  • Nice visual... but misses a significant details... death to self before service is one. One must fall to the ground like a seed and be willing to be nothing to be used for anything. The video instead promotes at 1:37, love, liberate, lead, launch... all dynamics of the Purpose Driven mandate. It misses the intrinsic nature of commission. Holiness, refinement, santification, fasting, prayer, bearing the yoke... but these oversights are typical of the modern church.

  • I don't know if it is the city I live in or if this is going on all over the world. We can't feed the homeless unless we obtain a permit, feed the exact same homeless people each time and food must be prepared in a "certified" kitchen and inspected. When in a public park, giving free hugs, we were ran off for disturbing the peace and threatened with jail and fines. One can't visit inmates in jail, as Jesus instructs us to do, without having a body cavity search. The list goes on and on. :(

  • what is the name of the song?

  • Exactly! Pray for us as pastors that we spare nothing to fulfill the commission Jesus gave and reach the world he died for!

  • you had crying at hello

  • There is power in the simplicity of the message and in this video! I have never been so inspired by a cartoon before!!

  • Thankyou it was uplifting made me think

  • Yes! AMEN!

  • A RESOUNDING AMEN

  • weapons of mass deception, once again

  • This is an excellent video!

  • lol funny america attacking everyone else now???

  • @490er - yes, it could easily be misinterpreted that only America was sending out people. The intended meaning could have been that America needs to send people out. The problem today with sending anyone out is that the rest of the world doesn't speak "American." How many days I have had to hang my head in shame at the ignorance of our nation. A nation that was blessed by God and then turned their backs on him. God forgive them fore they know not what they do.

  • Most .Church is all about intertainment....what can we do for u.....instead of what can u do for the church ....and many is as a country club.....and many do not even prepare their hearts for worship ...many never even heard it preached about...preachers r watering down the Gospel..it is a feel good sermon..or a prosperity sermon...or lets not offend anyone ..oh my I feel I could write a book on this..maybe I need too.....It is all about Jesu.......

  • Amen !!!

  • Superb

  • This is the truth.....I love it...Its powerful

  • Thank you for this video. My church has 'Making Disciples' as the motto of 2012. With your permission I will post this video on our website home page.

  • God Bless You!

  • Great video, but too bad it made it seem as though Christianity has to spread out from the US to the rest of the world...

  • One GREAT video! Nufsaid!

  • But someone spent time making this video, when they could have been out making disciples. Herp de derp.

  • Hey, what an ispiration from God for us in Mexico. I found your page and will keep it forever!.

God Bless you all brothers from Mexico!.

  • wow...hallelujah! Got me shouting

  • it took 2 minutes to convict a soul, but less than a second to commit a sin. Beautiful message. Thanks Kelly! :)

  • This Discipling video is a wonderful reminder of the Church to which we aspire. Many have gotten off track, off message, off mission. We allow ourselves to become distracted, dis-eased, and diseased ... all of which steal our focus on what we need to be about. We need to stand against the forces that set themselves up to be little gods and show the world in contrast a compassionate God who loves every one of us. Thank you for creating and sharing this video.

  • This is a wonderful concept, in theory. Problem is, the Church is no longer about spreading the word; it's about bringing in as much donations as is possible.

Churches don't care about people anymore, really. They talk about loving your neighbor while ignoring their pain.

I went from Church to Church throughout California for 10 years straight, and the end result was always the same -- a building with people devoid of love.

I now stay out of church and worship on my own, at home....

  • @darkridr25 - hey friend, if you want to get in touch with a church of the type you have been looking for - let me know r2beadles at hotmail dot com and I will make contact with my brothers in Cali. Disciples of Jesus who love God, love the Word and love each other are there, my friend! We are by no means perfect, but we strive for obedience to the word and to sharing his love with others as our mission in a very practical personal way

  • @r2beadles obedience to the word? Every word? like this one: Deu 22: 28-29... or this one Lev 19: 27?

  • @DJTripState

    Deu 22:28-29

"If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay her father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives."

I think marrying her for life is better than slitting her throat and burying her in your backyard, or keeping her as a sex slave for 6 years.

    I'm just saying.

