I remember playing this game on my Atari ST..I remember playing this game so much that I even painted a version of the screen on my Atari 8 bit used Koala pad..I miss playing this.
@genietao1dino ~ I"m familiar w/ the cubex moniker ~ it's like team sonic ~ Cubex is convenient n' cute (if I mite +) reference (FYI) & Ur detailed w/ Ur video descriptions here (helpful & not common) R U familar w/ correcting ~ physx dll not installed error ~ w/ ati chipsets & physx demanding games ~ & ~ physx software has been installed ~ The platform in question: steam & yars revenge
This game was played by me if you look at the subtitle at the beginning of the video. The emulator I used for this game was SainT emulator to play this game. It's even mentioned in the video description what emulator I used. By the way, Cubex55 is not a real person. It's a host account for longplays and accessed by 6 different people.
The karate fighter does not have a name. The person who made the game never gave the karate character a name so the best I can say he does look like Chuck Norris from the 70s but I cannot say it's really him.
Fighting was fun to watch, when they are trying to hit eatchothers from one step away.
Enemies have seems to lost their fashion sense by wearing those silly hats.
And finally the scream. WHAT THE HELL is he yelling? It doesn't sound like a battlecry. More like you yell when someone steps on your foot really hard or something.
Thanks for playing this. Your gameplay videos are always enjoyable to watch.
No, I did not reset. That was the whole intro I ran showing the woman locked up and player making his first fight. After the whole intro ended, it goes back to the title screen. I then press spacebar to start the game. It's like that on Apple II version as well.
I know how the controls work after I got used to it when I first played it. When I battle the falcon bird, the controls feels a bit jerky. Took me a while to figure out how it works.
That I'm not sure. All I can say this game was released before Street Fighter. Probably the first video game with the name Akuma. Street Fighter developers may have of name from this game.
I used to play the shit out of this in middle school. This was around 92 or so, and we had to take these computer classes in school. After work was finished, we could play games, and I ALWAYS played this. And sometimes Carmen Sandiego lol.

The fighter on the right is a better fighter because he's wearing a tin foil hat.

@LordNifty Akuma means Demon. It's just a stereotypical bad guy name. In Japan Akuma is called Gouki, though. Gouki is another way of saying Demon.

Some really nice pixel art and animation in this game. Not surprised to see it's by Jordan Mechner who went on to create Prince Of Persia.
Great vid! =)
