I think the vid poster should change the title of this vid. the "this is a crappy video" comment probably puts people off looking, which means they'll go watch the chicago performance, which has terrible audio. in my opinion this is the best example of the old DITNU on youtube and it needs to be seen by more people!
i disagree that this version is better than the studio. this version's beginning is kind of un willing or cautious or shy; the song really kicks in when thom starts playing piano...though johnny playing guitar is nice!! but i consider the studio version much more complete!
This version of the song sounds better for me than the album version. It has more dynamics and a more pregnant bass. Hope they gonna play it the same way on every concert.
i like the creep argument. my favourite album is definitely kid a and my favourite song is kid a no doubt from radiohead but i have to say when thom does the scream in creep i get chills everytime and that doesn't happen with the new stuff as much even though i overall enjoy and respect it more. I think creep is just as great as there new stuff its all music.
Maybe you just don't know anything about music man. And maybe you should just shut the fuck up rather than making yourself ridiculous with such nonsense.
Creep is defenitively not one of their best songs.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Ok man! I'll put my hand up and say I don't know anything about music. Listen here you hippy fuck why don't you stop being a cunting fan boy and live a little, creep is so their best song, go and cry yourself to sleep in your grotty student bedsit and starwars DVD's !!1!!!1
Please enlighten me. Whay's your favorite band? Foo Fighters? oh yeah. A band that will surely be remembered for years as a great contributor to the rock music...
Didn't you ever wondered why there were so many tributes to Radiohead in the music stores? No, probably not.
So please, stop having me laugh. If you can't see what's really good in Radiohead's whole work, just stop spitting at them like that.
well at least you confess to knowing jack shit about music. which makes your original comment null and void... which it already kind of was... due to the sheer stupidity of it. I suppose you think van gogh's best work was a stick man hed did when he was 4.
no good songs since "creep"? what about "how to disappear completely", "pyramid song", all of ok computer, "a wolf at the door", "knives out", "nude", "where i end and you begin", sit down. stand up", "street spirit", etc. etc.
i just had to reply to this. creep is nothing but a commercial song even for them, clearly not their best work. try the bends, ok computer or kid a if you think you can take it. radiohead's magic is in their music's layers. and while not gifted "technically" they are who they are because they are creative as hell and they are not afraid to try something different, if they were we had more commercial songs like creep.
This song is great. The studio version has the epic string orchestration, but I love this just as much. And to whoever mentioned Thom beatboxing in the beginning--yes, he is!
I love how these guys perform in T-shirts and jeans (well phil likes his pin-suits). It's alll about the music, baby; and these cats are masters of it.
this was always my favorite of all the new songs, really cant wait to hear the album version on december 3rd. i've got the feeling that when they release In Rainbows on cd in january it'll be a double album
I must have that bonus disc, it doesn't seem like a bonus to me, seems more like the completion of this brilliant album!! B-sides you say? Pearly, Talk Show Host, Polyethelyne (sp?) these songs aren't B-sides in my book.
I think they are b-sides because they dont really fit in with any of the albums, like talk show host came out when OK Computer did and that song would not have mixed in well with the songs on that album
ed sings the lead at the end. i think he does a pretty good job too. i would really like to hear a radiohead song played with ed singing thoms vocals.
1 year on and this song (esp this performance) completely blows me away. I how I wish they could take this exact version into the studio, polish it up and put it on the album.
im really hoping they make a live mini album like "i might be wrong: live recordings" including this song and videotape live and dare i say true love waits into EIIRP from last tour? *drools*
agreed, jigsaw falling into place(or open pick) sounded amazing too. but my god, this performance of DITNU is just absolutely fucking brilliant. and that jam towards the end... this version really needs to be taken into the studio. are you reading thom!!
What a complex and seductive mixture, the depth sound of Ed's guitar, Colin always having conecction with Phil, Jhony with his amazing brain always can do what he wants and of course Thom, ohh thom yorke¡¡ with that sick voice and body movement. Thats Radiohead, a seductive and complex mixture.
thank you drtchocky. I think im gonna listen all the day that song,(in the new album)..think that the studio version is gonna be just something "Incredible". I can see from this exellent performance
you sir, are revealing signs of retardedness far more than i am, by judging me, the one you don't know, instead of what you should be judging- Radiohead; just a bunch of voices and other sound.
....Music, is just a bunch of sounds and voices. Oh no, all music is now crap going by the "logic" or LfunkeyA..OH NO! Radiohead MUSt be crap, this guy said they were...cleaaarly he knows what he's talking about.
.....Disclaimer, radiohead are the greatest band to ever exist, and LfunkeyA needs to be less judgmental, because he doesn't know what he's talking about.
If you want to be REAAALLy pickey about it, you could say that music is just a carefully arranged series of frequencies designed to draw an emotional response from an audience. but..what use is there in knowing that?
Can't we just agree that Radiohead are amazing, and leave it at that.