  • @BenNiichan Really, I would think that because of the suicide rates among rape victims that weren't forced to marry their rapists is high enough without making it worse. Perhaps you know therapy for the victim and a prison sentence would be more appropriate.... Is that really something you would want for yourself in that situation? I can also assume that forcing a brutal abusive rapist to marry his victim would be like sentencing the victim to a lifetime of repeated rape and torture... good idea

  • @DJTripState We are not under the law anymore. The old testament is over. We are under the new testament. Jesus said we have a new commandment and it is to (love God with all your heart and love your neighbor like you love yourself.) If you do this you fulfill the law. If you are saved the law is written in your hearts. If you truly treat others as if you love them you will not sin against them.

  • @rockhauler1 Then you would be ignoring Matthew 5:17...

  • @DJTripState Not really.Matt. 5:17 says the law is fullfilled as well. You do not understand what i am saying. We are not under the law any more. You cannot please God by doing the law.You cannot be saved by your own merits. No one can keep the law and not fall short.Jesus is clearly pointing out that even the Pahrisees could not keep the law.If you do the law you are sin conscious. To be free from sin is to have a righteous conscious. If you believe on Jesus you will not have an urge to sin anymore.

  • @DJTripState By the way if you read Deut. 22:28 it is not talking about rape in any way it is talking about a man that seduces a woman. It is very clear that the woman was willing and not raped. So your earlier statement is void. And i was not saying in my other reply that we are free to sin but that we are free from sin.But you have to believe Jesus for that.It can be done i live free from all sin now.Im not saying i never sin but i dont have a strong desire to sin as i once did.Read Romans ch7&8.

  • Great point! But this video was made with a particular audience in mind -- the American church. Hence its focus!

  • What song is this?

  • Interesting but a bit naive - this isn't the complete picture of what church is. but quite entertaining anyway

  • 666 likes ... hmmmmmmmm

  • What a dangerous Cult, rescue yourselfs as long as you can!

  • can i just say this is unbelievably awesome :)

  • awesome video!! This is the real church! i just dont think that America is the only country that has the gospel though, but i am sure that you didnt mean it that way.

  • @blackpurlinrussia Please don't make divisions, just disciple the world. Thank you

  • @blackpurlinrussia You probably wrote this to encourage believers in the States, and I applaud that. But i would have to disagree with your sentence about only 'American Christians' being able to change the world. Why categorize? As brothers and sisters, the whole CHURCH has to go out and reach out. Not only 'American Christians'.

  • Comment removed

  • @blackpurlinrussia This is a silly comment. You have the typical American anti-American disease

  • this music drove chills down my spine!

  • this is a great engaging video. i was totally glued to this.

  • This is as it should be..not jus going to a building on Sun..but building a family of disciples everyday anywhere..awe inspiring!

  • Ephesians 5:17

    GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

17 So don’t be foolish, but understand what the Lord wants.

  • This is a video that the whole world should see!

  • O be for real--that's not proper church!

  • love this!

  • WOW! Great stuff. Our team is serving in Moldova trying to spread the vision of discipleship and this is a powerful tool. The Russian version is helpful, and if it would be possible to have a Romanian version that would be a huge help as well. Thanks so much for this creative and moving portrayal of biblical discipleship!

  • What is the name of that song? please

  • @snipershz the music comes from the song "Love" by Jaeson Ma with Bruno Mars' vocals :)

  • @sofffie7 Thank you...

  • Beautiful!

  • Soooooooooooooo easy to criticize the church as it is... and make cute little "if only" animations... anyone can do that! What if our buildings and programs are enabling people to find a place where they can become Christians... and are providing places where people can be equipped for life... that's reality... and its happening! So lets not get rid of everything we have and live in fields just yet!

PS- love the method of crossing the Atlantic!

  • @CTRiow Actual buildings and equipping programs aren't going anywhere any time soon, and I don't think very many people, or even this video maker is calling for that... but having more home groups during the week, and spreading out the burden of leadership, getting people to participate as active members of the body of the church rather than being passively entertained, I think is something that Christians and non-Christians alike crave more than ever as the world moves in the opposite direction.

  • @CTRiow It was not meant to criticize anyone. It was made specifically by the Tshibakas for their message at the Foursquare Connection 2011. It was meant to speak to their own church with conviction about our priorities, not what you should or should not be doing. It says "less" not "don't." And it was a thought provoker said in love not condemnation.

