  • I have a 90 Mustang 5.0 and wonderin how much horsepower it makes.

    Mods; 533 Crane Cam(hydraulic roller), Roller rockers, new lifters, all valvetrain to match cam, Lightly ported E7 heads, short custom CAI, no a/c, No egr, shorty headers, off road x-pipe, 40 series flowmasters that dump before rear axle, no cats, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, MSD 8.5mm wires, pro fabricated intake, and an electric fan on a switch. ANYONE HAVE AN ESTIMATION? IM NEW TO FORDS

    I don't know for sure. You can always set them at redline, but if your car is basically stock I doubt that's going to be the absolute quickest setting for you. You can joing a Mustang Forum and ask or do a search on google, as many others have also posted threads with the same question.

  • @sappc09 You should probably leave them alone, unless your car is has gears, or a more aggressive cam-etc

  • 4:10 is a high differential gear that has some power but shitty gas mileage

  • Yeah, gas mileage will take a hit on the freeway. It could vary in city speeds though.

  • btw does anybody know what mileage estimation is for havin 4:10 or 3.73? i might be buyin a mustang myself

  • It's not enough to not get those gears, unless you plan on doing a lot of highway driving. I would still get them again though.

  • IF U AVERAGE 50- 75 UR GAS MILEAGE INCREASES ANYTHING BELOW THAT it decreases slightly but not much maybe a gallon or 2

  • @slinarez the 2v 4.6 doesnt make any power past redline. hell this guy is right on with his shifts. power drops off right before redline.

  • It goes through the gears quicker than a stock GT because of the 4.10s. Look at other videos with 4.10s, 3.73s etc. and they all run through the gears quicker than your stock 3.27 GT.

  • well after looking for like half an hour (j/k) i realized that the timing is right... but it DOES look like the video is fast fowarded cause of the camera jerkin so FAST... BUT I ADMIT IT IS NOT FAST FOWARDED. sorry i guess, just wanted to know, nice btw

  • Another thing to consider, the camera looks like that because its hard to keep a still shot with all that torque. :)

    Plus, it was zoomed in.

    Id try and Go for 6Grand or Redline

    whatever. More Engine Turnin, More speed

  • a lot came with 2.73's as well. Going from 2.73's to 4.10's is a night and day difference.

  • gears a HP wins races why importds do well.. i had a old 5.0 gt 1986 with borla exhaust headers bac, B303 cams i might of had about 245-50 hp sounded good and was cool,. but broke dwon all the time :( i wont buy another ford :(

  • honestly you probably werent even putting that down, I had maaaaybe that at the wheels with a mild h/c/i + bolt ons and full catless dumped exhaust, 3.73's yada yada on my 89gt.. 302's need heads and better intake manifold to really see gains. Stroking it is where its at, got a 347 in the process...

  • car sounds good man..the check engine light also is on in my stang too, because i cut 4 of 6 cats out of the exhaust.nothin serious haha..sounds much better without them tho. and this sounds and works very similar to my car.

  • Yes.  That is due to an absence of cat's in the mid pipe, but I got it all dyno tuned now with more mods and there is no more CEL.

  • peak horsepower is roughly around 5200 rpm, so he is actually shifting just right.....
