Did you ever get this thing to fly? I am having the same issues, cannot seem to get rid of the torque roll, or find the CG. I believe I have enough power using the Turnigy 2836-2350, 40 amp esc, 6x4 prop, 3s 2200 30c battery... Please share any pointers if you can, I would really appreciate it!!
@JC0926 - Yes, I put a 2200kv motor in it and a 6x4 prop, the CG was as per plan in the end. Try a smaller 5" prop if you can. I will try and take a video next time I take it out. 30amp ESC & 3s 2200mAh battery used.
Tail heavy, and not enough power. I know you said it has more than enough power...no it doesn't. With all of my Deltastorm series planes, I can punch the throttle, from a near nose-up hover like yours was in and it will shoot straight up. You need at least a 2200-ish kv motor that can pull about 25A with a 6x4 on a 3S 2200mAh 25C.
@T3chDad - Thanks Bob. It was a torque roll problem. The motor had enough power but required a larger 8" prop @ 950kv which produced too much torque. Motor replaced with a 2000kv and a 6x4 prop and the problems went away.
Yeh, a 2000kv motor is needed here so it can run a smaller prop. Torque is the problem here. The plane has more than enough power as it is, it can hold it's own weight from my hand, however, power is no good without control.
i hope u figure it out. I scratch built a plane where the wing location was similar but they were swept forward, and I didn't hv much luck. can you not move the cg any more forward??? or maybe just adding weight to the nose. if that works then possibly go with a heavyier batt, if u were using the batt placement to adjust the cg. don't give up so easily. that's what scratch-building is all about. if u don't suceed try, try again.
Thanks, we have tried the CG at both extremes front, back, centre and everything in-between. The battery was a 3s 2200mah (180g) I'm going to try a higher KV rated motor with a smaller prop as this seems more like a torque problem the more I look at it. Slowing it down on the replay really helps diagnosing what's going on. I keep saying that's it, I'm not bothering again with this, but then pick it up again the next day and have another hack around with it. It's not going to beat me!

You need a higher KV motor. You are definitely underpowered. That motor works better with bigger props.