  • anyone felt powerfull feeling and goosebumps

  • hello, I would like to translate the video into German. Who made the film? Can you put me in touch with him?

  • @samueldiekmann the Pastors that made this video have their own youtube channel. You have to search for "this is discipling, this is Church" by the Tshibakas.

  • The salt of the world is supposed to be greatly divided among the world, not together in a building. The Great Commision is outside the Church, not inside like nowadays. Just look at the apostles and how they preached the gospel. Many people are now afraid to go and make disciples. They just stay and wait for people to come to church.

  • very powerful!!

    i am reminded

  • what's this song?

  • where do you find this kind of music?

  • @5625local its stock music

  • Lol at the persecution towards Christians :)) it just makes us Jesus followers believe that we are doing something right to make the world disown us :))

  • love this vid....ready to lauch?????????? am ready....like this if u r ready too

  • Entertainment is the churches last defence. We live in a time where we know a lot of the bible is fiction. Most of the youth that ive know have been straying from a dieing religion to a more philisofical or agnostic standpoint. The bible teaches many good things and has many decent children stories in it but any man with free thought can see its just another book. I believe in god and i feel that its best to enjoy life as much as possible. Be a decent human being thats all anyone can do.

  • can you imagine if the parents actually lived this out with their children, that alone would be a huge impact. otherwise we want the church to watch over our kids, keep them clean or we blame the church when a spouse goes off the reservation. maybe we should simply invest in people intentionally, kind of like Jesus did! B

  • The pastors who made the video have their own youtube page and have been posting other translations including spanish and russian. it won't let me put the link but you can find them by searching "this is discipling, this is church" by the Tshibakas

  • oh god

  • 3 people don't believe in God ..

  • Lovin' this!! Maybe some Conviction to the church will get us Christians to Finally stop this trend of self-service and begin to share the gift of Christ to those in need of it!!!! I'm praying for this ministry and I'm also praying for those whose persecutions make this video all the more relevant to the morality of this and many other countries... Lovin' This, man!

  • truly great question to ask especially in this age where churches reduce time 4 the word and increase time spent on entertainment...when we r to edify

may God help us keep the focus by staying true to his word

  • I have to say that Kelly and Niki don't just "talk the talk." They also "walk the walk." Kelly took the time to get up at 4:30 in the morning to disciple a group of us women at a coffee shop. Then, she went to a full-time job and then came home to a family at night, often opening her home to the "church" at night. And Niki quit a high profile job as an attorney to be our pastor at a pittance. They are true examples of what discipleship should look like. True heart goes into their ministry.

  • why is there so much hate towards this video? i mean you watched it in the first place, i thnik its a good challenge, and a good video.

  • @MrMotoManiac70 get a life!

  • This puts the whole American church at what it is trying to do, but not succeeding.

We need to work harder for God, not attention on ourselves.

  • @stareyepearls I would agree that there are churches that fit this description. God called me to a church that does disciple its members and attenders if they want to taught. It is through activities, such as small group studies. It is also through productions that bring people into the church to hear Christ's message. It is through music that leads one in worship, drama that gets the message across, as well as teaching and preaching.

  • how did you make this video? very good production.

  • Hypocritical church fluff a it's best! What if I use media to convict you for having church? Another typical now generation al gore type telling others they're naughty while they fly around in jets! What if you piss off and do what Jesus said yourself? You do know wj

  • this video is using entertainment to spread a message against using entertainment to spread a message, lol. I think music is a great tool to evangelize, but I do agree that more Christians should go out and talk to people one on one and make disciples.

  • @opivy07 I don't see anything in the video saying entertainment is bad. It only states "if less of... than less of...?" painting a picture of a church that stops putting ALL their focus on entertaining the body of Christ and more on discipling.

  • @JStoryTeller I was sort of kidding, I agree that people should go out and make disciples by just talking to them and loving them.

  • Very true! ..I'm blessed to be a part of Christ's body where this is being lived out! Many studying the bible and one baptized into Christ yesterday!

Mt. 28:18- "Go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you, (including going to make disciples!)..and I will be with you ALWAYS" !

  • LOVE THIS!!!

