  • Amazing !

  • What is the rope he is pulling attached to? is it part of the rigging?

  • nicely done - however after completely turtleing my Hobie 16 last summer I bought a mast bob !

  • Nicely done, Franz. You made it look easy. At only 70kg I think I'd need to pack on some kgs in order to do that.

  • Good show Franz ..

  • wow... never seen a hobie cap before

  • nice..

  • The technique is - always pull up the boat with the wind. 90 kg is enough for hobycat15.If you want to see better sailing watch my other videos. Same wind, same area, same day, same wind. enjoy --- Franz

  • Wind speed was about 5 bft=about 18-20 knots. This is a good catamaran wind which was helping to pull up the boat. I have about 74 kg of weight. Could also pull up the cat with slower wind when I had a 14 year old boy with me. With 10 knots or less it is imposible for my weight to do it alone. Have fun --- Franz

  • Ok then. So 104ish kg could pull the boat back up?

  • Adding something to that. You think we can pull the boat back up aganst the wind? Probally not though...

  • Iam the men who capsized. I wanted to go into the water because i wanted to show my friends that it is possible to pull up the boat with one person when the wind is strong. Have fun with the film -- Franz

  • Ok, you dont have to answer this if you dont want to but how much did you weigh at the time you pulled it up? And how strong would you say the wind was at the time?

  • Oh, and forgot to put this in there too (you can answer this instead of the weight question), do you think a 95 pound girl and a 135 pound guy can get the boat back up in those winds? But please answer the wind question in knots.

  • ya, when the wind picks up and im about 65-70 degrees in the water i let sails out and jibeout in the direction of the lean

  • I leave the jib as is. The jib won't make me capsize as much as the main sail will.

  • yep thats pretty much how i do it!

  • he made that look so easy

  • I caped day before hurricane charlie...scary if in big swell and wind...yeah freakin hobies and cat sailcraft are the freakin best....heaven on earth

  • perfect

    watch?v=TVlBb6479Ek

  • Nice one! Pretty hard to get one back up from turtled

  • i dont wanna sound stupid, but i sail 420s and if i feel myself goin over, past the point of no return i trim the main way out- why didnt he?

  • I don't know. I sail 4:20's too. When I am about to Capsize, I let the main sheet out all the way and hike like crazy.

  • god damn i love hobies

  • Should have been using the trapeze.

  • We're not as good as this guy but just did exactly the same think at ClubMed Sicily - we had to be rescued !!

    Goog Video!

  • That is the largest swimming pool I have ever seen.

  • alta ich hab noch nie einenen cat durchkentern sehn geil!!
