Thank you for your message, sir. I enjoyed reading your comment. I am not sure what " protection" really means not only in this song but also in all other Christian music. Does "protection" mean real protection or not...? Because all people live with many troubles. I am sure the singers in this gospel choir went through a lot of life small or large problems...But they sing thank you for your "protection" ...If they are protected by God perfectly, there is no trouble....

@meteorologico1975 @meteorologico1975 Protection can mean many things financially, mentally (yes people have many problems but only through the grace of God we as christians dont commit suicide or go crazy over them like someone who does not have Christ, we dont over react because of them we take them to God and let Him guide us on how to handle the situation instead of trying to do it on our own and mess it up more.)

I am Japanese, and Christian and singing this song in African American choir at my college. As I understand, this song is talking about the strong faith which is very difficult to keep. Even all of extream disaster, death, tragedy etc happen to us, we remeber Jesus's love and protection and can overcome all extream tragedies. This song brings me feeling of " Thank you" and energy in this tough time as a Japanese.

Thats beautiful. But this song is actually giving god thanks that you are NOT the victim of the tradgedies which are occuring in the world. Giving thanks for gods protection from the tradgedy that other people are experiencing.
