The car is a Volkswagen Cabriolet.
Cool car, but I don't see it being a "family" car, especially for the Heart Family. This car is more of a teen's car. The Heart Family seems more like they'd drive a first generation Ford Taurus.

I had the Heart Family dolls when I was 3, I named them Maddie & David after Maddie & David on Moonlighting. True fax.
