I have been a Democrat all my life, but I can no longer support a party who acted as the party did in the primary. My reasons begins with you stalling/preventing the Fl/MI revote;continues with the party's actions at the Rules/Bylaws mtg.
The party substituted their will in place of MI voters, giving Obama 59 delegates he did not earn. That is cheating, pure and simple. In additiion you allowed, even encouraged a select few (the super delegates)to override the will of the people by casting their elite votes to the loser of the popular vote
My note to H.Dean Part 3...sorry I couldn't get it in 2 parts.
3rd part:
I will be voting for McCain in the Fall, and will also be voting against my Democratic congressman, who I vehemently supported 2 years ago, to protest his casting of his super delegate vote weeks before our state, and the people he was elected to serve voted.
That is unconscionable in my mind and does not represent the democratic ideas I have held dear all my life. I AM NOT ALONE IN THIS.
Obama did not win. He was annointed by the media and appointed by the DNC. Obama fought the Fla/Mich revote at a time when it would have mattered because he knew he couldn't win.Instead he stalled the game and ran out the clock. The final insult was Saturday when the DNC GAVE Obama 59 delegates from Michigan which he DID NOT earn.Obama DID NOT win with pledged delegates...he won with the DNC cheating and the Supers, who didn't have the gumption to go against the annointed and appointed one
Why are you still arguing about delegates? If the tables were turned, Hillary would have fought seating ANY delegates from FL/MI.
Even w/o 59 from MI, he still won.
He won pledged delegates by 107. There is no math with or without FL/MI where Hillary would have won. The popular voting math which Hillary claims was a sham. It only attests to her lack of integrity that a lawyer, (who should know better), would even suggest her calculation as a fair assessment of the public will.
Sorry, Mr. Dean, I can't possibly vote for your candidate, nor contribute to the DNC. If your chosen nominee, can't stand by a central premise of his campaign, why would I vote for him? Flowery speeches and double talk don't do it for me, Mr. Dean. Neither do lying, cheating, and bribing your way into the White House. Neither does race baiting, disrespect, inexperience, nor incompetence.
The Republicans could have overturned Roe V Wade anytime between 2001 and 2006. The had the Supreme Court, the White House, the House and Senate and they never tried because they would lose a campaign issue. And how is fraud in caucuses playing a fairer game? Maybe you need to study a bit then come back when you see who and what your Obamessiah really is. 200 cases with 2000 complainants of voter fraud by Obama supporters in Texas caucus alone.
Possible but improbable. Remember Harriet Miers? A 5/4 verdict on such a case would not only have been critically suspect would certainly have affected the elections. If the election looks 2b Obama landslide, expect a push btw Oct and Dec.If McCain wins, expect it in the first year.
RE:Fraud,I'll look into it. Casual observation revealed cheap shots, race-baiting, disrespect, lies, bullying the supers primarily from the Clintons. If the SD race was reversed, Obama would have conceded in March.
RE: the repetitious Obamessiah and Obamabot comments, look deeper in my posts, I think you'll find that while I support Obama and prefer him to Hillary I only expect him to do the best he can do. I do not expect him to reverse 2oo+ years of political tarnish-- but he'll be working on it NTL. I also appreciate whether by luck, good timing or actual deservedness that the world community seems to favor him. He's an intelligent guy, he'll choose a good cabinet of complimentary great minds.
If Obama wins, that will just prove that the DNC doesn't need the feminazi vote.
If McCain wins, say goodbye to reproductive rights, your personal freedom, the middle class, the land of your children and the English language because we'll be speaking Chinese after the debt rises with another war in Iran.
Anyone who dismisses the DNC because they didn't get their way when the Obama campaign played a fairer game than the Clintons is the jackass
HireHeelsDotCom has gotten thousands of hits in the last 48 hour ---- this is sooooo NOT over....we're organizing a MILLION WOMAN MARCH in Denver - NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS (sugardaddys for Hillary welcome to join ;-)
ife-long democrat is cutting from the so-called Democratic party and running to be an Independent. I will be cutting up my registration card and mailing it to the incompetent DNC Chairman Howard Dean along with a copy of my new registration as an Independent. Should your conscience so lead you, I encourage you to take this extra step of making Mr. Dean aware of your secession.
It was the Democratic party that put Hillary on the ballot.
Your whining amounts to 'If I can't get my way, I quit.'
Hillary didn't stick up for Florida when it mattered because she was SO convinced that the primaries would be over on Super Tuesday. Later, she needed FL(Even with full FL rep, she still lost) so she cries foul play.
FL and MI did more for Hillary's campaign off the electoral college vote than they would have done on it.
Actually Obamaton She did call for the delegates from Florida and Michigan to be reinstated BEFORE Florida even had their primary. Obama talking point disinformation will not work when the AP published an article about it January 25th. Obama was also originally for the delegates being reinstated until polls showed him getting his ass kicked.
Those you see following the Obamessiah are not Democrats, though the species may try to look similar. They are in fact nothing but JACKASSES!
The Florida primary date was decided in September of 2007, she had plenty of time to persuade the DNC and the RNC of Florida if she really thought it was going to matter. She didn't do anything because Hillary was a megalomaniac, hopefully, that's fixed now.
