@DrKush4ever Because "romance" back then, and even today in literature, did/does not mean love. A romance is a story of a quest with magical or spiritual elements. Lord of the Rings, for example, is actually a romance in terms of literature.

i think its interesting that alot of arthurian fiction has alot of friendlyness between men. men embrace, kiss, hold hands. and everyone is ok with it. they are not gay. just not hyper about it.

there is only one arthurian romace that is really antigay. sadly.

but for the most part the people in arthurian ficton are secure with their sexulality.
