  • As Nelly would say, "Its getting hot in here..." Hope these guys had insurance!

  • Excellent footage of the fire at Levine's. Notice how rapidly, within 3mins, the building is destroyed. Check or install fire alarms in your home.

  • Good example of a flashover that.

  • you can tell this wasnt in america, if it was there would be 20 firetrucks and 200 firefighters walking around

  • I'm loving how chilled everyone is :L

  • It's Voldermort!

  • At least the fire alarm was working

    AYEEEEEEEEE

  • I think you'll find it's Pew Pew Barney McGrew.

    They're brothers

  • this is why gingers shouldn't be aloud to go shopping.

  • @Ellis01234567890

And is that also why you don't have any eyeballs?

  • @RedRoosterRoad your one of those gingers that try's to be funny aren't you?

  • @Ellis01234567890 LMAO! No I have dark brown hair :D

  • Shite cheap levines furniture, no wonder it went up so quick

  • Call out The Trumpton brigade Huw Pew Barney McGrew Cuthbert Dibble and Grub

  • @p24hrsmith that is possibly the best thing i've ever read!

  • oh noo the discounts are gone

  • @robertmbishop; You're welcome. I work in the Fire sector.

  • Continued from below.................with this in mind they did an outstanding job of containing a fully developed fire within the restricted space that they did. I understand Iceland (adjoining BHF) was largely unaffected. Therefore this was a successful intervention. Finally, for those interested in the chemistry of combution the footage above shows all the classic signs of flashover; one of the biggest killers of Firefighters. The fact nobody died is due to A1 professional Firefighting.

  • @TheJMB1974 Thank you for writing all that out, seriously. You sound well informed.

  • Continued from below..........The first appliance would have many tactical choices based upon the philosophy that Firefighters will take significant risk to save saveable life, less risk to save saveable property and no risk to save lives or property already lost. I would imagine therefore that the priorities were; ensuring all persons were accounted for, secure water supplies and request additional resources asap, make a first strike on the fire, assess where the fire can be stopped............

  • Continued from below......so, the second appliance would arrive in the time it takes to turn the crew in, mobilise the appliance and drive to the scene.....say 8 minutes or so. This was an 11 appliance attendance I think; the supporting appliances would come from Bewdley (1), Stourport (1), Bromsgrove (1), Droitwich (1), Redditch (1 or 2), Worcester (1 or 2) and fan outwards across the county based on availability. Arrival times will vary but they will all arrive asap on blues & twos..........

  • Ok, for the uninitiated this is how it works; The firecall received at Fire Control probably stated 'fire' which would initially have allocated 2 fire appliances. These would be from Kidderminster if both of theirs were available (not on other calls etc etc). The first appliance would be the Wholetime (full time) appliance, the second would be the Retained (part time) appliance. The Retained Firefighters have bleepers and are required to turn in within 5 minutes of the bleeper going off.........

  • Wheres everyones pitch forks??? Theres a few witches and wankers who cud av been burned at the stake there!! Kidderminsterites u av let me down :-( xxx

  • 0.35 are the people on the right looking at the bed WTF

  • what the fuk was the fire department doing? only 1 fire truck????

  • This is like the most interesting thing to happen to Kidderminster ever.

  • is that bird with the glasses on her head after a part in Eastenders or wot ?

  • Finally something descent happened in kiddi

  • Where was this?

  • ohohohohohoho lol lol

  • Not 70% off any more.

  • No this was a very complicated procedure unfortunately there was no saving the 3 stores the explosion was a gas supply igniting. The child in pram was very irresponsible those were toxic fumes and I hope the parent goes to parenting classes, but with all that said and done what's the current situation? are the roads closed are businesses run as normal.

  • i bought my new furniture from there last week, lucky me.

  • @Americunt4gay 1. This is the UK, not the USA... trolololol thus meaning your argument is invalid! :-)

    2. It was only a fire.. nothing to do with any China vs USA economy drop.

    So, have a nice life!