Obama did not win. He was annointed by the media and appointed by the DNC. This is so pathetic. When Hillary was the front runner she could've cared less about FL and MI. Harold Ickes was on the rules committee, and just like Hillary when it doesn't suit their purpose now it's time to cry foul! If Obama were in Hillary's place Hillary supporters would be furious. People who raise a fuss about FL/MI don't care about the states who supported Obama. They only want the votes for Hillary counted and for the Supers to overturn the Pledged D's.
We Democrats will be united after our nomination process is completed, but only if that process is completed justly and in fair representation of the opinions of the members of our party. We believe nominating Hillary Clinton is the only way our party can guarantee victory in November.
"Senator Clinton is ahead in the popular vote, and neither candidate can secure the nomination with pledged delegates alone. The automatic delegates can change their mind up until their vote at the convention, and that is why this nominating process must be resolved in August, and no earlier."
2) That assumes no one in the whole state of MI would vote for Obama in the general
3) Does not count Barack's vote lead in the caucus states
Hillary's non-concession speech was inspiring until she refused to conclude it with a congrats to Obama. Had she had the dignity to not be such a sore loser, I would have welcomed her to Obamas ticket. As it is, I think she deserves only a mediocre cabinet-level position.
obama made it racist when he chose his racist church 20 years ago - "BILLARY" as you call them - are not racists. Why would they have dedicated their entire adult lives to civil rights? Yet the African-American base has dissed them faster than you can say JEREMIAH WRIGHT
I respectfully disagree. When you see nothing wrong with using racism to wedge an election, than you are a racist, in every sense of the word. A person of integrity would never stoop so low.
Obama is in excellent health - He often jogs three miles and has no "excess" body fat. He has a healthy blood pressure of 90 over 60, low cholesterol and a strong heart.
It seems to me the people who have spoken is a committee ... The voters don't really have a full say do they? Why even bother with the rest of the Primaries... after all everybody knows it's designed that Obama be the nominee...but darn it Hillary is in his way.
Hillary's only argument,'she has more popular vote' is nothing but a shell game.
This argument disenfranchises the voters of the Caucus states. Her campaign fought a revote for full representation(suggested by Obama campaign). Her argument doesn't take into consideration the MI voters who didn't vote because Obama wasn't on the ballot, nor those who voted "other".
If you're going to 'project', or represent: Obama wins by Elected and Super delegates, popular Vote, McCain-matchup, etc.
Hireheels says: "Suck My Caucus"...a few thousand in caucuses VS. millions in primaries...caucuses not only DO NOT represent the WILL OF THE PEOPLE, but serve as a breeding ground for Obamabot intimidation & corruption....which is WHY there are numerous lawsuits being filed right now....disgusting tactics (more to come on this)
Hireheels: a few thousand is the maximum margin that Billary might claim her "adjusted net" of votes. Not to mention the fact that those thousands of Caucus-ers represent states of MILLIONS. More people in the US favor Obama. If your minds are as bad as Hillary's math, you should be denied the vote anyway. Obama's concession of delegates in FL and MI was more than fair, considering what a cheater Hillary is. Her camp, after all, was the camp that rejected a revote for full delegation.
and that sounds fair to you - thousands representing MILLIONS - GIVE ME A BREAK - not even close to a fair representation of the people's will - and how bout those reports of college age Obamabots spitting on the opposition in Austin...NICE!
Obama supporters should apologize for that. OTOH, it doesn't reflect on the candidate near as badly as Hillary's assassination comments, Hillary's camp bullying the party and the superdelegates, Bill and Geraldine's racist remarks, Rendell's encouragement of the same, etc. Excluding Chelsea, Billary's campaign has been awful, self-serving, cheap-shot driven... scorched earth... dishonest to say the least.
Florida and Michigan did not obey the law the candidates and party agreed to.
Next time follow the rules. The DNC isn't Bush/Cheney-town. You don't get to change the rules because you feel like going earlier than the rest of the country. They will spank you.
Why was he not on the ballot? Why did he choose to remove his name from the ballot? That takes more political savvy than his professed reason for untimely date for the primary.
It was an ILLEGAL election, period! It was agreed upon AHEAD OF TIME by ALL candidates that it would NOT count. It was suggested by the DNC to take your name OFF of the ballot, which ALL candidates did EXCEPT for Hillary.
The election was illegal, yet yesterday the party agreed to seat delegates, THAT is a huge deal!
The real question is why did Clinton keep her name ON the ballot. Do ya think it could be because her camp thought it might be useful down the road if they needed to challenge the legitimacy of the process, as they are doing now? When this campaign started, I had a measure of respect for Hillary Clinton, but that has long since dissolved in the bile of her and her campaign's lies, innuendos and dirty tricks.
to hear M.Brazile's comments. She said that when she believed Hillary would win with Supers. Now that it looks like Obama is going to win with the Supers...not the elected delegate count or the popular vote, but by the Supers, I'm sure she has reconsidered her stance.
Donna Brazile stated earlier that she would leave the DNC if the Supers, and not the people (translated # of real votes...not delegates) elected the candidate. Let's see if she lives up to her word, and does leave...like so many others of us will in the fall, if our only choice is an APPOINTED candidate. NO MORE APPOINTED PRESIDENTS. Listen to the will of the poeple. The candidate with the most votes should win.
