Shade of Aran before epics were buffed was HELL.

Kara may not be "hardcore", which is a joke in itself when assigned to a game, but Kara is definately one of the best of the Raids released. It's interesting and has such a unique atmosphere, and that will always beat any so called hardcore raid.

The worst thing is you can't just solo into kara without a friend to make it into a raid. I really want to have a wonder through kara with my feral druid, stealthing past all the mobs just to see how far I get.

No , kara aint dead ! i still do it with my guildies it's far the best in the game still , the song is best in game ! the design and thought put into kara was great work by the bliz dev team !