  • fireman sam would of had this sorted.

  • @PKR1856 you can't even read the time correctly let alone have anything sensible to say. What is it with you .**** that think fire engines just appear when you want them there was only 1 because there was quite literally only one sent and the others that were asked for don't just appear. They had to spend to much time dealing with people that thought it was ok to walk and drive in their way, from your comments I wouldn't be surprised if you were one of them. What you don't seem to realise is ev

  • I did wonder what that bang was, I kould hear it from my house ! ! :)

  • This is a typical Tea Party Fire Team... slow, single truck, 15 minutes before water used... OMG! This community should be ashamed! Were the firefighters all volunteer?

  • @PKR1856 I make it out that the fire service attack the fire in 1.56 that's a lot less than your 15 minute estimate. And i do believe in that space of 2 mins they've attached a fire hydrant so they have a constant supply of water. You moan about the fire brigade don't use water but without a supply coming in, the water on the fire engine would last no more than 6-8 mins. I just find it petty out of all the things you could comment about, you slander the fire service.

  • Comment removed

  • @PKR1856 are you even Firefighter i bet your not and fire does not distinguish between a wholetime crew rds or volunteer

  • @PKR1856 You fight such a fire from the inside or the outside. In this video there are limited fire crews and obviously with limited skills. so, they choose from the outside. Their number one goal, other than saving lives, must be to keep the fire from spreading to other buildings which they finally did by moving to the left side of the building. Small villages with limited incomes usually have small emergency crews. THEN they regret it!

  • Right guys and gals.. This govt and the past bunch of labour loonies insist in cutting back front line services, that also includes police and fire services. They would rather ensure huge bonuses are paid to bankers and the like, rather than tax those arseholes and plough the money into front line services. The fact that police had to come from as far as Telford because the local police could not cope with the incident, just about sums it up. So all you people here, blame the politicians.

  • shame the rest of kidderminster didnt go up... SH*T hole

  • @Maximaxi217 you really are an uninformed idiot, couple of facts for you, the first crew concentrated on making sure other people were out of shops there professional enough to know what to prioritise, second the 2nd fire engine at Kidderminster is a minimum of 7 mins away after its asked for which it was along with loads of others asked for before the first crew even got the handbrake on. From your comments obviously haven't got a clue what your talking about. Firefighters don't have a magic w

  • shame the rest of kidderminster didnt go up... SH*T hole

  • sale on tomorrow - fire damaged stock! lol

  • Oh goodness 0.0 it was a boring shoo anyway XD

  • OMG! i go to the college ... we had the day off today because of it... never knew it was THIS bad :/

  • @00columbia00 Same, are they opening it tommorow?

  • OMG i was in that shop only about an hour before that happened getting a new sofa!!!!! Thats quite bad :O

  • 0.35 WTF ARE THE PEEPS TO THE RIGHT LOOKING AT THAT BED ?????

  • Excellent video, thanks for posting. I feel badly for those who have lost their jobs.

  • Hi curt thanks for the upload, Kidderminster College has been closed on Monday

  • the boy @3:21 Is on the picture my cousin took :O

  • wow my cousin got a pic of this on facebook

    nice pic Euan

  • fckin great i have to walk home up this road. >:(

  • Such a shame to see this. I was at RAF Cosford at the time, and I received at text from my mom about this. We live half a mile from town and she could see the smoke and smell it. As we came back we drove down past Connells and turned left as you weren't allowed past it. You could see the white smoke left by the blaze up

at the Glades. Sad to see this go. It will now be knocked down and replaced. Hopefully with something new, as well as another BHF shop.

  • I remember when that used to be Haven :( sad times! Glad no one was hurt though!

  • @TheClabumbum Are you forgetting that this is kidderminster?

  • Fuck me :(

  • Don't know why people get so defensive, yes it's a tough job and I don't envy them, but really, a lot of those shops could have been saved if more serious action was taken much quicker.