"My mama always taught me to play by the rules, and to RESPECT those rules. And my mother ALSO taught me, as I am sure your mother taught YOU...that when you decide to CHANGE the rules, ESPECIALLY [in the] middle of the game [or the] end of the game, that is referred to as CHEATIN'."
Didn't you change the rules mid stream when neither candidate was going to secure the delegate majority? By using Obama's delegate count whether he earned them or not (MIchigan) and minimizing Clinton's argument for popular vote is in itself divisive. Your party's dismissive attitude toward Senator Clinton is transparently biased no matter glowing are the false words of respect you claim. Is unity possible? Now you want to know how to use Hillary as the "workhorse" for your party.
its soo sad that the people in mi and fl do not see what went wrong. I think every resident should think about the people in there state that decided to go against the rules. i do not go against the rules the dnc made. I go against representatives who though they were to good to follow the rules. i am very sad to know they were right. in nov we will see another dispute in fl with the vote at the end. nothing changes i see it now , the last state to vote will be florida so they decide winner
'shortpantskulat' no honey YOU will have to deal with it. all of it! if he gets in ... you fell for his lies, you can deal with his bullshit, there is no turning back once he gets in...hahahahaha!
What lies are those, sweetie? That he's secretly a Muslim? That he hates America because he won't wear a flag pin? That he shares the same views on race as his former paster Rev. Wright, or that he's in cahoots with Bill Ayres, like Hillary insinuated in the ABC debate?
There's been plenty of bullshit in this campaign, but it's not coming from Obama.
you are just another sore person with a battered woman syndrom, who makes excuses for his every fabricated story and every movement until one day he will kill you.
So you're calling me a self-hating feminist because I as a woman do not support one specific woman as president against one specific man? That's insulting the intelligence of ALL women. I support Obama because I agree with the policies he has put forth, and because I think he would be better for this country than Clinton. Women can think for themselves. To say a woman should support another woman just BECAUSE she is a woman is like saying black people should only vote for black people.
there is only one thing he has done as a senator do you know what it is? Does that support you? Good then shut up and sit down! people like you continue to support obama we will be the next iraq
Obama will never win as he is a whimp and only knows how to act like a cheap chicago hood. Trust me you will need boxes of tissues. I will be laughing as i hand them out in Denver.
"wimp" and "Chicago hood" are mutually exclusive - can't have it both ways. :)
He's fighting fair and you're just making up excuses because you want Hillary to win. She was the presumptive nominee until the voting season actually began, and now Hil supporters don't know what to do about it. He's been more than respectful of her campaign, but it's gotta end sometime, and the longer she drags it out the worse off our party will be in the general election. It's time to end it.
Obama was on the ballot in Michigan and he chose to take it off. That is his own stupidness. He does not deserve 1 vote from Michigan. Florida should not have been 1/2 votes either. Obama did not want anything to do with Florida and did not want a revote either. He turned his back on Florida and Michigan and he would do that as a President. He is not capable of being even a senator. Hillary 2008
Clinton's camp insisted Obama shouldn't get any pledged delegates in Michigan since he chose not to put his name on the ballot, and she should get 73 pledged delegates with 55 uncommitted. Obama's team insisted the only fair solution was to split the pledged delegates in half between the two campaigns, with 64 each.
Listen Fl and Mich. cannot blame the DNC for what happened they need to blame those in FL and Mich who decided to move their elections up. you cannot decide to break the rules and cry afterwards. WTF is wrong with people, i guess we should now release all the people from Jail that broke the rules
hireheels agrees cougar...we strongly believe Dean did this unprecendented move on purpose - to handicap clinton...COULD OBAMA WIN ANY OTHER WAY - ...this gal says: NO WAY!
Let me clarify since I can't edit comments. I mean, not only blame it on your republicans in your states, but also on the democrats. That is what that link is for.
Hireheels...I've been reading your responses and I must say I'm unimpressed with your harping on the rules. First off, if you want to place blame on anyone, place it not on Obama or his campaign, but on your own state legislatures. Your states were wanting to gain their own special seats in the primaries, and please, don't blame it on the Republicans in either of your states. Check this out - watch?v=BfmcYQu38hU. But hey, don't let facts get in the way of a good story, right? *shrugs*
have u been watching this election , both democrat cand. voted to exclude mich and florida before all this happened . what happened did hillary forget about that , or no it was a relapse in memory , i am sure. I have been watching this election for soo long its crazy. It is time for the general election against repub. next time we will ask the cand. to speak now or forever hold there peace before they agree to something
i thought i would speak as a fl resident . I thought my vote was not going to count soo i did not go and vote for obama , what about me. i want to vote. I was anger my stupid representive broke the rules and got us disqualified . Its crazy how the rules don't matter anymore, u can do whatever u want and not care because in the end u can always cry wolf. And beg for the rules to be overturned even if u voted for the same rule u are requesting to change
