If green energy made sense economically, then the free market would have gone that way. The research that I have done shows that it would cost me, with my tiny little 1000 sq ft home, $27000 to switch it to solar. It would take 13 years for this system to pay for itself.
2 ways to make solar the best choice,
(1.) make it affordable and efficient, or
(2.) Artificially make the other forms of energy even more expensive.

@daderone Companies want to do 1 thing, make money. If solar energy was efficient and profitable then new companies would spring up to manufacture them. I wouldn't expect an oil company to lead the way. But if Solar made sense, then new companies would be getting rich selling people like me a cost effective alternative to the electric companys power.

@skyvilla like half of the sub fleet is nuclear i would assume. i bet you're one of those guys who thinks clean coal and carbon capture is real. 50% of the energy used in the usa never gets put to use because of power grid is so inefficient. we can literally produce 100% of our energy cleanly. Photovoltaic panels..the next evolution in solar is 300% more efficient than older panels. Dozens of people have built generators that run on magnets. We should base future research on that not nuclear.
@SearchAndBuild Right now we get more than half of our energy from fossil fuels so naturally the initial bursts of new energy source production wont be done cleanly but as we evolve to a clean/wasteless model fossil fuels will become less and less irrelevant. Heres my opinion on green energy.