  • @maximaxi217 Well mate if you think you could do any better then why in the hell did you not do it ok i think our fire fighters did one hell of a job.

  • People do appreciate what the firefighters do, but they do get paid to go to work. My friend lives locally and says they only have use of two fire engines so if this is the case, their hands are tied. I was there at the beginning and there were no hoses aimed at the blaze initially whether people want to hear it or not, sorry.

  • @maximaxi217 they had 15 Appliances there in total throughout the course of it and cosidering our alarm went off first and it was the furniture shop next door who initiated the fire then it meant that they didn't know exactly where the fire originated from and where to tackle first. We were there and didn't know so if we didn't what chance did the fire crew have?! the smoke looked as though it was from furniture shop, then looked like it originated from iceland then bhf, they had no chance!

  • @mattycUK It must be difficult in a situation like that, however when you are in a position such as this you have to make a quick assessment, and in this case the seriousness of it didn't seem to register quick enough. They should have called for back up engines from the word go. It all came too late, following hot dry weather a furniture shop on fire is obviously gonna blow big time. You could clearly see the smoke coming from the furniture shop from the outset.

  • @mattycUK think have exhausted the subject now, just glad nobody got hurt.

  • Thanks for uploading this, so sad I bought my bed from the shop on the left which went also... I hope no one was hurt, they were all well insured and it wasn't arson. Peace

  • I WAS THERE!

  • @chucknuggets1 yes and so were i

  • how come there was only 1 fire engine? and what in the hell were the firefighters playing at?

is there any more video of this fire?

  • @MrFishmonger1 I've uploaded another two videos, but it's from the side where you can really only see fire and lots of smoke!

  • @MrFishmonger1 Perhaps doing their job? Given you're such an expert it's a shame you weren't there to direct them....

  • @MrFishmonger1

what would you have done better? thrown fish at it?

  • @MrFishmonger1 they were the first pump there, this was as they turned up. There were 10 more on the way. What else could be done???

  • @00beasis well i think the firefighters did a very good job

  • @Cynthia001able thanks

  • @MrFishmonger1 Kidderminster only has 1 or 2 fire engines at the station as far as I'm aware and there's a good chance the other was on call.

  • @MrFishmonger1

Well they were trying to make sure everyone was safe

  • Just thought I would use use this thread to remind you folk to check your smoke alarms and if you need any advice or you need to replace your smoke alarms please contact your local fire service. The service is FREE for everyone and it could save your life.

  • @MrFishmonger1 The rest were helping old ladies and uneducated fools opning their coke bottle, or helping them with their hw.

  • @MrFishmonger1

I am sure you will be the first in the queue to sign a petition aboput cut backs. You were all warned.

  • @MrFishmonger1 I hope your house burns down...

  • Bloody hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 3:09 for boom x

  • 3.09 hahaha xx :)

  • after the big bang, i think them firefighters deserve blumin knighting!not everyone appriciates what thay actually do...

  • OMG x

  • INSURANCE JOB!!!

  • pissed myself laughin when that guy put his camera up and the bang when he looked like he thought he did it :P

  • I go to the college you can see in the far left corner of the screen, I walk past that shop every day to get home! this is really scary! x

  • cant belive i missed it :O i leave kiddy for less than an hour and this happens :O shockinn :O

  • My mum works (well.. worked now) at the BHF store. From the front,, it looked ok, but inside its totally gutted. All the stock, paperwork... The lot, totally burnt.

I will just say, people who are claiming it started in Iceland; don't jump the gun. It's under investigation. People working in the BHF saw smoke come from next door and heard a few bangs, then saw smoke coming into their store and evacuated.

So many jobs have been lost now =(

  • Good to see a swift response from the West Midlands fire service. Good job, guys!

