It is really hard to tell what is going on here without the original presumably German fimmaker's commentary--which in itself may have been erroneous. Nazi German occupation forces were not really culturally competent regarding the peoples they intended to colonize and later exterminate. Those collaborating with Russia's Bolsheviks during their reign of terror in Lviv (Lwow) were targeted for reprisals once the Germans entered. The Bolshevik mass murderers also left many victims in Lviv.

Not one clip shows Ukrainian Nationalist victims of retreating NKVD. All the victims appear to be Jewish. You see the piles of dead jewish bodies including children and jews being attacked as prellude to murder. Possibly the man who is being beaten with stick may be a non -jewish objector or possibly a non -jewish partner to a jewish spouse.

I guess it is unlikely that we would have film of the dead Ukrainians, shot by the NKVD near the castle in Zlocow. There was a confrontation with Wermacht officers and SS Division Das Wiking who were taking part in shootings of Jews at the Castle, whilst Ukranian Nationalists undertook mass murder in reprisal, assisted by Einsatzgruppe C units.
