Not too long believe it or not. He was about 6 when I taught him. He caught on pretty quickly. Repitition and reward were the keys with him as I guess they are with most dogs. Now, Sampson can get a beer from the fridge, he can get one out of a cooler, he can recognize people by name and also knows his right from his left. Smart fella!