  • It's what I've been saying for a while now: People need Jesus & we give them church.

  • 1 of my responses to @jrmonarch was cut. Preceding "at this rate," I typed that our church is 30-50 attendees and was hosted in the pastor's house until about 2 years ago, then we began renting. Since then 1 attendee left to church plant, 1 intern left to church plant, 1 young couple left to church plant. B/c w'r small, fixed expenses are like rent, wage, & utilities will be relatively large. We'll remain small because we keep sending out church-plants.

  • @OuLuYang What if we are MEANT to be small? Like the early church. And what if we are not meant to have rent, wages and utilities? Like the early church. And what if your dinner table became a church plant? Among your neighbours. Like the early church. What if that's the Lord's strategy to reach your street, your city, your nation? What if?

  • We don't spend many hours at church mtgs b/c ppl blow these off. No official bible study: that's left up to the lighthouses. However, a regular practice at church service is to split into groups of "people whom you don't know" (in order to build new relationships that eventually become "time with believers"), talk about the week's spiritual issues, and relate that to the text of the bible. Spiritual multitasking. Thus sum of all this might be 10 hrs/week, versus 70hrs/wk spent with nonbelievers.

  • @jrmonarch At this rate, we'll never be a big church and so the pastor's wages and the price of renting our main space will remain the biggest line-items on our budget.

We're surrounded by non-believers 24/7, and the amount of engagement with non-believers varies from attendee to attendee. Occasionally an attendee will bring a non-believer to church, and like spiders to the fly, we use hospitality to lure them into our web of CHRISTIAN LOVE. bwahahahahaha!

  • @jrmonarch Today our children's ministry only costs volunteers' time; whatever we spent several years ago to acquire the Kingdom Kids bible-study curriculum and associated puppets. We don't do wednesday potlucks, but I think that's a good idea because it costs the church nothing if people bring their own dishes, and dinner is a great bonding experience. Instead we do "lighthouses" as you saw in the video, where people meet for fellowship and discipling. Some lighthouses serve dinner, others dont

  • You got it! We're in the process of doing a Spanish version as well! Blessings to you!

  • @kjtshibaka

Thanks for taking the feedback. I guess we all need to realise that videos on youtube will reach beyond our denominations and hopefully work for a united kingdom of God rather than a divided denominational one! Plus I am sure within your churches are a multitude of nationalities! I would love a version in Spanish please, as I am ministering in Peru!

  • Great video -- a message that can transform church into the powerhouse God intends for it to be.

  • I think this video is great. A very engaging way of getting the message out about discipleship being the core of church life and growth (in depth and numbers).

My only criticism is that when the 'launch' animation comes up the light goes from the USA to the rest of the world; a very ethnocentric mistake! There are people now being 'launched' from the majority world go to Europe and the States where Church life is in actually in decline... it should be from all places to all places...

  • @sharonj77

Hi there! This is the producer of the video here! Thank you so much for your very insightful comment! Good point!!! My wife and I will consider it. The reason we did it the way we did is because we prepared it for our denomination -- the U.S. Foursquare Church. So, it was a call for the members of our denomination in the U.S. to redouble our efforts at making disciples. If we want others to use it, though, we may want to consider reworking that piece. Thanks for that insight!

  • Looks a lot like "The Forgotten Ways" by Alan Hirsch

  • Great lesson in life

  • what song

  • powerful

  • this is a great message for all churches! most of the time we think that having fun programs would draw people to Christ.sometimes it's just empty! Yes, God uses those things but still it's in power on the saving grace and the blood of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit that convicts sinners to repentance.

  • wheres the part where you dont let gay people get married?

  • @MANAUIAkioku Ridiculous comment. It's not the church's business to decide this in the first place, since it has no power over the civil arena. Secondly, since when do gay people who are objecting to God's authority care what happens in a church. Why should you seek for approval from a church? What you actually want is for people to tell you that it's fine for you to practice homosexuality. Why should that it be important to you? THAT's the REAL question.

