  • wow good job really following the original.

    it's hardwork :)

    goodluck

  • Chuck Jones would be proud of you.

  • Maravilhoso!

  • Amazing!!!! Love it!!!! Fantastic job!!! Adding it to my favorites now <3

  • mmmmm is not the same

  • WOOOWW What an amazing job guys.

  • Nicely done. I admire that you kept it true to the 1955 feel. I like it, but sorry, I'll always prefer the 2D version. You did an excellent job btw.

  • Love it.

  • Parabéns pela iniciativa e por divulgar aqui.

  • otimo mas cade o resto???

  • A masterpiece that is based on a masterpiece is a masterpiece. I love it.

  • First-class piece of work! great that you stick to the idea, keep up the good work.

  • This really captures the feel of the old Chuck Jones cartoons. Excellent work.

  • This is amazing -- well done!!!!

  • very good but i still prefer michigan j. frog in 2D

  • Impressive!

  • AWESOME!!!

  • That's only because Pixar is a company dedicated to doing this i think he was talking about a home based project, well he must have because if he wasn't he's an idiot

  • Excellent work -- done with Blender by any chance?

  • very very good animation, but I'll always like the origional better, just a 2D kind of person

  • Awesome.

  • Pretty darn cool. Great job. You've done a nice tribute to the original.

  • so amazing is that from the ps2 game?

  • Its a college work experiment made by some visual art students

  • the 3d version is very well made, but still, old cartoons have a special charm of their own, 3ds are so cold compared to the warmth of the old ones. I wish I could see more of them on tv

  • Excellent, and this is from one of my favorite cartoons, and the singing frog "hello my baby, hello my honey..."

    Great Job

  • you have got to be the coolest person on earth

  • excelent

  • It looks just like the original! The characters movements is precise and it the audio is directly from the the original. I would bet this IS the original but simply enhanced with 3D effects and little minor details here and there. Not saying it's a good job. I'm sure it was hard and it was excellent but it's TOO much like the original. I did enjoy it.

  • However it didn't have effective timing, the fall of the lid didn't show the right weight, Michigan's lips didn't move to the beats of the audio, and squash and stretch wasn't fully utilized. Then again this is computer animation and they haven't yet mastered all feats of traditional animation.

  • You're a complete idiot if you blame the faults in this video on computer animation. The computer doesn't do timing, weight OR squash and stretch at all... the ARTIST does.

It's people like you who piss me off all the time. Don't criticize computer animation unless you know a thing about it.

  • Though dude they do make programming that can do some things that regular animation can do. Like what they did in Chicken Little, that demonstrated some basics in hand drawn animation. I didn't blame it on the animation fully, all I was saying that there are SOME limitations in computer vs. traditional. The masters are trying to emulate the complexity within hand-drawn all the time. It would be a DREAM to completely replicate a classic cartoon down to the detail in a computer.

  • That doesn't even make sense.

My point is, the reason why this short isn't as well animated, modeled or lit as the original is because the animator(s) who worked on it were not skilled enough. I've seen much better and more polished efforts by other computer animators. Get some Pixar veterans to try and replicate this and you would be very surprised.

Not to insult those who worked on it for practice. It's not the best effort, but it is a great effort. A LOT better than I expected, really.

  • Fair enough.

  • oooo it is 3d!

  • nice

  • Although I think nothing can hold up to the original, this was a very good take. The characters actually had weight and it was well animated. Great work.

  • Eu sou luxuoso .... lo maximo !!!!!

    excelente trabalho ....!!!

    5 Estrelas

  • paul potts

  • ôtimo... muito bom (:D)

  • Quedo de lujo!!!!

    Felicitaciones

  • wow good job, not perfect but it's good =]

if only u made the sneaky run the same as the original, it would be funnier

  • Hi, chuckwheel. The idea was not to add anything to the masterpiece, nor even to stand side by side with it. We made it for learning purposes, in order to try to understand the animation principles by closely following the steps of the master Chuck Jones and his crew. :)

  • grEAT JOB MAN!! Felicitaciones... Congrat!... its beautiful!

  • Hello My Baby,Hello My Darling! You Did An Awsome Job!!!

