@ 0:11 acctually, the information is wrong.

while FF 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 where released in japan, 2, 3 and 5 never was released in amarica. they instead released FF 1 as, well, FF 1, FF 4 as 2, and 6 as 3. however, this is the japanese FF3, not the amarican-

@agogdata There is a YouTube to mp3 program out there, which all you would need to do is crop the file to just the entrance sound.

though honestly FF3 forces certain jobs on you, like when you have to go to the dungeon with mini, you need to use all spellcasters and with another one, all dragoons else the boss will wipe you out since you can't avoid that attack. Final Fantasy 5 is much better with the Job System since you can combine jobs and aren't forced to be 1 type; I just regret you have to grind for it for the 999 ap red mage's dual cast or use a save editor to balance the slow berserker class if you emulate.

I've invested a lot of time in FFII and I love the app. It has a great story and a great graphics upgrade from the NES. I can't wait to move on to this title. The pricepoint has been a concern for me, but this review makes it look worth the price. Any FF games from here on out should be amazing on iOS. Holding out for VII someday.

@varoennauraa Yes i played FF6 a few years ago on emulator, it was exceptionally genius and stunning on SNES. People talk about How great FF7 or FF9 is, but they never played FF6 before, it is my favorite to be honest. Amazing complex multilayered plots because the characters and things you choose to do affect the stories completely.

Great port from the DS. FFIV is a much better game, and cant wait for the port.

As for FFVI, well have to see given that Nintendo couldnt remake it due to its scope on the DS. If they decide to do it on the 3DS, we might get a port, but NGP, highly unlikely.

@Oemenia I'd be keen on an FFVI title dropping on the App Store - while I could technically emulate the game, it's just not the same (and frankly riddled with problems) and I never had the opportunity to finish it, so it'd be a great excuse for me to get it done! :D

@AppSpy DS emulators are one of the few that dont enhance resolution. Im playing FF3 right now. It takes teh 320x240 image and streches it to your screen. What you get a the worst looking picture ever. Any other emulation actually renders the game in the resolution of your screen instead of streching it. So unless you wanna play in a 320x240 box on your more than likely 1080p screen its gonna look like pure shit.

@AppSpy Is it possible to see in the app store selling ps1 titles like FF7/8/9 in your personal opinion. I do know that you can get those by jailbreaking and use emulators. but its just too risky, i like to do it the legit way haha.

@Muamarz While it's entirely possible, I wouldn't hold my breath just yet. Square have other plans for the App Store and getting the older titles isn't such a bad deal so far (also Secret of Mana was a huge boon).

Yeah, got to second the comment about the mis-numbering in the video... while I wish SquareEnix would make a 3D remake of Final Fantasy VI, this FFIII for the iPhone is actually the real Final Fantasy III (remaked from the NES to the Nintendo DS and ported to the iPhone)

@AppSpy Actually Final Fantasy 3 is Final Fantasy 6 in the US. I have the original Snes game it says ff3 but thats the US version. Japan i think made it so it was ff6 so it could fit with the order.

From what I've heard, this app will kill your progress if you hit the home button and haven't saved. I'm ok with this, but, out of curiosity, how does this game handle things like phone calls interrupting gameplay? I'd hate to put an hour or so in only to have it ruined by a telemarketer trying to put me in a Hawaiian timeshare.

@AcousticNinja623 If you're losing progress when hitting home then you're experiencing a bug of some variety as it should pick up where you left off either through backgrounding the application or performing a quicksave - the game is designed to deal with interruptions.

I hadn't thought of the problem until I read the reviews on it in the appstore, and someone was bashing the game because it apparently would lose progress. I guess he didn't know what he was talking about. Thanks for clarifying that, I might go pick it up now.

Totally worth the price though. It is challenging; it is gorgeous; it is absolutely the best pre-Playstation era Final Fantasy.

Pokemon was created by a Nintendo owned company named GameFreak, and seeing as Nintendo and Apple are "enemies" in the business, you won't be seeing any Pokemon titles on the app store any time soon. The developer of the Final Fantasy franchise; Square Enix doesn't exactly have any ties with major publishers such as Nintendo or Sony, so they are free to release their titles independently through various means, such as said App Store,

@kingsean96 For those wondering the same thing (even though you did find out), saving can only be performed on the world map and other selected points throughout the game. Always save before heading in to a dungeon and if things are a bit rough level up at the entrance before diving all the way in ;)

This looks greatly polished for the touch device, as I've seen many games converted for the touch device which fails only on controls itself (Aka, Duke Nukem) I'm just wishing that a Pokemon based game will makes its way to the AppStore.