  • @franceseattle LOL. why is homosexuality important to people? are you a fucking retard? OH OH if i have a dick and the person i love has a vagina thats important to people. but if i love someone with a dick OH SHIT! THATS SO DIFFERENT, OBVIOUSLY A GOD WHO CREATED THE UINIVERSE GIVES A FUCK IF SOMEONE WANTS TO SUCK ON A COCK! HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHHAHA you are insane

  • @MANAUIAkioku You obviously don't have any serious point to make. Since you do not believe in God, why are you even involved in this discussion? Homosexuality isn't important to people, it's evidently all that matters to YOU! That fact is what makes you an unbalanced person. Apparently good manners and civilized discourse don't matter to you. I repeat, sin is what separates us from God, most importantly, sin which is not confessed and forgiven. Homosexuality is merely one of the sins.

  • @franceseattle how are you so sure that god exists to begin with? hes making you hate people who just trying express their love for eachother, but a "loving" god wants you to call them sinners and take away their civil rights.

also, you do know that if god is everything. that means hes rape, murder, and torture too. you know its also a possibility that humans just couldn't explain things, so they made up god to explain it for them

  • You claim that God makes me hate people. Not true. I am a total sinner myself. Do I hate myself? I don't believe you understand what sin is and what it means. Every human being is a sinner. Christians do not hate people because they are sinners. And certainly I do not hate homosexuals. And no one is taking any "rights" away from homosexuals. They have always had the same rights as everyone else.

  • @MANAUIAkioku What homosexuals these days actually WANT are special rights based on their sexual preferences. This is not a "right". It is not a right that homosexuals have EVER had. What you want is to change society in a way that you imagine will make you feel better about your choices. My point is that no one can make you feel better about your choices. You have to do that for yourself. If your choices are so wonderful, why do you need approbation from others?

  • @franceseattle Excellent response!

  • @MANAUIAkioku I never said that God is everything. God is the creator of the universe, and of mankind. However, mankind has free will to make choices, either to obey God or to act as if he himself is god. God, according to the bible, is righteousness, perfection, holiness, beauty, truth, wisdom, justice and mercy. This is not the same as saying that God is everything. That viewpoint is more reflective of Hinduism. I have responded to you in love, and I pray that you will seek and find God.

  • amazing..

  • I have had a look at the other Foursquare stuff, and you seem pretty fixated on the identity and prestige of your church. This clip makes the very old mistake of assuming that all the hard work of maintaining church structures, equipping ministries etc is easily divorced from the front line mission work. It isn't: it is all one work.

  • @inclusivechrist While I do somewhat agree with you, I believe the video means 'less like' how it says it. Structures are good and events are good, but when we get caught up in trying to match what everyone else is doing, e.g., having coffee bars and light shows on a Sunday morning we completely put the focus on church and us, when instead it should be on Christ and maturing ourselves and others in Him. I fully believe in a lifestyle system that actively disciples new and mature converts.

  • Simple yet profound! Thanks for this, we are going to use it at one of out gatherings.

  • I appreciate the rather easy-going counterfactual thinking presented here, which juxtaposes the reality of an "empty way of life handed down to us from our ancestors" against a hypothetical "better experience" of His love so that we may be encouraged to "spur one another on toward love and good deeds."

To be a driver of affective reactions, is it possible for your team "to show" an alternate version based upon the "hard teachings" of Jesus Christ?

For example, the animation ends with, "This I

  • You are right, I was a bit too blunt and this is a really well done video. My apologies - post removed. Now get off the computer and go out and disciple.

  • @BoatAshoreMinistry

You can bring people in using computers sir!

  • Thank you so much for the creative and biblical reminder of what our mission is. Thank you especially for reminding us without using judgment, criticism, or guilt; which are death to loving relationships and have no place in the kingdom of God.

  • @joshuacarden

Hey man! Thanks so much for commenting on the video! We are so excited that it is resonating with people. It was worth the effort! We should catch up sometime soon. You keeping in touch with anyone from Blackstone?

  • @kjtshibaka blackstone the investment group?

  • Comment removed

  • @BoatAshoreMinistry be the change you wish to see in the world.

also, and this is by no means an attack on you, but who is to say that this person isn't doing this to the best of their ability. We're supposed to build each other up and encourage one another and point each other in the right direction, which is all a part of discipleship, don't you think? and that's exactly what this video is all about.

  • So true!

  • Right On

  • God bless you for making this vedio really its true and excellent message. <3 it

  • Such a great video!....totally true!
