It doesn't feel right without the Universal logo. Even though it was probably Disney's intention to not make it confusing to distribute a Universal film, but the way the credits just open the music sounds chopped up, it doesn't have that same jump moment of music that the original version has.
Yes siree, this is the exact same list seen my copy which I got not too long ago. I also own the Thorn/EMI Video release of the film, 1999 DVD copy of the film, and the 2007 2-Disc DVD copy of the film.
i wish they would release a version that had the original border i was so cut when i first watched it on dvd and it was all black more so in the end credits didnt have all the characters in blue sketches
the opening to "The Dark Crystal" was cut for some reason on the 1994 VHS release. Also, they tweaked the color. I have the orignal 1982 VHS tape, where the end credits show a blue sketch of Aughra.
@mrlopez2681 How do you mean? Disney intentionally replaced the Universal logo seen on current DVD versions (although now distributed by Sony).
Disney distributed the video releases of practically all of the Jim Henson/Muppet properties, mainly except Sesame Street, whose video rights now belong to Warner Bros. Disney even distributed Fraggle Rock before Hit Entertainment/Lions Gate even bought the rights (?).
@avickers1992 Actually, Disney only deleted the Universal Pictures logo on this tape. The logo is only seen on the 1983 Thorn/EMI Video release of film and DVD releases of the film released by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and (I'm guessing) the 1999 VHS released by Columbia-TriStar Home Video.
I love the beginning, I don't get why the neat looking widescreen thing isn't in the DVD:(!!
And the dark crystal isn't complete without the nightmare before Christmas advertisement also the Jim Henson Kermit head logo should have stayed in the DVD?
