  • i was so said to find out plato died at the age of 34 from a drug overdose. she had such a wholesome image on the show. so young.

  • @shewstring2000 RIP Gary...so sad...but Gary had health issues from the get go so it's surprising that he lived that long...

  • Logically this makes no sense.

    1) Why not adopt

    2) If he's gonna go with the homeless kid plan why get a kid whose clearly not homeless!?

  • I remember watching this as a kid and it freaked me out...

  • That man is horrible, first playing on his conscience and then threatening to kill his parents. That is not justifiable by any grief or pain.

  • If he would have been honest to his wife that he kidnapped him and threatened to kill his parents I would have much more respect for him

  • i wouldn't. i have no respect for kidnappers whatsoever. its a dirty, evil thing no matter what the circumstances behind it are

  • It's so nice to see Dana Plato back in Diff'rent Strokes :)

  • Everyone seems to be forgetting, the guy said in part 1 that adopting someone could take years, he wanted a kid right away.

  • Has this man ever heard of the word ADOPTION? thats what you do when you want to get another child. It was so dumb of him and soooo wrong to steal a child to replace his dead son.

  • he should have just taken a real poor boy life the ones that really live in a cardbourd box?

  • what happened to the original Maggie???

  • LOOSEN UP BOY!!!!...and then proceed to threaten to kill his parents...that makes a lot of sense.

  • Why He KidNapp SAM 4...Don't He EveR HeaRd Of Adoption Agency.....BacK Then....

  • Why He KidNapp Sam 4.....Don't He Ever Heard Of Adoption Agency......

  • WTF......Why He KidNaPP SAM 4....Don't He EvER HeaRd Of AdoPTioN AgeNcY......!

  • he said that that could take years

  • i freaking kick the guy and run like crazy! i was yelling at my computer when he first kidnapped him, "run sam!" lmao i got in trouble:(

  • Hello, no Sam should not go nowhere with that man.

  • i wish they had maggie kidnapped that would be worth an episode lol

  • message of the day get your kid an ID CARD

  • I'd never send my kid to the store alone these days!

  • the kidnapper withnot b eholding me like that his ass would be in the ER

  • It's so absurd how Drummond is so calm and sensible even in the most extreme situations.

  • The lost puppy routine is the oldest kidnapping trick in the book.

  • That lost puppy routine is the oldest kidnapping trick in the book.

  • nobody fucks with mr drummond

  • it seems like bobby is the only sane person in the house

  • this is probably why they don't show episodes anymore

  • God it seems every episode a kid get kipnapped

  • but it teaches kids a good point even if they have to shit their pants to get it

  • I like how the store owner dosent do anything about them like really she was probuly there the whole time she could of called the cops saying this dudes strangley trying to get this kid to help him find his dog .FUCK .

  • i agree it was a big thing in the 80s

  • I used to live in Chicago and not in a great neiborhood. After watching these episodes I would cry and refuse to play in the yard because of it.

  • its like bringing home a new puppy lol

  • This show used to scare the shit out of me, I wouldn't talk to any strangers.

  • damn first the sicko malester now the f kidnapper i thoutght it was a kid show but it does have a good ponit

  • 80s kid shows use to try and sow kids the dangers in life

  • This a old TV show they have a dial phone and not a touch tone phone in the store

  • Well it was made in the mid-80s.

  • i love mr drummond hes from here where i live Lethbridge Alberta

  • i know this is all acting,,,,,but that guy was actin like a bitch in front of the kid

  • the whole family is krazy!

  • The kidnapper and his wife are both psyco!!

  • It wasn't the wife's fault. She didn't know that her husband kidnapped Sam.

  • @chopaa99 His wife didn't know he kidnapped him

  • Comment removed

  • True, but I think there were some points that needed to get across here.

  • The show jumped the shark w/Sam in the first place.

  • Amen... he was 5th Avenue's version of cousin Oliver.

  • Kidnapped Sam so he can make his wife happy what a load of shit. He should have committed his wife to the nut house.

  • holy sh*t he DOES look like Arn Anderson! good call!

and wtf was arnold thinking letting a little kid go on the streets of NYC alone.

  • The lady playing Sam's mom in this episode is the same person who played Arnold's teacher in previous episodes. She once dated Mr. Drummond in an episode.

  • She gets around.

  • Man, this creeped me out as a kid!

  • Rocky was my dog asshole

  • It's Sam's own fault for going with him. No matter how nicely they act or what they say never go anywhere with a stranger.

  • i always thought arn anderson looked like a molester

  • Now we know what the Horsemen were REALLY all about

  • The Horsemen were about women, money, booze, and kidnapping!

I'm almost surprised Ric didnt run in yelling Woooo! Double A, the dog is down the street, grab the kid!!!

  • thank god it isnt Ole Anderson, or that kid would have no chance

  • waddya mean?

  • haha...that's true

  • Was Mr Brown that desprate that he had to go and steal a kid!

  • If his dog ran away then why was he looking for dog food?

  • i would have never went no were with him

  • can you say PSYCHO ...

  • Royce D Applegate was a great character actor. In this episode he was a beast. He will be sadly missed.

  • These episodes were so disturbing.

  • There is the truth to it.

  • i agree totally

  • how does the lady working at the store not find this odd?

  • The woman in the store assumed that he was Sam's father. How is she supposed to know?

  • yeah she should've said that Sam left with a man.

  • this scares me now,,and im 31,,it also makes me even more scared cause i have 2 kids,,,god protect them and all children

  • your words touch me miss...

Have you heard the song "Concete Angel"? I know damn well parents who are like this should not be!

yeah I hope god protects your children and all children... even the ones "Concrete Angel" is dedicated to.

oh geez why does this episode have a laugh track? it shouldn't be on it!

  • How funny to see this pop up on my subscriptions today! I remember this well..it scared the everloving crap out of me when I was a little kid!
