  • @skating1611 they all complete each other ,all the departements of engineering.

  • thanx that's very good vedio

  • i'm going to take civil engineer,,, i love this course... i mean job... i want to be professional engineer and success full man...

  • engineering is such a fun and complex course...bravo!

  • people dream civil engineers turn their dreams into reality

  • wow.. those are amazing structure.,...

  • @charbelk606 the music is the arrival of the queen of sheba by Händel

  • Civil Engineering will never ceased to exist , because when the depression comes , government tend to spend more in civil works.

  • i love civil

  • nice...:) and nice music can i nw the name of the music in the video??

  • Civil engineering is a great career to chose for.

I am sure that in future the need for civil engineers will increase ,henceforth making a huge way to earn a lot of money in the future.

    Civil engineers simply ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • we will always need more civil engineers

  • @wazzmalo I TOTALLY AGREE!

  • not nessesary. i dont agree with you,as to the fact that in future there will be a huge increase in infrastructure leading to a great hunger of civil engineers i.e good job oppurtunities.

  • I'm a Land Surveyor and i'm pretty sure I have the oldest and most important jobs in the world. With out us the world would be one giant cluster @#$% So take that..lol

  • @javedkhan0258 with out civil u wont find a factory to put in ur machines

theu r all important but Civil is number 1

  • @TheTigerion true!!!! =D

  • @TheTigerion There is no number 1. Without machines, how would you build a factory?

  • Electronics and Electrical are better than civil. Everything in world is controlled by electronics chip

  • @javedkhan0258 not even.... =D

  • some of these arent even restricted to civils! more like in the domain of construction management! how ignorant and false

  • now i could start to appreicate what my civil eng. hallmates ramble about daily lol.

  • @craig89523 its not all civils, most are construction management and structural engineering. both are parallel to civil engineering

  • Nice into to civil engineering.

  • same here, i am also thinking about majoring in engineering..

civil engineering or instrumentation & control eng'g.. but i think i prefer civil.. :D

  • I'm a college student right now , and thinking about majoring in Engineering. I know its lots of hard work , but hard work comes in everything. Does anyone Know if Civil Engineering is fun?

  • civil engineering is my life.

  • i love being a civil engineer........

  • i love civil engineering.... the best one ever...=D

  • On the 1st day of Oceanography class after every class member expectedly stated there desired major is Marine Biology I proudly stated that I want to be a Civil engineer with an emphasis in Coastal and Ocean engineering!

  • @carey741 My impression of the difference is that architects are more art-oriented and do the aesthetic designing whereas civil engineers make the architect's plan practical. Then contractors/construction management implement the plan.

  • amazing video, iloved this type of video

  • I always loved building things but math and physics aren't my strong suit =(, could always give it a shot i suppose.

  • @Jthebig90 you will be provided with the tools you need in your first year. if youre willing to push yourself and practice maths and physics, reading from textbooks you can definitely do it! I got a B and CC for my intermediate Maths and science papers, and am in my final year of a masters civil engineering degree, so it can be done!

Maths is just about practice, practice, practice, and understanding where and why you do do certain things. You can do it, its an awesome career choice!

  • @castratedcat amen! Engineering rocks ! Reality proves it!!

  • amazing video

  • im intending to shift my major from IT to civil engineering which is my interest. but im still worried about its job market and job opportunities in the future. would some one plz help me with that?

  • @kohaniran The job opportunities for civil engineers strongly outweigh that of IT, and that's a fact.

  • Civil Engineers makes the world others just live in.......

  • @vijay0o7 and mech engineers make the machines civ engineers need to make the world tht others just live in :)

  • Im shifting my course from Bs computer science to Civil Engineering. And I think I would love it. But It's hard right?

  • can find new advances in civil engineering and specially in construction technology such as energy efficient construction, building insulation, green buildings etc.

  • i lovd my job :)

  • amazing

  • looking forward to study this field in university ;)

  • technology makes our lives easy........... science teaches us not to take our lives for granted...............engineering is applied to make our world systematized.............

  • what is the four Aspects?

  • i love my field civil engineering thats why i m working for it in terms of creating sap etabs, safe, autocad,ms project, revit etc tutorials and a website... i love it to deliver it to as much ppl as possible thats why i uploaded my some data in my youtube channel and the rest in my blog...its fantastic field in engineering i like it most and most..

  • Lol Civil Engineering is, contrary to popular believe, not an engineering discipline... It's more of a hobby for the weak among us, honestly taking up lap dancing would give a more promising career perspective.

  • im starting with this course this coming school year.. i hope i can do it :) wish me luck people.

  • @martymendoza same here :)

  • @itissobig

If you're not good at English and Math, don't think of taking up engineering again..

  • Go into Chemical Engineering if you really want a future.

