I think Obi-Wan came out of the prequals pretty strong still. Maybe the point of those movies wasn't to make the dark side cooler but was to help out the Jedi. I think Yoda, Obi-Wan and even Qui-Gon made the light side seem a little cooler.

Have you ever stopped to think about the fact that in Revenge of the Sith, there is no character that does not come out of the film with their dignity intact? EVERYONE got raped. Even the two so-called "winners" Vader & Palpatine end up respectively mutilated and mutated in it. And not respectably, either. They were total babies about it.

@samuel06batman Vader was dying too quickly, they wouldn't have been able to clone replacement body parts fast enough to save him. Once they put Vader in the suit, he was stuck there for life because in order to attach the cloned lungs they would have to have removed most of his upper body life support which would kill him too quickly. Once in the suit, Vader was too weak to overthrow Sidious without dying. Sidious realized this, and thus, slaved Vader to him forever by trapping him in the suit.

@repulic5 What else would their have been to say? Anakin thought Obi-Wan had turned Padme, the love of his life, against him, and he also thought the Jedi had been lying to him for years. That line, cheap though it was, pretty much summed up what Anakin must have felt about Obi-Wan at that point. Would you have preffered a speech?
@the9bishop I don't think little Annie had to say anything in this scene. When Leia says "I love you" to Han Solo, Han's original line in the script was "I love you too." Harrison Ford thought it was lame and changed it to "I know." The words mean something different, but the way he performed it made the audience understand Han loves Leia, and it fit with the character. A good actor would have found a way to convey love or hate without verbally stating the obvious.
@Clasico2350 Episode III was propably the best of the new trilogy, because it was so dark.... but Episodes I and especially II were much weaker than the movies in original trilogy imo (even though many people disslike Episode VI because of the Ewoks...)
But anyways the old and new trilogy are just so different from eachother, and not just because of the technology, but the atmosphere between them is so very different...and I prefer the old, original trilogy.

Hayden did a great job as Anakin / Vader, he definitely has that dark presence.
Sequels / Prequels I love them both.
