These are high school teams I played against when I was in high school, the kid who cheap shots the other player and breaks his jaw disgust me. That is what a weak, scared hockey player does. First of all you play Texas high school hockey, that is nothing to be proud of. I grew up playing AAA in Texas and Ive done Jr. camps and Jr. tryouts and if there is one thing I learned its if there is a problem drop your gloves, take off your helmets and square up...dont take cheap shots at kids and then skate away, dont punch anyone with your glove on like every kid on the ice. This video shows only 52 seconds. So it is difficult to tell but based on my experience I must think that it got to this level because the officials let it go to that level.

Also, with that being said, I like hockey, I understand that emotions get pumped, I understand a fight here and there but what's shown on the video from both sides is not hockey, is not a hockey fight and is not something to be proud of from either side.

There must be consequences to those involved. If not, this will repeat.

That first kid Sorelle, who was likely responding to the hit that took place before the video started, is lucky that his blind side hit didn't hurt the kid in the white jersey more. A blindside shot into the boards could have meant paralysis or any kind of neck or back injuries. And the second guy in from the Blue team that did the super fly jimmy snoooka move could have done that without the headshot to make his point and just tackled the kid to retaliate. Too bad it ever got to this level.

I had to think about this situation before I commented because I wanted to let my emotions calm down. I am completely disgusted with the actions of these athletes. Not only is it a sad and pathetic show of sportsmanship, but it shows my son, a nine year old hockey player for the Dr Pepper Dallas Stars House League who has been following all the playoffs, that his 'role models' are nothing but over grown toddlers. Violence is never the answer. These guys need to be charged with criminal assault.
