I was born in Portland, OR and lived there at the very end of the SP&S era as it merged into the BN. This layout captures the 'feel' of that time. Kent has done a great job on this layout, but what impresses me the most is knowing that it is N scale, but never seeing the "train wiggling" that is so often associated with N. He clearly took some time with the trackwork to make it so smooth.

I'm impressed the background- most people aim for hyper-realism, but the looser, more impressionist style works very nicely! Like a painting that's come to life.
