  • Ửh? is not a word in Vietnamese, it ưould be spelt Ủa?

  • for the word "nguoi", the grave accent is above the "o".

yeah, it doesnt make a difference, but it just looks more natural that way.

just like "toan" for Mathematics -> acute accent is above the 'a'. i think theres no general rule for this, but feel free to ask me if you have questions.

  • did you write all of those worlds by yourself ? wow !!!!!

  • Its good to see a foreigner doesnt say "xin chao" coz i hate it. I teach vietnamese for foreigners and im sick of hearing ppl say xin chao. Simply because a vietnamese will never say that to another vietnamese and i hate it when ppl separate the 2 styles of vietnamese language: Vietnamese for vietnamese and vietnamese for foreigner. Same when they teach "why" instead of "sao the ", "sao vay" ; "for what" they teach "de lam cai gi" instead of sth short like "chi" or "lam gi" . good luck

  • "-V: thật à? thật khó tin bạn học Tiếng Việt lấy."

=>thật à? thật khó tin bạn tự học được Tiếng Việt.

    Chúc bạn thành công!

  • You have good Vietnamese language skills. It seems you have a good approach at independent study in Vietnamese language. I think you can teach Vietnamese pretty well considering you're nguoi My~

  • If you want to practice a vietnamese, so i can help you, i also find some one to practice my english. ^^

  • Someday I hope I will see you in my beautiful country (VN ^^!)

  • Gioi lam! Co gang len! I hope you understand that, though they don't have simples on them. :)

  • you were learning vietnamese a year ago? damn i just got my books a couple hours ago. it wouldve been nice if i was doin it when you were learnin it so you could do a vid about the tones like you did with hmong cuz its my first tonal language and cuz TY isnt making it clear the different between the low falling tone and the falling-rising tone. some sources say it has a break in it some say its pronounced the same :/

  • @dudeonthasopha Yea man. I can still post some stuff up on the tones and what not though.

  • @laoshu505000 that would be awesome ive been workin on them all night and i cant distinguish them really cuz the book gives examples but doesnt really explain how they differ.

  • When I was in Sai Gon, I heard some people roll their R's. But in my Khmer-Viet dialect, my family pronounces the R like an G sound. I'm a little confused about that. I have also heard it pronounced like a Z in Vietnam as well. Which one is, or closer to the original dialect? However I choose to roll the R.

  • @Sonkhmer The Rs are pronounced as a Z in the northern accent.

  • @Sonkhmer

Good question! In the southern Vietnam they roll thier R's. In the northern Vietnam they pronounce it like a "Z". And if you pronounce the R like a "G" sound then you're pronouncing it wrong. Many people can't do the rolling R so they exchange it with a G. But that's not the correct pronouncation.

  • Laoshu, where can I chat with VN people? cam con

  • Laoshu, where can I chat with vietnamese people? Cam on

  • amazing northern pronunciations....!!! :D

  • awesome pronunciation there dude. im totally impressed

  • Awsome ! you are really good in Vietnamese. Noi' rat^' hay.

  • anh nói tiếng việt nghe hay quá, ^^

  • Vang is actually not a common Vietnamese name. It's more like Hmong (an ethnic) than the ordinary Vietnamese (Kinh people).

  • Very Impressive! Interesting that your Viet accent sounds a little bit more Chinese than American to me.

  • anh nói Tiếng Việt nghe dễ thương quá ! Tôi rất thích anh đó nhe. Hi vọng một ngày anh qua Việt Nam, tôi với anh có thể nói chuyện để trao đổi ngôn ngữ hĩ ^^!

  • cảm ơn anh rất nhiều !

  • y'all vietnamese who "hate" north vietnamese people is dumbass. why the f*ck would you bother talking about the stuff happens 30 years ago, you're all grown up now, shake it off.

If the Vietnam war didn't happen and y'all didn't lose the war, none of the Vietnamese is in America right now. So thank Ho Chi Minh for helping you get to the U.S

I love America but I'm also love Vietnam, and their people!

  • i showed this to everyone i know who is vietnamese! everyone agreed that your officially awesome!

  • this is really good.

Just wanna help you st, the sentence "thật à, thật khó tin rằng bạn học tiếng việt lấy". The word "lấy" in this sentence kinda makes it sounds awkward ^^ "lấy" literrally means, "get or take", i dont think you need that word there :P

  • woaaahh u amaze me!!!!!!! hmm the accent you have for vietnamese it sounds northern.

  • at the last line...you wrote..."Tôi thề" That's true but you read it "Thế" it's different! understand me?

  • true.. he made a spelling mistake..

it should mean thế but he accidantly he wrote thề.. (watch the sense of the sentence)

  • Your Vietnamese is goin along quite well. Keep up the good work :)

  • You're Vietnamese is really good. I could say it's even better than mine, I'm Vietnamese but I'm bad at reading and writing in it.

I love the fact that you're learning so many different languages also, it makes me want to pursuit my dream in learning Korean :)

  • Generally, dang is the "present" tense indicator. da is the past tense, and se is the future tense indicator - I find that the easiest way to think about it when using them with verbs

  • Can the majority of that dialogue (words, phrases) be found in the TY Vietnamese?

  • Yes. Pretty much all of these constructions are in the TY series.

  • Cant type in Vietnamese yet, so I'll use English: THANK YOU! You're giving me tons of listing resources! :)

  • không có gì

  • also, english tranlation for đang is "to be in the process of".

  • Yes. I meant that there isn't a direct word for it in English. For example bằng nghĩa là ''in'' or the instrumental case of ''by'' Thanks for the feedback.

  • nhớ tôi rồi? You have slight intonation you should work on!

  • ồ, ý bạn là gì thế? hình như tôi không sử dụng ''nhớ''

  • awsum!

    u speak vietnamese unbelievable!

    pronounciation as well as grammatics.

Just "swear" in vietnamese sounds abit different than how you spoke in the video .We speak : " thề" not " thế"(has a different meaning) ! Check how to speak in dictionary! it might help

    lol

keep it up ! bless ya ! ya got my respect! :))
