As many times as I have listened and will continue enjoy the low bottom end of this throughout amazing! I saw them with a lady friend back in the late 80's with PRIMUS and both bands were great!
1st time i saw these guys, was 88-89, they were nobody's (away from N.Y.) they were not even the main band. it was a place called the "nectarine ballroom" in ann arbor mich. on the campus, and they just owned that fuckin place! i was instantly hooked.
Much respect due to LC.....damn I wish I could back in time and see them in their heyday. Absolute f'ing monsters man.....even Doug who replaced Muzz was a monster. I play drums and Calhoun is still one of my favorites. Don't even get me started on Vernon Reid, ridiculous the sounds he could get out of a guitar. Corey was a badass frontman who could belt it out with the best of em. Muzz and Doug, what more can I say (audio two)? Some of the sickest bass playing for a rock band ever done
@MrKentuckyHeadhunter sorry for the rambling but I get excited when I find these old clips on here. These young kids today, I hope they realize how great Youtube is. When I was growing up, you had to buy concert videos at record stores and there was no way to preview it before you bought it unless a buddy had it. Take advantage whippper snappers
So is that tone achieved by turning the low end down to near zero? I've been trying to get that nasty, biting tone, but i'm not sure if it's the difference in pickups and guitar that make the most difference or the settings on the amp.
This band has opened up so many doors for me as a musician. I have never been inspired by a group as powerful and dynamic as this group. Doug Wimbish is the whole reason I use pedals in my setup. LIVING COLOUR 4 LIFE.
it might be a good idea to include "Letterman, The Late Show' as search tags for this video. It would get more hits and be easier to find when I have forgotten the name of the song. Just a suggestion.
Damn, one of my dreams is to see them live ... personal reasons didn´t let me attend the ´09 concert in Lisboa, even to this day i still don´t believe i missed this opportunity...please come back to Portugal! Long live Living Colour.
The show I went to a few years ago was just about the best live show I ever saw. I love the new album too. Thank god these guys are back together. Long live Living Colour..
Loved this band - Vernon Reed is a guitar god! This was the most underrated superband. Some avante garde Jazz dudes that wanted to make a metal band. F*&^ me. I wish they were still cranking out the goodness. Great vocals - just gritty but spot on pitch...
@Muddytrickle They are still cranking out the goodness! I have to admit that it took a few listens but The Chair In The Doorway is hands down the best Living Colour yet. They are still relevant. Cory is in top form and Vernon......well, Vernon is still Vernon. The best!
@Anything4adollar - to me a superband is an assemblage of incredible musicians that gave us more than we ever bargained for. The original U.K. was such a band with Holdsworth, bruford, jobson, and wetton. They do not always work. It is nothing more than a broad brush term - meant in a most positive way. Cheers.
love this song, i waited for you to play it in the last Santiago Chile concert, but you didn't play it, i cried for like a week or two ahahahaha, great memories from that concert anyways. LIVING COLOUR!!!! FUCK YEAH!!!!
I also waited for this song and for "Love Rears It's Ugly Head", but they didn't play them...but yes, it was a kick ass concert...I PLAYED DOUG'S BASS GUITAR DURING THE CONCERT!!!!!!!
Are you guys cominmg to Jacksonville,FL? That would be awesome!

When the band lost Muzzy I was extremely saddened. Still am, he was a god on bass and a great bloke. Wimbish just ain't the same.
