Cool idea man, I think what you did was you filmed this with out the monitors with the camera always being in the same position, and then you put the monitors there with a green screen, just a still of it, and combined it with the 1st reordered video, using the green screen to make it look transparent. Such a cool video, but I don't know about video editing skills, I am just guessing.

Look at the massive shadows under the screens. The desktop background is a solid colour and they chroma key'ed it out it like a green screen.

There are so many things wrong with this...

First of all. that left speaker you have set up... it doesn't align with the speaker in the monitor... it does not continue after the screen.

Secondly, why is your right speaker completely behind your monitor?? is that the new way of placing speakers now-a-days?

thirdly, your monitor wires... where do they hook up on the back? they seem to go behind there and disappear on the monitor... VERY UNREAL.

I made my own transparent screen that costs $3,999 less. I just took the backlight off an LCD monitor I got for free.

But it's not quite as cool... it still has the polarizing filter on it so it's more like a tinted window, but it's easy to do :)

I dont understand what is in the back, all i can think of is the backlight, because you can do a projector from an lcd screen and the overhead projector and when you take it apart all your left with is the actual lcd, which is what you place on the overhead projector. It must be the motherboard to connect the computer and adjust the settings, etc

OLEDs have nothing to do with this, you would need to project holographically from those VERY slim areas on the side, the fact is it would have to be a lot thicker in order for it to work, and even then the chances of it working are ridiculous.

So ill say he did it with a plane white background. and then mixed the background with his white wall and the use the background on his LCD as a green screen. And used the chroma keyer. And reduced Threshold.

im thinking that you have recorded yourself doing those hand gestures with a video camera with the screens removed, then you have set that video as a background using dreamscene or other software. Then you have rehearsed those gestures thoroughly and performed the illusion of a transparent screen. Well done nice trick.
