MAXIMAS FOR LIFE. MY 98 had a similar exhaust. u know what i did? i replaced the entire exhaust system with a new one. resignator, the whole thing. I think it's time brother.
Looked a lot like my old exhaust. Did a bunch of transitions with it but now I found thr one I like. 22" cherry bomb glasspack 2" inlet and 2.5" outlet to cheap exhaust tip and man it sounds great. Cheap too! I got a vid of it up on my channel. Check it out!
i'm thinking of getting this car when im able to drive and totally customizing the visual and maybe some of the preformence. it looks like a good car.
I've got the exact same car sitting in my garage, 104k miles on it. Still pulls like a dream, runs fairly smooth. $22k car that has lasted 11 years? Good deal.
Great car indeed. I still have this car as a spare w/ now close to 181k on the odometer. Since shortly after making this video I have replaced the whole exhaust, suspension and brakes. all OE-like.
Yep. In addition to a '07 Saturn Vue at the house (parents car), I also have a '07 Jeep Commander (leased), the Max is more of a spare car & to help keep the miles down on the Commander
from your cars it looks like youve given up on foregin cars right? by the way my 1995 maxima's exhaust with 217K is much much much quieter that that of yours. stock quiet. do you konw why? if it helps I live down in Maryland
Yeah, I'm not going to lie but it still runs and sounds new like the 1st day I bought it in June '95. All it needs now is a new battery. How is your max?
and i wish i had gotten a white 4th gen max, instead it's like a dark green/black color lol And i'm working on removing that damn pin stripe, but i need to just sand it all down, remove dents and scratches and repaint..
Yeah I hear ya on the CEL/SES, they just don't wanna go away ;) . Mine's on for one of the front O2 sensors, haven't had the chance yet to put in a new sensor.
Yeah, i took out the cat o2 and the cel didnt come on, but when i put the A/F ratio gauge on (tied into the pcm) the cel came on, so go figure.. And i know why my abs light is on, it's probably because my right driverside strut is hammered and NEEDS to be replaced, making alot of noise and that's the side that my 1wheel1der is on lol - no LSD trany yet, that's going to have to come later, those damn sensors are expensive though, even if you get a wideband who knows how long they'll last..
Good ol' CEL hehe, mine's on too... as well as ABS.... i think the abs is just a dirty sensor tho and yeah your muffler is shot, looks like the overall condition of your vehicle is rather good though, espically with the winters, i know how they can be, i'm from minnesnoota :)
And winters are soo harsh man, i am taking full advantage of having a southern vehicle it's soo nice, no rust at all! i remember living in mn when i had my first max, one winter and i had rust spots everywhere, it sucks, soo much damn salt you can see it caking up EVERYWHERE - carwashes up north do really well business wise lol
Yeah i know what your talking about, i hated that in minnesota... and it wasnt the snow i hated, i hated the damn 2 inches of salt caked on your car during winter... ulg just ate up your paint job and rusted the hell out of things.. Your exhaust sounds better now though =)
Mate, you don`t have a shame to use a car with that sound and how do you let your muffler get so rusted? Take care of your car better.

I have a 1997 i30 (exact same car) and the exhaust failed within 2000 miles of when this one failed.

she sure is rusty underneath. That sucks.. but it's nothing a good sand, rust neutralizer, and undercoating can't fix :)

it has a problem in the starter wire.
and the muffler rusted off.
but i live in MN so its not that wierd for a 13 year old car.
it runs like a horse tho.
its fast but i want a manual tranny.
i could swap it out or sell it and get a manual one.
not sure tho.

MI winters are almost as bad too! =) To us MI-er's we have 2 seasons, winter & construction. The roads here aren't the greatest either =( .