  • So inspired ! I'm a civil engineer too (but young :D)

  • @itissobig i want to do somthn like this aswel i couldnt find the right name cuss i thought construction was road work only and driving road work car i dnt knw the names anyway u cud take aprepentip its like college thy teach u before u start to work is easy tht way anyway

  • yes. civil engineers aren't the math and science geeks. just need to know the basics, all though if you didn't have training prior to college, it will be tough.

    -Civil Engineer

  • @ArkayProductions do you make alot?

  • @GBallaJ civil engineers make some of the highest engineering salaries.

  • I'm in construction engineering management at CSULB and if you suck in math or physics don't go into that degree because you will fail, it takes a lot of studying, hope this helps

  • where does one draw the line between Civil Engineering and architecture?

  • becoming a construction manager or project engineer

  • search in google

    eng creator

  • search in google

    ENG CREATOR

  • do you need to be a math wiz to major in civil engineering?

  • Pretty much. It's all about calculation to be honest. There's a little theory here and there but there's mostly calculation to be done.

Topography is somewhat easier than general structures and soil mechanics.

  • MILLION THANKS FOR SHARING!!U R THE BEST!!GOD BLESS U!amen^OO^Pray hard ya.I APPRECIATED IT!!THANKS ALOT FOR THE UPLOAD!VERY NICE and AMAZING VIDEO,ever!

  • Damn your foreign.

  • this here is my major :D

  • you like it? :)

  • i lke it

  • @JonPiano same with me !!! :)

  • music over-used, 4 stars

  • no one cares about your opinion... go away...

  • you can download this video with the add-on DOWNHELPER in mozilla, i thing is the best way to do it.

  • structure is mine

  • there are only two courses in the world

    1. civil engineering

    2.others

  • nice 1 :D

  • @orvillemiran F*** yourself!

  • can someone explain to me what civil engeneering really is?

  • how to download this video?

  • BRAVO BRAVO, ENCORE ENCORE!!!

  • I think in 2020 look at autocad.

  • I think in 2050 they will use a lot of Tecnology that will help to improve civil engineering more than we can imagin.

  • Sheesh, look at these idiots.

  • Now,it's hard to work an engineer work.Sometime I think to looking for the new job but I love my job. Recently need to adjust something for future. I hope to see the way soon.

  • Do you mean hard as in challenging or hard as in draining?

  • Civil has been a v.impt role all the while. Esp due to the drop in construction materials etc, many industrial projects are coming up. Believed to have an increase in jobs soon, thou now still seen as a crisis period. N'way, u may consider parkin CVs in many job sites first, esp fresh grads, so that when economy picks, u'll be all rdy!

Here's an engineering job site that I found it not bad, focuses in Asia region

    ( w w w . e a s t s t o p. c o m )

    Cheers!

  • What's the difference between civil engineering, architectural engineering, and architecture?

  • Architecture is more based in the design and artistry of the project, and relates mostly to buildings and social structures. Though besides that, they are very similar.

  • This is a really loaded question: Civil Eng. deals with ALL infrastructure and how it effects man and nature. Disciplines in CE include water/hydraulics, soils/geotech, transportation, environmental, construction management, and structures (structural engineering). CM and structures is where CE overlaps with Arch. Engineering, except Arch. Eng. is less concerned with building structure, and focuses more on building sub system design. Architecture is more about making things look pretty. ;)

  • its not engineering. its called electronics 'technician'

  • Which field of engineering has the best prospects?

How hard will the recession hit Civil Engineering firms in the UK?

  • civil is the shizzle

  • That was great... Thank you

  • Hey everyone im going to school to be for engineering. I want to do repairs and Hands on work with electronics. should I go in Electronical/tronic engineering or technology? I dont want to do ANY appreticships. PLS Help start school in 3 weeks.

  • I realy wish I could finish my Civil Engineering course... and I can say that it is quite hard... but im proud that I'm in 4th year next semester... God Bless us all whos studying the course of CIVIL ENGINEERING...

  • damn good., we civil engrs are very nasty good in design..... lol

  • yay 2 civil engineers in uws =]

  • good vid helped me do my project thanks

  • yay to civil engineers- 1st yr undergrad in Newcastle univ- UK :D

  • OMG is this quite hard? i hope not. this is my future course lol

  • i'm studying civil engineering and all i can say is that you're doomed.

    god be with you

  • great

  • I love this! It looks so amazing sped up like that. A really nice video!

  • thats also water depuration.. that was cool

  • Nice video, good music selection.

  • I hate how people make these dumbass videos, pictures, and music, how is this teaching me about civil engineering? narrate the shit

  • This video contains a lot of things related with civil engineering. What else do you want to know? you can search in wikipedia and google or even choose civil engineering as your major in college if you want to know more. But for people who are totally blank about civil engineering, i think this video is quite a good introduction. The music is totally unrelated, but what kind of music do u expect them to use? concrete casting or aggregate crushing sound? come on, that's ridiculous..

