  • It's pretty good, but make sure you add more of a beat at the beginning. It was hard to tell you were playing a reel at first. Just go with some strong down bows, and you'll have it nailed =)

  • Ye did a great job boyo. It's traditionally the song played at a farewell party for someone leaving Ireland. But in America it became the last song played at Wakes. (irish funerals).

    Had my foot tapping.

  • good!

  • Sounds very good! A touch fast, perhaps, but good nonetheless. Keep up the good work.

  • really great vid. you're very talented, please keep them coming!

  • very good but keep your beat steady in the beginning

  • Brilliant work!

  • to start of ouch! very nice tune indeed however spoilt by the common mistakes, good use of ornimantation, however some flat notes and very sqeeky, not worth 5 stars in my opinion pehaps more practise and you will be worth maybe 5 stars? you have much potential! good luck in the future!

  • I THOUGHT A REEL WAS A DANCE???? wat is a reel jig and hornpipe areent they all dances??????? SOM1 HELP!!! LOL

  • they are dance tunes. But the tunes are more famous than any specific dance that is set to them.

  • @4231qwertyuiop it is. In this case, a reel is the music that goes along to the dance, called reel or jig or hornpipe.

basically, all irish music is dancing music, unless it's a slow air.

  • Epic. I love it.

  • Despite my bigger experience in playing violin I wouldn't be able to play like you!! Congrats!!

  • What is it about an Irish reel or jig that is just magic?

    This guy is good!

  • you get a big bonus for your gorgeous sister!

  • You're a brilliant player, would you mind me asking, where did you get the music for that wonderful reel, or did you just pick it up?

  • Great playing. You'll be a master when you get to my age. Have you seen my vids? Cheers.

  • great technique neal ... I would find it very hard to play like that not having developed any recognisable style when I was younger.

best wishes for the future ....if I were your age I would be checking out a zeta jazz MIDI violin :)

    andrew

  • Out of my price range, im afraid. Anyway, I prefer traditional playing. I have got a 10 yr old Yamaha electric which I run thgrough effects for fun.

  • Wow! You are really talented. Just keep playing, it really pays off! I'm a pianist and a flautist and when you get older all the hard work really pays off, awesome job, I'm a fan!
