  • George Orwell, Aldus Huxley, Judgement Regrets or eternal Redemption Road - this one is a thinker!

  • Crazy good song! #1 in mid-July 1969 - says alot.- there were a hundred other great songs out then - and that's just what was on the radio. 1969 -Think Woodstock '69 ~

  • 懐かしい歌です。高校生だったと思います。

  • It was a hymn of peace, still in the 80ies,when i was a freak, and it is still today.I would liked to have the single, but that is impossible after 45 years,i think. It was a band only with one monstertrack, one masterwork, but they've made all by themselves, recording, pressing, producing, editing and brought to the people with a truck, that has loudspekers. At first 20,and with that gained money 40,and so on.A real sysiphuswork for sure. But it was it worth,it claimed up the billboards !Without any help !

  • @TwinDragonStudios and @lyarnes...Ditto. Facebook sucks, lol.

  • @TwinDragonStudios....Me too :). Now I wish I woulda been born 1 week later. Honky Tonk Woman was #1 then dammit.

  • This song was #1 in the charts in the Netherlands when I was born.

  • dustin dollin brought me here

  • in the year 7510

if God's a-comin' he ought to make it by then

maybe he'll look around himself and say

"guess it's time for the Judgement Day''

  • I've known about this song for a decade, thanks to Rush Limbaugh using it in the '90s to mock the idea that Classical music increases IQ. I was 3 years old when this song was originally produced. I'm here now because I'm editing some of my older photos, and I often hear this song in my head when I go through my old photos.

  • You are on JEOPARDY and you get asked "This was the subtitle to the song 'In The Year 2525' ". Can you "answer" this correctly? What is (EXORDIUM & TERMINUS)? should be your question. {it means Beginning & End}. + This was #1 for 6 wks. All the while WOODSTOCK happened on one of the weekends. + MST3K referred to this song when putting out 1 of their annual calendars. They even provided a separate calendar for 2525 (that is, if man is still alive.). LOL1

  • I didn't get here from futurama...infact i'm sure how i even got here but god damn i like it

  • SHAKE JUNT

  • TOP 2000

  • In the year 2011, 2 chicks raped me.

  • I'm not here because of Futurama.

  • @kawuniadarunia2 I found this song originally because of Futurama, but am here this time because I want to be. Point being... who cares?

  • the sad thing is most of these things have already started to happen and it's only 2011

  • @Demloir My thoughts exactly, bud.

  • well the world has a cycle a new beginning... f you listen to end of the sog they start with the beginning lyrics of the song... think of it as restoring your computer... everything has a new beginning

  • Part of me wishes people would stop replying to my comment T.T

Every time I get the "hey look someone replied to you on this video" I have to listen to the song several more times xD

  • Gentlemen broncos brought me here

  • Worse reference to admit to, that is; I thought it was really funny how they used this song in that movie.

  • Theme tune to a modern great called "small faces" set In Scotland In the 1960s. Such an underestimated film. I think everyone got trap spotting fever and this was over looked. It's a film 4 production. But the song works so well in it. Especially when lex is being chased by the neds the slow motion and this song echos in the background. Great film. "eeeyyyy malcy Johnson yeeeeer dead!!!!"

  • いいね~

  • Thumbs up if you're here NOT because of Futurama.

  • @Takeshi357 Alas, but I heard this song first on "Gentlemen Broncos," which I think is a way worse reference.

  • @Takeshi357 I'm actually here because I looked up the number one song in America the week that I was born. Yeah, I am old. :)

  • @Takeshi357

im here cuz of dustin dollin

  • The sad thing is, most of this shit has come to past within the last 20 years.

  • i love this song remember me the vietnam war...

  • IN THE YEAR 2525 MY BRO STILL GOT NO WIFE... !!! :D

  • mankind's stubborness and sheer will to live even in the face of ultimate doom will have us going, even if our decendants' lives will turn to shit. Societies will shift and change as will technology, but as a species we'll be sticking it out for quite a while. Who knows, maybe we'll improve ourselves somehow, whether it's for better or worse...

  • I liek this seung

  • DUSTIN FKING DOLLIN!

  • scary song think about it

  • My question is... In 2525, will Zager and Evans replace Nostradamus?

  • @AManNamedCM2 I think that you are the most clever person I've seen in a while.

  • @AManNamedCM2 Interesting question. I think yes, your theroy is correct

  • smoked a lot of weed to this song-actually thought at times it was the year 2025-good weed in hawaii

  • Pflanze! Achtung: Pflanze!

  • In the year 2011 my comment got shit loads of thumbs up.

  • "Everything you think, do, and say is in the pill you took today" - already there

"some machines' doing that for you" - getting there

"you'll pick your son, pick your daughter, too, from the bottom of a long glass tube" - already there

If you zapped some technology geek from 40 or 50 years ago into today's world, and had them guess the year solely from the technology available, they'd probably guess way farther ahead than 2011.

  • Great song but makes me sad lol we will not make it to 2525 like this. We have sealed our fate via self perpetual ignorance and rampant greed without thoughts of the worlds children of the future.

  • 2525? I can't imagine the world being around in 2020. 2525 my ass. We're going to destroy ourselves. Wait....we already are destroying ourselves.

  • This is the beautiful thing about classic vs modern medias.

Before the Futurama movie featuring the song "252525" there were so many people who simply never heard the original. Now a quick google search and a couple of 'related links' will direct you here.