we all know the rules were rigged for obama...he couldn't POSSIBLY have won otherwise - he could NEVER have won FLORIDA - your state and mine.....he was WAAAAY behind in MICHIGAN...and frankly, Clinton would have been the nominee months ago had Dean not stripped these states. So, just realize your candidate wasn't even strong enough to win the primaries without major inside help from dean - so you can suck my caucus!!
Amen - I bet there are a lot more people just like you who have been screwed over because of the DNC's initial decision. There is no good ending to this situation. Now that a compromise has been made, let's all unite around the nominee. Taking this to the convention is the biggest mistake EVER. We have to concentrate on McCain now - I for one have had enough of a Bush presidency.
This is so shortsighted - these states broke the rules, Hillary agreed to them and then went back on it. Obama isn't even on the Michigan ballot, and his campaign still conceded votes to Hillary. If you all are determined to break up this party and give the election to McCain by taking this to the convention, you're not thinking in your own best interests and you're screwing us all. You may as well vote for Nader. I'm so disappointed in America today.
Everyone knows the rules were rigged by howard dean to ensure a super far left candidate (while avenging his own implosion) - the dnc is such a sham - it deserves another failure in november for failing its core constituency...how interesting that other states that broke Dean's laughable R U L E S suffered NADA!!
I agree that it was a mistake for the DNC to "penalize" Florida and Michigan by not counting their votes - we're in a huge mess because of it. But Hillary agreed not to put her name on the ballot and then went ahead and did it anyway, and now she flip-flopped on whether the votes should count. Because Obama followed the DNC rules he doesn't get the votes he might have gotten, so you can't change the rules after the fact. Clinton's just capitalizing on your situation because she's losing.
We all know that the party broke the rules but the issue is the voters. DO NOT cheat the voters who showed up and voted. DO NOT cheat the voters for what party officials did. COUNT ALL VOTES!!! MY God we are the Democratic party and lets start acting democratic. The first thing we can do is get rid of Howard Dean.
All churches are into polotics, not just Obama's. It's political to feed the hungry, clothe the needy, help house the homeless whether white, black, red, brown or yellow. If your church is not doing these political things then that's why America's in a mess. Just sitting Sunday mornings listening to a preacher say espouse God loves you, Jesus loves you and so do I weak feel-good theology for kids and the uncommitted.
Mrs. Clinton agreed with the DNC when they ruled on the outcome of FL and Mich., after they held their their primaries ahead of time, Once she realized she was losing the race she flipped flopped to disagreeing, with the DNC. She feels as if she is entitled to being the president, do you really want someone like this to be your president?
hireheels on the ground in DC - major buzz - lotsa peeps - tomorrow's rally is NEUTRAL - favors not the candidates, but COUNTING EVERY VOTE!!! Make sure your signs are apropos - and look for the DissNfranChise sign!!
Let me explain to you my friend. Florida did what they call frontloading so it can be in the Media and have a bigger say so in the primary. The rule which Florida agreed with , specified that: if the state moved up its election date the vote would not count. Expo Facto rules are unethical . You are asking the DNC to cheat. How do you count Michigan when Obama was not on the ballot?
The rules are changing on Obama, the bar is being raised. Everything to stop the Obama express
How is Obama's church still getting a tax exemption?? They are not allowed to be so political and still get a tax exemption. We, the people, need to rise up and complain to the IRS!!
Are asking or telling us ...? Mayor Menino is a huge Hillary Supporter - i know - i'm from Boston too!!! Send me your email address and I will try to find you transportation!
Are we going to allow the Supers to force us to have another APPOINTED...NOT ELECTED President? The Supremes did it to us the last time, now the Supers are intent on doing so.
the idiots will destroy the party -- FL & MI broke the rules --they should get half the delegates seated like the republicans as a punishment--even if all seated --clinton will still be behind --get over it folks --democrates majority selected obama --end of story
Eigammal44: Senator Obama's camp "broke the rules too" in MI. According to info on his own website. Rep Conyers was instrumental in implementing it. And of course Obama did advertise for 2 weeks in FL— against the rules as well! So before you have all the facts don't chastise anyone for being angry that their legally cast and certified vote didn't count!!
this is our country. The DNC doesn't get to pick their boy. Let's figt back. Let's fight for HILLARY!!! Popular vote. Most QUALIFIED Candidate for the Presidency of the United States. Let's fight for a better America! GO HILLARY!!! Most electable in November.
DNC know Hillary Clinton will put out country back where it was in 90's. I bet they are all scared of a women leading out country. Believe me with all my heart, I will do anything for McCain to be out President instead of Obama. It has been taken away from Hillary Clinton. It's Hillary if not, than def. McCain !!!
Oh, so our future will be better with another inexperienced President who voted "present" over 100 times when he was in the Illnois State Senate. Give me a break. Our country will be in worse shape than it is now if Obama, like Bush, gets appointed as President...this time not by the Supremes, but by the Supers. Give me McCain any time over Obama.
You act like this race was not fair. Your right, it wasn't. Hillary Clinton, of the Clintons that occupied the white house. The Clintons who out the gate were more connected to every politician in the Democratic Party and way more superdelegates than Barack. The Clintons with strong ties to the communitys in every state and territorys and countries. The hundred million dollar Clintons. They had the advantage from the start, Barack worked hard to win people over. Operation Chaos at work here?????