    Great Job Guys!!!! well done!!!

  • Me encanta!

  • i really love thissss.

    amazing job.

    [=

  • why would you do this to a classic?

  • Do what? Hater!

  • ruin it with horrible unnatural cgi.

  • have to agree with bluemonkey, the frog is the absolute best part of this remake, job well done guys

  • Wonderfully done. I think you did that cartoon absolute justice, especially the frog. I wish I could do something as awesome that. =D

  • Nice work!

  • Very well made.

  • This is awesome!!

  • Very nicely done!

  • i hope u all know this(or u r all retards)THIS SHOW IS BUGS BUNNY AND TWEETY SHOW.its an episode on it

  • hi, stefano18801.

As you and everyone can read on the "About This Video" area located in this page, this is a student project. The intention of it was to study a classic from Chuck Jones frame-by-frame and try to re-create the first scene with the knowledge acquired by the previous study and open-source tools, like Blender.

  • This 3-D version is awesome! Do you have the rest of it or is that all?

  • hi, legendofsleepyhollow

Unfortunately we didn't mean to make the whole cartoon. The project was only to make the first scene, applying what we learned after studying the original frame-by-frame. =)

  • That was a 3D version of the cartoon...excellent!!!

  • really :S

  • You have to hear what I said spoken to understand exactly how I meant it.

  • hello my baby!!

  • Really well done (I work at WB in Burbank!!)This is my fav cartoon and you did it justice.

  • Hi, deedeebree =)

Thanks a lot for this, it is an special compliment considering that it is coming from somebody who works on the same company as the master Chuck Jones did! =)

    Cheers

  • Amazing work!! Some of the models were a little blocky, particularly the frog, but overall I'm very impressed. =)

  • Well done man. You should make the whole cartoon!!!

  • Nice. Won't WB be mad for copyright infringment?

  • Hi!

    Well... I hope they don't. =)

This is one of the reasons we didn't make the whole cartoon.

And, after all, the only intention of this project is learning. We didn't profit from it at all.

    Cheers

  • Aww, so you won't make the whole cartoon then. :(

  • More more! ;)

  • I am certainly going to give you words of encouragement. You're at least taking a step in the right direction. Your work above shows skill, dedication, and craftsmanship.

However, I would like to advocate originality and creativity. In the beginning, there's no better than emulating the classics but the next project should definitely be an idea of your own. ;-)

Best of luck in your future animation plans! I hope for the best in the business and wish you great fortune.

  • Hello, Mattew. =)

Thank you very much for your very kind words.

About making something original, this project was made about one year ago and, after that, we did make some original ones.

I invite you to watch some other videos on my profile. I would recommend you 5 shorts we did some months ago which are about old brazilian indian legends: O Boto, Nhapope, Cobra Grande, Matinta Perera and Uirapuru.

    All the best,

    Virgilio

  • are you trying to learn character animation or learning design with 3d program? If you're design school, are there really animation classes there?

  • Hello.

We're trying to learn character animation. We were at a Graphic Design school, which does not offer animation classes at all.

In the region where we live there are no animation school. People like us, who loves animation, have to figure things out by themselves because of the lack of resources.

This was one of our attempts on learning that magnificent craft. =)

    Thanks

  • Bom trabalho!

  • Excellent work, but I don't like it.

Needs to look more cartoony, at the moment it looks too computerish and unnatural.

  • Marvellous and Wonderful 3D graphics job... Excellent Keep fighting for the best

  • omg please do the whole episode

Are you going to do anymore work like this?

    Please let's have some more.

  • I know that probably took forever to make.

I hope it makes a few gears grind at warner brothers.

It was simply amazing. I wish it was the whole cartoon but I have some inkling of how much work that would be. Great job sir.

  • Do you know any good 3D animation software out there. Trying to get to the cartoon maker now. Thanks.

  • You're great ARTist. Usually I prefer 2D instead of 3D, but that one was simply amazing! :)

  • Hey that's pretty good

  • Well at least we all know how it ends, since they didn't remake the whole cartoon.

  • Wow! Nice work! Great animation! There are some lipsinc and timing problems but those don't really matter at all. Overall it's a really good piece of work!
