esta interesante la idea de este clasico en tercara dimencion, pero deja mucho qe desear, los colores no estan en los tonos adecuados, sin mencionar qe los labios de la rana no concuerdan con las palabras....
That's only because Pixar is a company dedicated to doing this i think he was talking about a home based project, well he must have because if he wasn't he's an idiot
the 3d version is very well made, but still, old cartoons have a special charm of their own, 3ds are so cold compared to the warmth of the old ones. I wish I could see more of them on tv
It looks just like the original! The characters movements is precise and it the audio is directly from the the original. I would bet this IS the original but simply enhanced with 3D effects and little minor details here and there. Not saying it's a good job. I'm sure it was hard and it was excellent but it's TOO much like the original. I did enjoy it.
However it didn't have effective timing, the fall of the lid didn't show the right weight, Michigan's lips didn't move to the beats of the audio, and squash and stretch wasn't fully utilized. Then again this is computer animation and they haven't yet mastered all feats of traditional animation.
You're a complete idiot if you blame the faults in this video on computer animation. The computer doesn't do timing, weight OR squash and stretch at all... the ARTIST does.
It's people like you who piss me off all the time. Don't criticize computer animation unless you know a thing about it.
Though dude they do make programming that can do some things that regular animation can do. Like what they did in Chicken Little, that demonstrated some basics in hand drawn animation. I didn't blame it on the animation fully, all I was saying that there are SOME limitations in computer vs. traditional. The masters are trying to emulate the complexity within hand-drawn all the time. It would be a DREAM to completely replicate a classic cartoon down to the detail in a computer.
My point is, the reason why this short isn't as well animated, modeled or lit as the original is because the animator(s) who worked on it were not skilled enough. I've seen much better and more polished efforts by other computer animators. Get some Pixar veterans to try and replicate this and you would be very surprised.
Not to insult those who worked on it for practice. It's not the best effort, but it is a great effort. A LOT better than I expected, really.
Although I think nothing can hold up to the original, this was a very good take. The characters actually had weight and it was well animated. Great work.
Hi, chuckwheel. The idea was not to add anything to the masterpiece, nor even to stand side by side with it. We made it for learning purposes, in order to try to understand the animation principles by closely following the steps of the master Chuck Jones and his crew. :)
As you and everyone can read on the "About This Video" area located in this page, this is a student project. The intention of it was to study a classic from Chuck Jones frame-by-frame and try to re-create the first scene with the knowledge acquired by the previous study and open-source tools, like Blender.
Unfortunately we didn't mean to make the whole cartoon. The project was only to make the first scene, applying what we learned after studying the original frame-by-frame. =)
Thanks a lot for this, it is an special compliment considering that it is coming from somebody who works on the same company as the master Chuck Jones did! =)
I am certainly going to give you words of encouragement. You're at least taking a step in the right direction. Your work above shows skill, dedication, and craftsmanship.
However, I would like to advocate originality and creativity. In the beginning, there's no better than emulating the classics but the next project should definitely be an idea of your own. ;-)
Best of luck in your future animation plans! I hope for the best in the business and wish you great fortune.
About making something original, this project was made about one year ago and, after that, we did make some original ones.
I invite you to watch some other videos on my profile. I would recommend you 5 shorts we did some months ago which are about old brazilian indian legends: O Boto, Nhapope, Cobra Grande, Matinta Perera and Uirapuru.