It appears that many "life-long Democrats" are just filled with hatred when things don't go their way. THAT's what's wrong with the party. Not the DNC's attempts to follow rules set a long time ago.
It's people claiming to be "Democrats," who would rather vote for the candidate prolonging war, keeping tax cuts for the wealthy, and continuing the failed policies of Bush, rather than support the Democratic candidate for the sake of our future.
If Michigan and Florida supers are seated with full voting powers, Obama with then have 2090.5 delegates in the bag, just 40.25 (super) delegates short of the new magic number.
If Michigan and Florida supers are seated with half voting powers, that would put Obama even closer: just 39 (super) delegates from triumph.
I believe Hillary has a Great chance in the election, in fact if Obama was not in her way she and McCain would have a healthy race, and Hillary would win of course... lol
After 35 years as a Dem, I'll be reregistering as "unaffiliated" here in Nevada. I'm leaving the party that's left me, that's railroaded LOSERS to the nomination, that contrives rules that forward an agenda and rob citizens of their votes, treats the most qualified candidate like shit, and has become nothing more than an OXYMORON run by morons. If Hillary doesn't get the nom.,which she deserves, I'll vote for the second most qualified candidate: McCain. We're sick of extremists in both parties.
What's at stake in this election? Healthcare, the war in Iraq, appointments to the court, the environment? Where do you stand on these? Are you willing to ignore these issues to protest the election? You want a market based health care system? A hundred year war in Iraq? Judges on the court that take away a women's right to choose? Soft environmental policies? Is that what Hillary would do?
This hardcore democrat will never vote for Obama.. obama is not to be trusted... if hillary is not the dems nominee, my family, friends and i will vote for mccain.... we are sick of the media , DNC bias actions and sick of the sexism ..... If Hillary is not the dem choice, american better prepared for mccain, because we will hand the election over to mccain
It's time to clean house in the Democratic Party.I suggest we start with Howard Dean, Donna Brazile and Nancy Pelosi...and, all the other ELECTED supers who vote in opposition to the states they were elected to serve? This Obamamania is not democracy. Don't call me a racist, because this Democrat would vote for Colin Powell any day. And, I believe Harold Ford, Jr. would make an excellent Vice President and someday President. I hope Hillary selects Harold Ford, Jr. as her running mate!!
Come on Hilary, we're behind you. TO YOU DEAN: DISENFRANCHISE 2 STATES IN THIS GREAT NATION, YOU WILL HAVE A REPUBLICAN IN THE WHITE HOUSE FOR THE NEXT FOR YEARS.
Howard Dean, the architect of another Yeehaa moment. Howard, thank god you never became President. You have tried to steal this election like Karl Rove did to us. The Democrats such as Edwards KNOW HOW TO TALK ABOUT COUNTING VOTES, BUT NEVER BOTHER TO DO SO. Hilary is about actions, Obama is about words. Hilary has proven she has more *alls than McCain and Obama. If they criticized Obama like they did Hilary he'd have flapped his ears so hard, he'd have gone up like the blue streak he is.
Great video. I wonder if the DNC even knows what it has done to the Democratic Party. They have divided us and have told us basically that we aren't needed in the "new democratic party." They don't need my "working class" vote because they have new voters (College Students). Well DNC have fun getting money out of people living off of student loans and their partents money because you will not be getting any of my hard working money. McCain and the Rebulicans will enjoy my vote in November.
Fantastic video! This primary season has so disheartened me. I used to think that only Republicans used dirty tricks and downright deceit to force their way onto the American public. Now I see that if another woman is the candidate, the Democrats have no problem in doing so, either. Shame on the Democrats. And yes, I will vote for McCain in the fall if Obama is forced upon us as the Democratic nominee. For the first time in 35 years of voting. I'll even volunteer for his campaign.
what really pisses me off is if the situation were reversed and obama won florida and michigan and was trying to get their votes counted he would be portrayed by the media as the beacon of honesty and true democracy and hillary would be the deceitful shrew playing by the old rules of 'politics as usual.' but if it's hillary who wants their votes to count she is a "machiavellian" villian who "will do anything to win." axelrod has figured out how construct the narrative and the media eats it up.
When it happen in 2000 shame on them! Here it is 2008 if they do it again it would be shame on me but they won't do it a second time because i will vote McCain!
Watch HBO's movie "Recount" and then tell me FL & MI don't count and then dismiss the notion that a candidate winning the popular vote should WIN. Oh wait - does that only apply to male candidates? I vote HRC or I vote McCain. Count THAT!
6 months ago, if Obama fairly won the primary, I'd have voted for him in Nov, in spite of believing Hillary the better/stronger candidate. But 5 months of media bias and MISOGYNY, + the Obama campaign's backdoor attacks, shows this campaign hasn't fair or open.
& I want no part of the divisive "movement" that creates the hatred spewed by "obamaniacs" on news sites & blogs.
I won't vote McCain...but I'll write in Hillary, or find a woman running as an independent who shares my values!
The DNC is shoving Obama down everyone's throats. That's why they don't want to count the votes in Florida and Michigan...because THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN and HILLARY IS OUR CHOICE. If Obama is the DNC nomineee, this Democrat will be casting her vote for John McCain. Every vote should be counted. To not do so means WE DO NOT LIVE IN A DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY.
