The song itself was not even written by Seether, so no it is not a personal experience of anyone in the band. The song is about a man who kills a young girl in a car crash. The emotion you see in this video is most likely the result of the timing of the video being shortly after Shaun's brother Eugene's suicide. If you listen to the song from that point of view you can understand his emotion.
