Yes, I agree completely. I especially like the Thomas Jefferson comparison; another one of my political favorites! Joe should have been on that ticket and NOT Sarah Palin!!!
tifjoking, I wish Joe Lieberman was the nominee for the Democratic Party this year. The reason is because he represents the true values of the old traditional Democratic Party such as Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, John F. Kennedy, Henry 'Scoop' Jackson, Zell Miller, R. James Woolsey, and Tony Blair (Labour Democrat) rather than Barack Hussein Obama. Unfortunately, many from his party has failed to see that in which it is why they boot him in 2006.
I felt that the 2008 U.S. presidential elections felt "un-presidential", I didn't like neither side. During the 2008 Republican primaries, I was a strong supporter of former Gov. Mitt Romney (R-MA), who I believe to be good at turning around the economy because of his economic business experience. After Romney dropped out, I endorsed Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and I was supportive of him until he chose Sarah Palin. I think that was a very bad, reckless move right there in picking a running mate.
Yes, I also supported John McCain until he picked Sarah Palin. When he first picked her, I kept waiting for him to say ,"Live from NYC, it's SNL!!!" LOL. But unfortunately it wasn't a joke. I don't know how he slept at night after making that horrible decision.
I like John McCain as a U.S. Senator and I considered him one of the best U.S. senators in history, but he is not good as a president. A downside of McCain is that if he becomes president, he will be the oldest president in U.S. history surpassing Ronald Reagan. He will also make a lot of bad judgments. I, the news outlets, President Bush and many of his allies thoguht that McCain would pick Mitt Romney. That would be a very strong ticket for the GOP right there and he really blew it badly.
