  • Macaque society is divided where the only those of the right bloodline get special privileges ? Now where does taht sound familiar ? Ohhhh that's right: Human society Not so much anymore but we've had that same social structure before . It's interesting to think how much we're related to them .

  • That totally went from cute to depressing.

  • @TheUmmwhatever

I know! I wish that the smarter animals didn't have a complex social hierarchy. I hate it.

  • @DopeMcDoperson

Nay, it is exactly the uncontrolled animal-instincts within us humans that give rise to our classes and greed. Animals are born to be selfish by nature, and being unthinking, are thus not really responsible for their selfishness.

What's truly sad is that we humans on the other hand, are able to think consciously and make choices in life...yet most of us are living exactly like unthinking, selfish animals.

  • @Vassy84

Instincts are a myth. To say that we possess the capacity for evil because of "animal instincts" and the ability to rise above them thanks to "human intelligence" is contradictory pseudo science.

Animals are hardly born selfish and are far from unthinking. There are plenty of animal societies wherein selfishness as you've defined it would find one outcast or killed.

Animal behavior, like our own, is formed through cultural influences. Not some magic drive an animal is somehow born with.

  • @FruitChinpoSamurai

i think every guy admits to getting a raging boner for a hot girl... or for no reason at all....

  • @XxMurasamexX

...lolwut? "Boners" aren't instinctual. I... don't understand your comment.

  • @Vassy84

Instincts are unlearned behaviour. It can be called mechanical or hardcoded. Insects are likely to be driven only by instincts. You're likely to see that animals with more complex brains rely more on learned behaviour and are capable of complex analysis. If animals were just instinct driven they would not take part in things like play. Many animals do unselfish actions, you just haven't looked. A completely selfish animals would be a liability in a group, and therefore not the most fit.

  • They looks so japanese :)

  • Wonderful:)
