Great song, great voice. As a kid I saw this movie and loved it. Now, though the song and her voice still are inspiring, the film is soapy, but still overlooking the obvious poor writing of reasons why the father could not reclaim his love it has nostalgic appeal for me of a simpler time and a simple innocent plot. If they brought it back, rewritten and directed, with a young lady with a similar voice it could be a winner.
