Drug issues aside (since sprinters dope just as regularly now as they did back then) still don't detract from the fact that Koch is the greatest female sprinter of all time with a world class repertiore all the way from 100-400. There was no-one back in the day who had such a world class range, and there is no one who has ever had it since.

And as far as Koch and say all the East Germans, yes there is plenty of evidence of them taking drugs (in stasi files etc), she never tested positive or was caught.

What I'm not familiar with is is this proof that Lewis was a doper like Koch, Borzov, Gohr, Krabbe, etc. all part of state supported institutionalized doping. as much as i agree with you, the only problem is if you want to erase this record then you have to erase the other records that still stand from the 1980's and early 90's. the only good side of things now is that cheats are actually starting to get caught. most notably the girl that won bronze in the heptathlon. she never learned her lessons and it is the second time she has been caught now.
