Wow. That actually looks pretty good. And I don't think the movie is as bad as everyone says. It wasn't as gritty and violent as the comic, but I felt they still got the characters right, especially Simmons and Clown. Still, I really hope Todd McFarlane can get another one made.

I'll make a tutorial of it when I'm done..right now , taking pics and all..I have most of the material except the mask part..got my plastic chains from candain tire, spray painted silver..I got to barin storm in how and what to use for the capre part..I got a hge peice of rad material for the cloak/cape...mostly evevrything except the mask..which I am still looking around for...by the way I'm also a Spawn fan...since 93
that's exactly what I used for the chains, mask can get a little tricky, but it you know some one who's a really good friend you could get a black spandex hood and airbrush it, that would look really good.
hello, I'm in the process of making my own Span costume for this comming Halloween..I already made the gauntlets ,,and leg parts using foam..galavizing it in the oven,,so i9t will bend ,,..spray painted fire red....I used foam noodles (floating ones)..for the spikes..latex painted...and sprayed white..I used ya technique of using drilling a hole thru pads into spikes...
the materials alone cost over $300 for this costume, look up the price of lycra, leather, foam, paint etc. When I do another spawn costume all gauntlets, mask etc will be taken from clay sculpts. No one can Make you a spawn costume that looks like the one I built for $70, the leather alone is $80 for the hide. Don't critic on what you know nothing about.

to be honest i cant really remember. i was looking up a bunch of spawn stuff by searching yahoo and i came to one that said that todd mcfarlane didnt like the rubber suit from the original and that he was either going to go low end and direct it himself and do everything he wants, or he was going to go high end and get a big time director and shoot him some ideas and have him make it. i'll search for it and if i find it i'll comment back

Too bulky and the top part above your head is very crooked. The forearm part of it is way too bulky. Great effort and it does look good but I would thin it out a lot more.

Todd's finally been saying a little bit more about the sequel. Not sure if you've heard about that, but he's basically been confirming the internet rumors. The story's that way because it'd be cheaper. He wants to write, produce, AND direct.
Anyway, I'm considering doing one of these myself. I think I'll make it after the Spawn: Armageddon model. (Don't wanna mess with the cape or that big-ass boot thing that touches the ground.) I was just wondering what you carved the spikes out of?
polystyrene, go to a craft store and buy the foam ring that are about 2" in dia and then section them off in 2 and 3 inch sections and start carving, takes a while but it looks great!
Your information isn't somewhat 100% accurate. In all actual fact he isn't exacly going to, write, produce & direct. He stated, he wants the movie to go ahead even "IF" he has to write, produce and direct it & even finance it himself.
Btw not a bad costume considering you made it yourself, but its not something i would pay money for.

this costume is the tip of the iceberg, I have plans for several others over the next couple years. ie Karas, Briareos (appleseed), predator (my own design), Guyver 3, Master chief from halo, and a really frightening spawn (if you read the comic currently you've got an idea of what I'm up to.

wow at first the huge collar thing above your head looked weird but the second you put on the mask it all came together. Its obvious you put a lot of work into the whole costume nice job.
ths video really helped im making mine out of spandex 2 but its going 2 cost alot kuz im buying those athletice tight ass shirts but i unno how im unna make the right leg ... mabey cardboard
he's a tip, if you're gonna spend money on those tight shirts why not approach a dance school supplier and find out how much a full body black leotard is!
my first costume was made from the most economical fabric I could find and I hard cardboard underneath for additional shape,if you're going that route I suggest you find some way to keep the boots from wiggling aroun your leg 'cause it's really annoying and somehow keep it off the ground a bit since asphalt and such will rub the fabric soen to bare cardboard really quick, my suggestion is get the boot to lift as high as your shoe's sole, you're probably gonna have to pack the boot with foam.
Spawn the movie had two ratings. There was an R rating and a PG-13 version. He goes over the reason why it had two ratings. VERY NICE costume. Couldn't find anything like this on the net, so very original. One small thing though.. moooore chains! You can never have to many chains! Put some on the upper thigh coming down from the belt buckle around to the back.

as far as I know it's not in production yet, the basis is supposed to be around sam and twitch with spawn being a secondary character but even that's more of a net rumour than anything else, Mcfarlane hasn't disclosed anything about it of any real importance. I've been wearing this to bars for the last 3years, funny thing is some gurls won't even come close to me due to the sheer presence this outfit has, it's great, I love that some people are totally freaked out by it.

I hope to Malebolgia that Todd McFarlane keeps more true to the Spawn story and feel and goes for an adult-targeted, "R" rated movie, with an unrated DVD release.

Todd's finally been saying a little bit more about the sequel. Not sure if you've heard about that, but he's basically been confirming the internet rumors. The story's that way because it'd be cheaper. He wants to write, produce, AND direct.
Anyway, I'm considering doing one of these myself. I think I'll make it after the Spawn: Armageddon model. (Don't wanna mess with the cape or that big-ass boot thing that touches the ground.) I was just wondering what you carved the spikes out of?

polystyrene, go to a craft store and buy the foam ring that are about 2" in dia and then section them off in 2 and 3 inch sections and start carving, takes a while but it looks great!

Your information isn't somewhat 100% accurate. In all actual fact he isn't exacly going to, write, produce & direct. He stated, he wants the movie to go ahead even "IF" he has to write, produce and direct it & even finance it himself.
Btw not a bad costume considering you made it yourself, but its not something i would pay money for.

this costume is the tip of the iceberg, I have plans for several others over the next couple years. ie Karas, Briareos (appleseed), predator (my own design), Guyver 3, Master chief from halo, and a really frightening spawn (if you read the comic currently you've got an idea of what I'm up to.

awesome!! great job. there is a lot of dedication and detail on the costume.
maybe the cape could have been shredded a bit on the bottom part, so that it was even more similar to the comic. but anyway, that's a subjective comment i'm doing.

wow at first the huge collar thing above your head looked weird but the second you put on the mask it all came together. Its obvious you put a lot of work into the whole costume nice job.

my first costume was made from the most economical fabric I could find and I hard cardboard underneath for additional shape,if you're going that route I suggest you find some way to keep the boots from wiggling aroun your leg 'cause it's really annoying and somehow keep it off the ground a bit since asphalt and such will rub the fabric soen to bare cardboard really quick, my suggestion is get the boot to lift as high as your shoe's sole, you're probably gonna have to pack the boot with foam.

Spawn the movie had two ratings. There was an R rating and a PG-13 version. He goes over the reason why it had two ratings. VERY NICE costume. Couldn't find anything like this on the net, so very original. One small thing though.. moooore chains! You can never have to many chains! Put some on the upper thigh coming down from the belt buckle around to the back.

Amazing costume dude!
One suggestion, just for the hell of it, maybe you should do the same for the back of the cape as you did for the collar, and make it a bit longer. Obviously not for walking around in, but at least it would look scarier, and more wild like Spawn's.
Again though, AWESOME!

as far as I know it's not in production yet, the basis is supposed to be around sam and twitch with spawn being a secondary character but even that's more of a net rumour than anything else, Mcfarlane hasn't disclosed anything about it of any real importance.