  • If you want narrative check out our channel! We have some great introduction to civil engineering type videos with actual words! :)

  • 5. One final point. Steel also expands when heated. The effect of beams and columns all interlocked, expanding simultaneuosly, can and would cause a tremendous amount of stress in the connections. Imagine a jigsaw puzzle. How hard would it be to keep together if all the pieces suddenly increased in size by 2 percent?

  • a few more points:

    4. the tonnage of steel on the floor of impact is COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT. Rather you should be asking what the service stress was in the supporting steel columns. As steel heats up its yield stress limit is lowered, melting is not required. If the allowable stress of the steel drops below the service stress of the steel columns, they'll buckle.

  • A few of points:

    1. It is EXTREMELY difficult for a structural engineer to dumb things down so that complete idiots can comprehend what goes into the design of an 81? storey skyscraper.

    2. Fuel does need oxygen. If you have ever stood on top of a 50 storey building near the cost you would realise that it is FUCKING WINDY UP THERE!

    3. Engineers have now published a book called something along the lines of "The structural failure of the WTC" but you probably wouldn't understand it.

  • LOLL AHAHA acs1978au and psikeyhackr. Farrr man so smart talking rofll air volume, percentage talk, and fraction value talk. HAHAHAH so cool like really smart talk really cool =D

  • Shouldn't civil engineers want to know and be able to tell us how many tons of steel were on the impact floors of the World Trade Center?

The 81st floor of the south tower had to hold another 29 stories. How could that much steel weaken from fire in 56 MINUTES? Why don't we have a table specifying the tons of steel and concrete on EVERY LEVEL of the buildings by now?

Are all of the engineering schools in the US accomplices after the fact with WTC 9/11?

    watch?v=z0kUICwO93Q

  • well psikeyhackr...my thoughts, the engineers back then never thought that such worst case could happen. What's worst..burning the steels were jet fuel..not ordinary fuel. therefore higher temperature is rapidly achieved..weakening the steels faster..

  • Jet Fuel is nothing but KEROSENE!

Fuel needs OXYGEN to burn. It would be impossible to get enough oxygen to the fire fast enough to heat that much steel enough to weaken in 56 MINUTES.

But we are not told how many tons of steel were on the impact floors. Shouldn't CIVIL ENGINEERS understand the importance of that data?

  • the building regulations do not allow for the conventional steelwork temperatures to exceed 350°C because the conventional carbon steel reduces its 0.2% proof stress at 350°C to 2/3 of its specified values at ambient temperature. This requirement generally leads to massive amounts of fire protection which is very COSTLY...the type of steel used is another question

  • So what does that have to do with the QUANTITY of steel that had to be heated enough to weaken in 56 MINUTES in the south tower?

And you didn't provide a verifying link.

  • Building design code (which differ in every country) is used to design a structure. In the design code doesn't emphasize on the weight of the structural steels used but instead the strength of it what matters most, the ability of it to support the loading. So about your quantity question , i don't have any answer for it..and since the dimension of every building is not the same , it is difficult to know the exact quantity of steels used.

  • Using the same type of steel, of what was available in the late 60's, to get more strength required more steel. I have seen figures of 4 and 5 inch thickness at the base vs 1/4 inch at the top.

Since we are told fire weakened the steel at the impact point, shouldn't it be obvious that they should tell us how much steel was there?

I haven't seen it in SIX YEARS! Why NOT?

  • to make your search for how much steel used , it is better for you to contact the steel company which provides the steels for the structure. And of course..question their experts which involves in manufacturing process & quality control of it. i am very sure you'll get your answer.

  • the penny has finally dropped regarding conspiracy theorists. many of them are of course idiots, but there are a lot of idiots around, and they are not neccessarily conspiracy theorists. i've worked it out. they've failed in the real world, and somehow have to invent their own distorted view of the world, to reassure themselves that it is they are the ones who are ok, and the rest of the world is fuked up.

  • Geniuses need to resort to psychoanalysis to explain why we aren't told the TONS of STEEL & TONS of CONCRETE on each level of a skyscraper designed in the 1960s.

Curiously the NIST can't even tell us the total quantity of concrete with 3 years and $20,000,000 of research. Dr. Sunder Dunderhead of the NIST says the WTC was 70% air by volume. Of course that explains everything. LOL

  • I've two question?! 1/is irrigation engineering a brunch of civil engineering?

2/is architecture engineer or artist? thank you

  • 1- Irrigation and water systems are civil engineering.

2- Architecture is an art but architectural engineering is, obviously, engineering.

The architect is the person who invisions a house in the shape of a spoon. The architectural engineer is the person who builds that house and makes sure it functions safely and effectively.

  • thank you for ans. they're more acceptable

  • la iy yaw işinizmiz yok he.. hayatnız boş iş asn kendinizi :))))))))))))

    hıaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • nice video, i didn't like the music

  • what are the four aspect?

  • All aspects of civil engineering are interesting except for site/civil land development. Designing Walmart parking lots just plain blows..

  • That's why I LOVE CIVIL ENGINEERING!!!!!