All votes should be counted. The media and DNC have been baised all along. Some issues are OFF LIMITS for Obama. No issue should ever be off limits. I have voted for 34 years as a Democrat. However, if this presidency id forced down my throat. I will vote for McCain. I have no trust or regard for Obama. He has not addressed the issues and even side steps them. I do not want another president that does on the job training, we all suffered 8 years of that with Bush.
Count all the votes and seat all the delegates from MI and FL. Obama took his name off the ballot in MI to pander to Iowa -- that was his business and his tough luck. He can't have it both ways. He also campaigned in FL. Quit pandering to him! Shame on you DNC!
I have NEVER missed voting in an election (even local) and I haven't voted for a Republican in my life. That said, there is NO WAY ON EARTH I can vote for Obama-and I'm from Illinois. Regrettably, I am so angered by the disrespect Hillary is receiving FROM HER OWN PARTY that I am seriously considering voting for McCain as a protest vote. The *best* case scenario is I don't go to the polls. By the way, my husband is so pissed about this he's not hesitating to vote for McCain.
Just saw "Recount" on HMO. The Democratic Party is doing to Florida and Michigan what the Repubs did in 2000. Just as dishonest! I will NOT vote democratic this year if Florida and Michigan are not counted! This will be the first time in my life (40 years of voting). I have never seen any candidate treated as poorly as Hillary has been treated and by her own party. Shame on you DNC. SHAME ON YOU!
EXACTLY how I felt when I watched HBO's RECOUNT last night - GREAT MOVE, btw!!! I was also struck at the lack of 'fight' in the democratic party - as compared to the Republicans. Fast fwd. to '08 and the Dems have one of the toughest fighters the party's ever seen...and what do they do to her - THEY PUNISH HER FOR IT. I will NEVER understand this party ... and I would love her to run as an INDEPENDENT!
Howard Dean and the media have the fix in. Hillary is being railroaded. She is the best hope for our nation's future. She is the only one who can get our nation out of the incredible mess it's in. IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO CORRECT THIS. History is not yet written! Superdelegates, you can put our nation on the right track and get Hillary in the Oval Office. It's what must be done for our party and for our nation to survive.
it is a travesty! the democratic party attempting to marginalize and/or discard voters. it is equally shameful that obama supporters would try to obstruct votes from being counted. don't they realize that we are all, us? hillary has proven herself to be the leader that we all yearn for, and then some...
is there a phone number to the dnc that we can contact and advocate for our votes being counted? an email address? who comprises the dnc membership, besides dean?
BRING AS MANY PEOPLE YOU CAN BECAUSE OBAMA WILL BE BUSING HIS SUPPORTERS FROM NATIONWIDE!
Supporters of Barack Obama's presidential bid are planning to demonstrate outside the Saturday meeting in Washington where Democratic officials are slated to debate the seating of the Florida and Michigan delegations at the party's summer convention.
This is the United States of America. I don't give a damn how the idiots in the state legislature messed up and landed themselves in this mess, but every last person who voted should be counted. This is a democracy, where we count everyone's votes whether they're a man or a woman or black or white or anything in between. And even if their state legislature made a mistake.
COUNT THE VOTES OR COUNT ME OUT ! I like that CAT!GRREAAAT Video hireheels. THIS IS WHERE IT IS AT FOLKS! THE INTERNET IS THE EQUALIZER. IF WE CANNOT GET FAIR AND HONEST COVERAGE ON THE MSM WE WILL HAVE TO CREATE IT OURSELVES ON THE NET...YOUTUBE, BLOGS, FACEBOOK, MYSPACE, HILL FORUM, TAYLOR MARSH ETC. TO HELL WITH THE BIASED OBAMA 24/7 FREE ADS ON MSNBC, AND NBC, CNN, NEW YORK TIMES ETC. GO HILLARY.... ALL THE WAY TO THE WHITE HOUSE!
The DNC and the Media has overtly been bias and has cheated the American people. They have taken over this election and decided to put in an inexperienced lying little puppet rather than have the ONLY experienced viable candidate. Because she's a WOMAN?? The lies and sexism portrayed in this election by the DNC, the party bosses and the MEDIA has been truly astonishing and simply disgusting. For the first time in my adult life, I'm really ASHAMED of my country.
Ooh, ooh, I know. He took his name off of the ballot so that he could try to embarass Hillary and curry favor with Iowa and New Hampshire. It's what we in the industry call 'a two-fer'.
Obama blocked the revote. Obama campaigned in FL against the rules. Obama's campaign had a ground force in MI telling his supporters to vote Uncommitted.
I got an answer, because he was told it would not count. MI has a favorable constituency for Obama. No doubt in my mind he would have done better than 'other/not decided' had he been on the ballot. Also, independents like me tend to favor Obama. In states like mine (AZ) independents were not permitted to vote int the primaries. Hillary's case for the popular vote is purely in dimensions of her imaginary math. She is a cheater.
Obama TOOK HIS NAME off the ballot himself. So, Clinton should be punished because of this. JUST ANOTHER FIXED ELECTION..... AND Saint Obama campaigned illegally in Florida. Again, should Clinton be punished? NO...OBAMA should be for that... good bye DNC....
As a LIFELONG Democrat, I will be leaving the party AND voting for MCCAIN in November. Never has it been so blatantly obvious that the DNC and the super delegates are deciding FOR THE PEOPLE... and have the nerve to tell us our votes count. WHAT A JOKE. This is the most disgusting election run by the DNC and the NEWS MEDIA I have ever seen. Count the votes or COUNT ME OUT of the party.
Search JustSayNoDeal on the net to learn how we can say NOBAMA in November. This nomination is not sewn up yet. Our voices will be heard in August!!