From what I've heard, Levines is no more, as is the British Heart Foundation shop, next door. The knock on effect may be that Iceland is forced to relocate across the road to the former Safeway / Morrisons store, which is handy, what with it being a purpose built supermarket and everything.

Still, this shows the devastating nature of fire and how easily it can cause such massive destruction.

  • @Coop83 Expert are you.

  • Comment removed

  • @Coop83 @maximaxi217 too slow to act? they were there in under 2 minutes after we called them. get a life. i was working in the bhf today, it came and gutted all shops in 15 minutes, when you get your piece of paper telling me you're a fireman then come back to me, until then go do one

  • @mattycUK I don't want to be a fireman thank you, yes they were they quickly but unfortunately there wasn't enough done quickly enough, 1 fire engine was ridiculous considering the situation. You can insult all you want but facts are facts.

  • Am I the only person to notice the poor baby in the pram only a few yards from the fire! Top notch parenting skills there. What if the whole building went boom. Not to mention the child inhaling the smoke soot/dust. Dumb people. But whoever recorded this fair play, looks quite scary to be that close. Fair one to the fire fighters as well!!

  • Idiots! What if there were people in there, and you don't care, you just want a spectacle that will get you views, those people, the paramedics and firemen need space, and you just standing there looking and filming while lives were ruined.

  • it started from a gas canister in iceland more fire engines needed to be there at start just 1 crew from kiddy where was the other engine

  • @midgetman1998 yes exactly what I said, too slow to act

  • NNot as exciting as it looked

  • Bad news... How many of the businesses will be able to afford to rebuild even with insurance cover? How many people will no longer have jobs? Sad day for staff and customers.

  • :o there was a sale in there aswell :( hope nobody got hurt :)

  • wow cool :P

  • It was handled badly, it was containable at first, but they didn't act quickly enough and it all quickly got out of control. There was only one fire engine for ages.

  • @maximaxi217 I guess you let everyone down then not tackling it like a good citizen. I guess people like you moan about everything, after all you would no doubt know all about health and safety too right ?

  • @maximaxi217 What should I hv put it out with, a bottle of lemonade from Wilkos? Stands to reason if a shop selling furniture goes up in dry conditions it's going to go fast. There hadn't even got hoses on initially until it was too late, and no I don;t moan about everything. I just value peopleslives and property.

  • @maximaxi217

you don't have a clue mate

  • FFs that went up quick just hope there was no1in there

  • is wilkinsons dead?

  • no it isn't @bess4ever

  • @BAMitzAly IS IT? OH FUCK.

  • listen to it around 3:10, that huge bang.

  • @smileyegg879 Could be some floor falling. I also heard there is trouble with the gas (though I heard electrics started it) so it might be a gas source catching fire.

  • I was there shopping I couldnt belive it

  • omg, i was there too:O!i cant believe it..

  • @smileyegg879 And me I was there:(

  • The terrorists finally attacked their main target. RIP Haven.

  • I was there :O

  • @meggietful and me

  • oh my god!!!!!

  • no way would i stand that close with the windows smashing! sad times,

  • BOOOOOM!

  • one of my favorite shops bummer

  • i was there ;) was a fun few mins

  • Do u think it was fun for the people who have lost their jobs!!!

  • @xxlottyxxbabzxx my bike was in the heart foundation shop as i was volunteering there, fooking w4nkers

  • LMAOOO

  • Bad times !

  • Gerrard? 1:41

  • Looks like this was towards the start of the fire. It spread quickly.

Shame the news didn't spread to the Shuttle as quick- I haven't heard a peep from them yet!

  • shame cud ov been worse cud ov been my house lol

  • blimey , what a brilliant video , i dont think i would of stood that close though

  • apparently it was an electrical fault

  • Anyone hurt?

  • Is anyone talking? Was it Arson?

  • @MrCartoonguy Couldn't have been, he's managing his side against Spurs at the time it started.

  • So, did it get worse? They look like they were struggling to put it out with one hose?

  • Bloody hell!!