And when young people actually go looking for classic media -- well, that makes me happy.

  • @MaceMeetFace hey i'm 12 and i enjoy this sng :)

  • @MaceMeetFace I remember growing up my mother would always change the song when this one played from her collection. But i always loved it, despite its depressing but truthful lyrics.

  • @VelvetBeauty17 Same here, my mum always disliked this one for its lyrics, and listening to it now, I understand why. But I think its darkness is its power.

  • @MaceMeetFace This was in Futurama? O.o I never noticed, I got it from the movie Tunnel Rats.

  • @feffecrazy Different movie, same concept :)

It was parodied in Futurama, instead of 2525, it was 252525.

But still, people went and watched the futurama version on youtube, and the 'related videos' led them here.

I forgot all about this song until it popped up in the related videos :)

  • @MaceMeetFace 1,645,625 been someone looking :) this song is so ahead of its time yet in meaningful lyrics anyways

  • In all the world, there's only one technology; A rusty sword for practicing proctology!

  • i wont go to school!!!!!!

  • So many scumbags, why this song?

  • The discussion has ended.

  • In the year 2525, Miranda Keyes will be born.

  • A bit too optimistic maybe, but I've liked it since it came out!

  • lol tis funny cuz we will have all this by 2020, which is 5 years before he started lol

  • @jaboytee You mean 505 years before he started

  • @jaboytee do the math again... try 505 years before he started!!

  • This song is so depressing but good.

  • EPIC!

  • Great Song

  • Some of you people just don't get the important messages that certain songs have...this song is eerily accurate for today, just as it has been all throughout history...I applaud the man who wrote this

  • tunnel rats...

  • best music possible for time machine in Futurama

  • The world is not going to end Dec. 21 2012 - The Mayas ended in drought and they were off one and a half years on their calendar. Tina S. Webb - Member of The Explorer's Club - NYC

  • in the year 2012 the world is going to end,

  • @noam27v You're stupid, the world won't end in 2012, there's no evidence to prove it

  • @MrTonywuzhere1 There is no evidence that it won't end either.

  • This song reminds me a lot of Brave New World.

  • In the year 2011, music sux ass

  • @TheDrunkenHer0 yeah no

  • @TheDrunkenHer0 you should try metal... \m/ ^.^ \m/

  • @kickassteamleader No he schould try S-range ;)

  • @TheDrunkenHer0 in the year 1980 the music and the cars gona suck. in the year 1990 it tries to recover but then. 2000 everbodys made to drive cars u charge 20 hours in a electirck plug so u can drive a mile. in the year 2030 people starts driving hydrogen cars. in the year 2050 the world blows up in a hydrogen nuke

  • @davedavito You evidently don't know how powerful an electric car can be, or the basic mechanics of a hydrogen fuel cell, "hydrogen nuke" is no where near what would be in a fuel cell...

  • @b33p3rz yea yea

  • @b33p3rz yea i know how powerfull it can be but it you will need to recharge it. and sure i wasn´t sure about how a hydrogen car really work or what kind of hydrogen it is becouse nobody seams to understand that hydrogen cars is a way. sure it is technically an electric car. but oxygen and hydrogen means that u don´t need to wory of runing a leak whit battery acid. and u dont need to charge it for 7 hours

  • @davedavito Even Gas powered cars now have batteries that do the lights/radio/etc and we don't worry about battery acid from that, and the batteries that power electric cars do not have what we would normally call "acid". Top of the line electric cars of today can actually travel about 100 miles before needing a charge, and if you think about how you charge it, plug it in in the garage and go inside, it's not really even like waiting for it to charge.

  • @b33p3rz 100 miles is nothing and sure in the future the distance will increase. but still how long does it take to recharge it? anwser that. i don´t give a shit what it is i pour down into the fuel tank so long it doesent take more then 5 min. and that the car works and drives fast. and drive an electric car more petrol for me to drive nice cars whit. and do you mean that i don´t know what a hybrid car is i will inform you i know a guy who got two toyota prius and he also got a tesla.

  • @davedavito How can you concede that it will advance to go further on a single charge but still densely imply that it will always take forever to charge?"I don't give a shit what it is I pour down the tank"-This is sadly idiotic. Electric cars work and drive just as fast as any other car you can get today, and you say that it just leaves more petrol for you to drive "nice" cars with. What isn't "nice" about an electric car? Back to the charging issue you're being a girl about?

  • @b33p3rz and a nice car is a petrol car from the 50s, 60s and 70s or a car like Koenigsegg, lamboghini or ferrari

  • @davedavito Wow, you condemn recent technological innovations stating that they're simply not good enough for you, focusing on the idiot (and childish) argument of how long it would take to charge, and then you state that it can only be a "nice" car if it's at least 30 years old that runs on non-renewable resources, or is a ridiculously expensive sports car. I'm sad that you can't see that cars are for the convenience of the users, not for looking cool around town.

  • @davedavito That being said, there is not a single electric car in the world available for purchase, that wouldn't out perform any of those cars for normal reasons, in lifespan and performance. There is no difference between their functions besides that one's electric and one runs on liquified dinosaur dust. I'd rather have a nice electric car I can use to go places, instead of be a pretentious douche bag that thinks my Ferrari makes me cool.

  • @b33p3rz well i would rather have a nice volvo rear whel drive then an prius. and by the way what car do u drive?
