Etta James has passed away today! They both are the best in I'D RATHER GO BLIND. I'm on my knees, I'm praying. Sweet Lord, wash their sins away. They shared their gift of singing so generously. They deserve it.
This is my first experience and introduction to Miss Koko. This white girl tips her hat! Etta has always been my favorite but there's always room for excellent talent!!!!
A white boy from Montreal who absolutely loves this Blues stuff!! and Koko you sure could sing them! You got a friend in Etta coming up to sing with you now and that makes me look forward to getting there some day as well !
KOKO was always able to sing what I was feeling. WOW I love this woman. My kids grew up on the blues. (That's why they are such good spouses now!) When I get in one of those moods even to this day(40 yrs later) it's ME, KOKO, and a glass of a little sompin' Sompin'
love KOKO so much, i got turned on to her in my twentys and it changed my whole concept of music! she is what i always wanted to hear. so happy and privileged a\that i was able to see her and meet her on many occasions here in cleveland!!! i always was the youngest whitest boy in the club but felt like i was in heaven hearing and experiencing her perform
@Msaem39 Me to girlie!!! I feel HER. She has it way deep down inside. Im also a lil white girl, but i got the blues and always have and I feel the SOUL DEEP DOWN!!
I used to think Etta James did a number on this song....not anymore! After hearing Koko Taylor, WOWWW! I must admit...IT IS THE BEST VERSION OF THIS SONG EVER MADE! PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The absolute best version of this song by the undeniable Queen of the Blues! She is my favorite and this song is my all time favorite. I will never forget when she dedicated this song to me when she was onstage once! An incredible moment from an incredible woman! Love you, Koko! Now, I will simply sit back, turn it up real loud and enjoy for about the millionth time!
No one should EVER be allowed to do this song again. And even LOOKING at the "dislike" button should result in horrible and instant death! We love ya and we need ya Koko! Rest in peace, mama.
I have waited 15 years to hear this song again ....TUGGS AT YOUR HEART STINGS! RIP KOKO TAYLOR! ..Saw your final tour at Chataqua Park Boulder Colorado under the Flatirions!
Thank You for this I had the opportunity to see Koko several times in small clubs in Chicago over the years. She put her heart and soul into every performance.I'm gettin goosebumps right now thinking about it.Peace from the south side of the blues capitol of earth Chicago,Illinois
Comes of the great album called Koko Taylor and her bjues Machine. And what better title than "An audience with the Queen. And she was the queen of the blues and will be sadly missed. God rest your saintly soul Koko. I was lucky enough to find the album on a stall and the rest as they say is history. And yes this without adoubt the best version ever made and will ever be made. Fabulous stuff just simply fabulous stuff.
This my friends is, MUSIC! Love it!

Totally love this! Was she actually the first one to sing this song? Do you know her song "Walk the backstreets?". Even more intense, if possible.