My note to H.Dean - 2 parts
1st part:
In response to his request for a contribution.
I have been a Democrat all my life, but I can no longer support a party who acted as the party did in the primary. My reasons begins with you stalling/preventing the Fl/MI revote;continues with the party's actions at the Rules/Bylaws mtg.
Coenfan 3 years ago 4
My note to H.Dean - 2 parts
2nd part:
In response to his request for a contribution.
The party substituted their will in place of MI voters, giving Obama 59 delegates he did not earn. That is cheating, pure and simple. In additiion you allowed, even encouraged a select few (the super delegates)to override the will of the people by casting their elite votes to the loser of the popular vote
Coenfan 3 years ago 4
My note to H.Dean Part 3...sorry I couldn't get it in 2 parts.
3rd part:
I will be voting for McCain in the Fall, and will also be voting against my Democratic congressman, who I vehemently supported 2 years ago, to protest his casting of his super delegate vote weeks before our state, and the people he was elected to serve voted.
That is unconscionable in my mind and does not represent the democratic ideas I have held dear all my life. I AM NOT ALONE IN THIS.

ED: go ahead, vote independent or McCain.
If Obama wins, that will just prove that the DNC doesn't need the feminazi vote.
If McCain wins, say goodbye to reproductive rights, your personal freedom, the middle class, the land of your children and the English language because we'll be speaking Chinese after the debt rises with another war in Iran.

