I have an E46 330i and the only performance item I have is the Signature Motoring performance CAI for about $160. The performance kit adds around 13.5HP on the dyno, sounds freaking great, and installs in under 30 minutes. Highly recommended.
-13.5 HP increase
-Lifetime filter
-SOUND AWESOME
-30 min. install time
Aside from the power gain, the SOUND is amazing at higher RPM but sounds normal in regular driving. I’m thinking about added high-flow exhaust next.
I love my 328i. Only mod is a Signature Motoring performance intake kit. They run around $170 and add up to 9HP in the E46 323/325/328 and up to 13.9HP in the 330. That's about $17/per extra HP... A good value for the extra oomph. General HP increases are shown:
Most amazing car i ever owned. One of the sexiest, best handling cars BMW ever built. Bought in 5/03 for $59k, sold in 8/08 for $28k. Cant get any better, until the next version :)
I’m happy with my 328i, but the only performance mods are sport suspection and the Signature Motoring performance intake for about $150. Signature Motoring kit adds around 11HP on the dyno, great sound, and the best performance upgrade for the money. See my channel videos!
-Adds 9-11 HP
-Never replace filter again (uses K&N filter)
-GREAT SOUND
-Installs in maybe 30-45 min. K&N filter lasts a lifetime.
the lights that should go off after ive reached prime acceraltion point on the revometer with my 2004 E46 M3 SMG cabrio doesnt seem to work, even in manuel shift mode...can anybody give me some advice? thanx
I didn't want to worry about any wiring or custom setups for my Lincoln LS so I just got an itrip. It projects the music from your ipod onto the radio signal or something like that and it sounds great
you can get a regular AUX jack installed in your M3...you can even do ti yourself....thats what I have and it's enough for me.....good thing is you can connect any MP3 bad thing is you can't control it unless through itself.
umm yes..i dont think you understand what im asking..flashy lights that go off on revometer at prime shifting rpm, they are an option? O.o i thought it was just one of the features of the smg system...or even just a feature of the E46 M3...so basically, your telling me i was suppose to ask the carsaleman to add on the flashy lights? i dunno man lol...

lol "HOWEVER, we found the smg to be far smoother and more refined in operation than the ferrari system"

@edik56 Remember Ferrari is made by Fiat, a real crappy car company

When I miss my E46 M3 during the work day, I love watching videos that feature it in stock condition, just the way I like it :)
Although wider tires, especially in front, have improved it's handling even further.

It's good to see a road test of a new (2003) E46 M3! I get tired of seeing videos of privately owned modded cars!

Yeah I wish there were more.
