just got a kso pair. Felt strange at first, now I love em for kettlebell, swiss ball, walk/sprint, I definitely use more of my leg muscles for stabilization. My feet feel great.
I started running in with the Vibram Five Fingers shoes in May this year. They are actually great shoes. It's true that performance goes down because you have to work harder running with them because you are using more muscles. I have the KSO version, which only differs from yours in that the top part of my foot is covered to where the strap pulls over. I can't run as fast in them, but I get a better workout; it's also healthier to run with them because impact is down to a minimum.
Actually, the fact that more muscles and ligaments work means you become more efficient and run naturally, as we were meant to run .. :) Once you are used to barefoot or Vibrams (and all the muscles one hasn't worked via "normal" running shoes are strengthened) you will find that your performance gets better, not worse.
Do you have similar problem to others where the straps dig in to the top of your feet whilst running? Maybe not 'dig in', but atleast irritate and cause chaffing to a degree?
Hey man, If they work out for you that's perfect, but as you run barefoot your feet actually shrink (well...contract) as the muscles previously a victim of nike air induced atrophy begin to strengthen and developed, but like always, if it aint broke don't fix it. They sure are awesome though aren't they!
Yeah, at some point you have to get over that little boy syndrome of wanting to wear a size 13.5 These shoes are made to fit as snug as possible without cutting off circulation. You could probably swim like a dolphin in those!!! Keep on, keep'in on dude!!!
I agree, much too big which he seems rather proud of. Anyway, try running on trails and grass. I run faster in my five fingers than in beefy shoes, but i try my best to avoid asphalt and concrete.

yeah I think you're very proud emphasizing they're size 47
they do look big on you as others have commented
tightening them is not the best for your feet as it can cut circulation
happy to have you on the VFF train, but you should let your body adjust to them more slower-- which i hope by now you are :)
