Some of you mis-understanding about Enma. Enma is not same as satan. Enma who make sentence the way to the heaven or to the hell judging acts of the people who are dead is considered as a kind of god in buddism. That is why some people were praying for this god. There are many gods in buddism. There is even "heel" god.

For those interested in more detailed explanations about buddhism I dont recommend watching YouTube videos but rather reading a book about buddism or talking to a buddist.

This is true, Enma is not the same as Satan. However, within a sort video it is impossible for me to explain the details of buddhist religion, nor do I really want to. However the depictions of "Hell" in the temple are strikingly similar to other world religions depictions of hell.

Would the typical person be considered a "deviant" like someone who follows the Church of Satan, or would they also worship regularly at temples dedicated to Heaven (Yin-Yang)? Are there any differences between how a Shinto believer views the Lord of the Underworld and how a Christian views Satan?

Just a rough guesstimate how old are those temples? They are beautiful but just something about the strobe light and recording that doesn't seem quite fitting. Kind of reminds of me a demonic It's a Small world ride...I mean even more evil than the ride, which is saying something.

The majority of buildings in Tokyo are built after 1945 since they were all burned down in the war. So almost without exception the buildings are reconstructions of buildings. Tokyo only really became a major city around 600 years ago so you will find older temples generally in Kyoto.
