Rob wrote the song one night after Marisol fell asleep in his lap crying. Mari struggles with an auto-immune disease much like Lupa, which destroys its own body. She is doing much better now, but when he wrote that song, they were struggling a lot with her seizures and sickness. He's just saying that he will be there for her all the time...he'll never leave her side. If she goes down, he's going down with her.