She lost. End of story.
21Mar08myChannel 3 years ago

TAKE NO PRISONERS:
We Democrats will be united after our nomination process is completed, but only if that process is completed justly and in fair representation of the opinions of the members of our party. We believe nominating Hillary Clinton is the only way our party can guarantee victory in November.

TOP DEMS TODAY:
"Senator Clinton is ahead in the popular vote, and neither candidate can secure the nomination with pledged delegates alone. The automatic delegates can change their mind up until their vote at the convention, and that is why this nominating process must be resolved in August, and no earlier."
hireheelsdotcom 3 years ago
That popular vote count was shit.
1) Puerto Rico doesn't vote in the general
2) That assumes no one in the whole state of MI would vote for Obama in the general
3) Does not count Barack's vote lead in the caucus states
Hillary's non-concession speech was inspiring until she refused to conclude it with a congrats to Obama. Had she had the dignity to not be such a sore loser, I would have welcomed her to Obamas ticket. As it is, I think she deserves only a mediocre cabinet-level position.

21Mar08myChannel 3 years ago
Hireheels says: "Suck My Caucus"...a few thousand in caucuses VS. millions in primaries...caucuses not only DO NOT represent the WILL OF THE PEOPLE, but serve as a breeding ground for Obamabot intimidation & corruption....which is WHY there are numerous lawsuits being filed right now....disgusting tactics (more to come on this)
hireheelsdotcom 3 years ago
Hireheels: a few thousand is the maximum margin that Billary might claim her "adjusted net" of votes. Not to mention the fact that those thousands of Caucus-ers represent states of MILLIONS. More people in the US favor Obama. If your minds are as bad as Hillary's math, you should be denied the vote anyway. Obama's concession of delegates in FL and MI was more than fair, considering what a cheater Hillary is. Her camp, after all, was the camp that rejected a revote for full delegation.
21Mar08myChannel 3 years ago

The real question is why did Clinton keep her name ON the ballot. Do ya think it could be because her camp thought it might be useful down the road if they needed to challenge the legitimacy of the process, as they are doing now? Donna Brazile stated earlier that she would leave the DNC if the Supers, and not the people (translated # of real votes...not delegates) elected the candidate.

How do you count Michigan when Obama was not on the ballot?
The rules are changing on Obama, the bar is being raised. Everything to stop the Obama express

Further to my comment below. I voted for Obama in the Dems abroad primary and I wish I could have my vote back.
I am now getting hate mail calling me a racist.
How can someone who claims to be a uniter surround themself with so much hate?
I am not going to vote for him in November because he is black, but because he is GREEN
Got experience?

I voted for Obama in the US Citizens Abroad primary.
I wish my primary had been held later. I wish I knew then what I know now. Why are we fighting for democracy abroad when it does not exist at home?
I am so sorry my fellow Americans. I will right it in November.

the idiots will destroy the party -- FL & MI broke the rules --they should get half the delegates seated like the republicans as a punishment--even if all seated --clinton will still be behind --get over it folks --democrates majority selected obama --end of story

FABULOUS Video! Right to the Point!
50 States/ United States
We need to show the old boy network that
this is our country.

Reading these comments is crushing my heart.

JuliaB1955 3 years ago 2
What's at stake in this election? Healthcare, the war in Iraq, appointments to the court, the environment? Where do you stand on these? Are you willing to ignore these issues to protest the election? You want a market based health care system? A hundred year war in Iraq? Judges on the court that take away a women's right to choose? Soft environmental policies? Is that what Hillary would do?

I'll even volunteer for his campaign.
sandysarlo 3 years ago 4
what really pisses me off is if the situation were reversed and obama won florida and michigan and was trying to get their votes counted he would be portrayed by the media as the beacon of honesty and true democracy and hillary would be the deceitful shrew playing by the old rules of 'politics as usual.' but if it's hillary who wants their votes to count she is a "machiavellian" villian who "will do anything to win." axelrod has figured out how construct the narrative and the media eats it up.

WomenVote2008 3 years ago 8

65pimples 3 years ago 3

This is the United States of America. I don't give a damn how the idiots in the state legislature messed up and landed themselves in this mess, but every last person who voted should be counted. teh dnc rules did not require that he take his name off, nor did they request it. he took his name off, because polls indicated he was losing.
