This really was a wonderful game. It is much better than Unreal 2! This had lots of memorable battles and levels, my fav being the large outdoor ones like in the first Unreal. The village music still gives me chills and the new music in this mod is excellent as well. Just listen to the fly-by music or the credits song... I can listen to them over and over again. I wish we had more games like this these days.

Incredible mod....but I do have to agree with everybody else that the voice acting was really cringe-worthy. If they got rid of that and maybe the cutscenes it would have been the perfect "sequel"

Probably the best mod for UT ever made, but someone just needs to mod this to remove all the voice acting. I don't care if it means the story won't make sense, it never made sense anyway.

As a coincidence, I was replaying some Unreal maps and I got to this. I totally agree with everyone that the voice murders the atmosphere, so I looked into it. If you delete the packages the levels won't load, what you have to do is open each package in Unreal Ed and replace each individual sample with a blank wav file. I tried it for the first level and it worked a treat :E

Hey ApocalypseLV, great vid, but may I ask some questions..TO ANYBODY WHO IS READING THIS... In Europe, where I come from are 2 games based on the first Unreal. The game Unreal itself and a mission pack including some new weapons, some new grafics (engine is the same) and a new adventure based on the main story, cronologially after the main title. This misson pack is called "Return To Na Pali". Is the shown maybe the same with an altered US name? "Operation Na Pali" Or a good fan community mode?

@Thorralf83 @ Operation Na Pali is a fanmade SP-Campaign. It spans i think

~ 35 maps and has a playtime as long as the original game. You can also play it

in coop mode. But it is played with the OldschoolAmpD under Unreal Tournament.

Operation Na Pali is a single player mod for UT99. It has no reference to the original story.

@dapapeyu Some of the monsters dont feel like unreal, and anyway by the amount of work on these maps-I feel this is way to easy-few monsters that cant fight with ut99 weapons-eg the should have them if the actor had unreal weapons instead(weaker). And no secrets,closed doors etc. just fine maps countless hours just rushed through-baaaaad-can you make new monster then you can make them intressting to
