i use Ubuntu , and i have a Athlon x2 435. with a 5770, and a 500GB drive. good luck with your fusion build, but i would wait for bulldozer because you have a good gpu.
Oooo look forward to a video on your future Fusion box. Make sure you get 1866MHz DDR3 or higher, the GPU on Fusion benefits a lot from faster memory, anything lower than 1600MHz should be avoided IMO :)
AMD confirmed that a Black Edition Fusion chip is in the works at Gamescom, might be worth waiting for that since it's sure to overclock like crazy being 32nm :D
Glad to see you back. Did you find a new place? I am using a dinosaur of a PC. It has a Pentium 4 processor in it running at 2.62 GHZ, but still good graphics card.
4gb of DDR3 1600mhz ram is £30 in the UK, i got my 8gb of G.Skill for £60.
lol i was half expect you to be rocking a floppy drive there.
What graphics cards are you running on Vipor?
I might go Bulldozer but idk this phenom II is still okay but the new intel 2500k smashes it in performance. I also want a new case but i cant justify buying a new one.
Awesome i actually have a couple things in my shitty pc that is better then what you have. Lol. Of course i don't have a quad core or well anything. The only thing i've upgraded is the stupid video card. Nice pc! I remember your last vid about this. Wasn't it titled exactly the same to?
@ps3moonlight No they sure aren't for most people who don't do video editing or need mass storage or a media server. Anyone who does hardcore PC gaming is also going to want a desktop as the performance is much higher than a notebook too. But once again PC gamers are a niche in their own. Professional video editing you want a desktop. Even pro Mac users using Final Cut would use a Mac pro if they are doing video editing professionally. The performance blows any imac or macbook pro.
It's about time! Hahaha just kidding. But you didn't actually show in your PC. Too much of a PITA? Awwwww come on Viporman! Ohhh fine. It's better than nothing! You're right though for games in XP or Linux 3GB is probably plenty fine. I'm just running 4GB on Windows 7 64-bit and it's fine.
@ps3moonlight Do you have over 4TB of redundant storage in your laptop or tablet? No I didn't think so. I use my PC as a media server too. Do you have dual monitors with HDMI and 1080p resolution on your tablet? Nope. Surfing big websites still sucks on a small screen. Not to mention you can't REALLY do video editing on a tablet and you shouldn't even bother doing it on a notebook either. I don't know about you but it depends what you want to do and I'm not getting rid of my desktop.
Nice man i got 8gb of ram, quad core phenom at 2.8ghz 1gb vid card and 1 tb of hd and i got win 7 ultimits x64

LIke ps3moonlight I think my last desktop I put together will be it for me.
Laptops even in the $350 dollar range run circles around my desktop which was top of the line a few years back.
What are you using in Linux for video editing now?
