Obviously the world DIDN'T implode, made me kinda happy. But just exactly like in this commercial, I did the same identical thing next morning which dude did here.

No, not near-dawn jogging crap, saying a pleasent "Morning" to the first other runner I met type of thing ... of course not.

The throbbing head-ache, whole bottle of aspirin, hitting bath-room to puke, leaning on a car with the dry heaves thing. Matter-of-fact, same as what I'm doing today, on THIS post-New Years.

Oh yeah! I certainly DO remember THAT New Year. Always thinking safety (cause of what was going to happen that night) & being a legal-type guy ... mostly (no DUI ... please don't do it), I rented a few hotel rooms for my buds. Necessities all in-order ... beer, wine, Dom Perignon (no cheap sh!t THIS night), multiple free cable channels, & a couple varieties of marij ... err, cigarettes, we settled in, did those ... well ... New Year things, waiting for the world to implode on TV.

I miss Y2K... the 90s were fun and 2000 was supposed to be this awesome time when the lights went out and the computers went crazy... I remember there were stores devoted solely to selling emergency supplies for it, my mom even bought a bunch of extra batteries for flashlights lol. And then... nothing happened. And the decade pretty much sucked. Take me back to the 20th century!!!

Y2K did acutally cuase a problem, the August 2003 northeast blackout, they traced it back to the main power plant thingy connecting to the Y2K bug, but that was like 4 years after besides that y2k did nothing but reset clocks on military stuff to 01/01/19000/ big deal, it was fixed quick

Timebomb 2000 was written by a business "guru". While Y2K was a real problem, this guy pretty much set the doomsday tone (playing in with the end of the world superstitions). We'll see some panic again in 2012 (end of the Mayan calendar), then it will pass again until 2038 when the current unix date system runs out.

I was working at a large computer parts supplier in the time leading up to it, and a lot time and effort was wasted freaking out about Y2K. A large part of the problem was a book called "Timebomb 2000".

I figured it was BS too, I was really assured that it wouldn't be a problem when as a test in early '99 I changed my 286's calendar in DOS to 2 minutes before 12 AM and set the date to 12/31/99 and waited 5 minutes, checked the time and date and it read correctly, it didn't melt the casing or make the monitor explode or nothing. If Y2K DID happen like they thought it would, I'd say Spike's commercial perfectly approximates it.
