25:24- "Next week, be sure to see Ann Sothern as 'PRIVATE SECRETARY'. Jack Benny's next television show will be seen two weeks from tonight. 'THE JACK BENNY PROGRAM' was brought to you by Lucky Strike- product of The American Tobacco Company, America's leading maufacturer of cigarettes. This is Don Wilson, reminding you to 'Be Happy- Go Lucky'! Good night..."
By the 1954-'55 season, though, she decided she's be a part of the radio show "by transcription"- that is, she pre-recorded her dialogue on a tape recorder in her bedroom, which was inserted into a "live" recording of each week's program. Usually, someone like Jack's script secretary, Jeanette Eyman, or Jack's daughter Joan, would read Mary's lines during the performance, and Mary would be "mixed in" for the final recorded version that was broadcast.
Originally, there was a different insert at 24:08, where Jack originally said, "Oh, I forgot- next week, be sure to see Ann Sothern in 'PRIVATE SECRETARY', and I'll be seeing you again, two weeks from tonight. Good night, folks!".
Originally telecast on December 4, 1955, featuring several of his regular "supporting players" [Frank Nelson, Mel Blanc, Herb Vigran], and one of the few Mary Livingstone appeared in (she preferred filmed episodes, instead of "live" ones staged before a studio audience),
