The song in the movie that the band is singing is actually "Hole In the Ground" by Helium. If you are looking for a good soundtrack, I wholly recommend the All Over Me soundtrack which has "Hole In the Ground" on it.

is that really leisha hailey's voice when she's singing? because in the murmurs and even in her new band "uh huh her" her voice wouldn't seem to make a sound like that. my first lesbian movie i watched. and then I knew. i also wanted to move to New York Hell's Kitchen (i'm from oklahoma and was 15 at the time anywhere except here.)

No I don't think that is really Leisha Hailey's voice. She is probably lipsinging. The real band is Helium, the song is called "Hole In the Ground". The All Over Me soundtrack rocks by the way, I totally recommend it.

Because Claude had been in love with a girl (her best friend) who wasn't in love with her. The scene was a moment where Claude could let out a lot of her pent up emotions regarding the unreciprocated love so Claude could begin the process of finding love with someone who could love her, in this case Leisha Hailey's character.
