  • I love it

  • wow very touching..

  • are you really deaf

  • nice voice

  • niceeee fantastic

  • Fantastic! Great work.

  • I find those who speak the English language often misunderstand and assume. Often people don't listen very well, but speak too often when they should be listening. Or they are thinking about what they want to say instead of listening.

Assumptions and misunderstandings are even more greatly occurring online in text like this. I find often I need to write a paragraph to give a sentence context.

So I like to do it in video, where they listen for several minutes and get perspective. But not always.

  • Bravo!

    Thank You.

  • wow, thats a great story :)

  • Great vid! 5/5

  • wow it's amazing that some ppl are just not aware of embarrassment. It's like they need to actually realize a lot and grow a lot before they will be smart enough to know that they should be embarrassed and so not say anything instead.

On the other hand, those who are critical of others often live in their own version of an insecure hell, where the torments put on them by others bounce around in their being, and they prefer to blame it on others instead of hear it about themselves. Love yourself!

  • GAY!

  • The thing I hate about YouTube is all the moronic comments from cynics. Why not just move on if you don't enjoy or value something. What's the point of all the negative energy? Maybe these come from people who have no meaning in their own lives, no depth with which to appreciate an act of creation / art / beauty. Pity them!

  • Well done!

    *****

  • this is teribble i'm going home bye. GAY GAY GAY.

  • Wow, this video nearly made me cry. Its very good. And inspiring. 5/5 and faves.

  • Lol nice video.. x_x; Barbies are fucking at 0.45 LOL

  • No, no, they're making love...

  • ur pretty observant u perv. lol.

  • its a very nice video, i love it =]

  • Is she retarded?

  • Why is there subtitles?

  • They made it first without subtitles. Then lots of people pointed out that deaf people wouldn't get it. You'll notice it is about a deaf person (the actor is not deaf, and is not playing the guitar - it's a made-up story).

So it was pretty weird they hadn't thought of this, while telling us to care about the deaf.

  • I don't know, it's not necessarily telling us to care about the deaf

  • Nice video. Very inspiring.

  • nice video, its good for you to not let the little things like that bother you, you will still live your life hapilly. way to go

  • AHHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA CHECK OUT DAD and MUM @ 0.45

  • What?....Speak up !

  • This video is fantastic:)!

  • nicely put together!!!

  • quite nice :) nice camera angles

  • What a great impact, the story of this vid is just so stunning to watch. Beautiful!

  • ps very very hot as well

  • this was very very beautiful video reach to my heart stay strong tina

  • very cool

  • Awsome Vid

  • i'm not sympathetic

wow you're deaf and you play guitar

    ever hear of beethoven?

i suppose if i was a blind painter that would be something huh? well i don't think so

i think there are enough bleeding hearts in the world

    get a job

or get behind a real cause

  • i understand where your coming from but ur being mean... you will never understand what someone goes through unless you experience what that have

  • I agree to some extent. This is entirely a staged fantasy and is not about a real person.

It's great that there are so many soft-hearted people in the world. I'm sure you or I could make a clip about a lost teddy bear being found by a cripple and returned to its wealthy family. It would get thousands of hits, yet nothing would change for those who really need compassion and are in real agony. Let those who submitted tell us what unusually kind things they have DONE since seeing this video.

  • Right on. I know you'll get slams for spoiling people's feel good fantasies, but the planet has kinda run out of time for grown-ups who still want to play children games of Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice. Even a smile at someone else walking down the street who looks like they need it more worthwhile than another video imagining niceness. What a NOTHING impact.

  • that was beautiful is any1 here deaf

  • there's no1 deaf in the video - it's make believe.

  • I am so inlove with Breanna Anthopoulos right now. This was a brilliant film. Your should enter tropfest with outstanding exaple of a short film. Well done.

  • nice vid.

  • Beautiful!

  • Inspirational! What a truly wonderful short film! I really enjoyed it. Congratulations to all involved!

  • Wow this vid is still strong dont warry about them mofo,s thay just carnt come to grips with the fact of how moveing this film is and yer what ever makes you happy :) but yer hideing it can be good in some ways (im not ya mum and dad)

  • sad lol hope ya band gets big lol

  • that was sooo beautiful i got goosebumps :)

    gr8 work :)

    xx

  • I was touched by the fragility of a young child coming to grips with a handicap in her life, and proud of that handicap living each day making her music - where a lot of others would break mentaly if one of their cences were lost. Thank you for making this a moment I will remember in your brilliance ;-)

  • that is soo sad cry cry

  • i'm deaf and i don't care....i liked very much this video, great video

  • ur all fkn fagotz!!!

  • i hav a 20% hearing loss in both my ears a couple of years ago i had surgery in 1 of my ear to help impove my hearing

i no how frustrating it can be but people dont really understand what is wring wiht u unless u tell them

im a normal person like every one eles im just not doign 2 well at school because i cant always understand wha the teacher is saying altho i dont realise this is becasue i cant hear them

  • nice

  • beautiful!

  • absolutely amazing

  • that was more than great , I absolutely love it , god be with you any where you go .

  • peples im talkin bout the music itself, not the others reaction not the vibration, but the sound. thats wat music is. if she likes doing sumthin difficult that others enjoy then fine. alls im saying is that she gets no enjoymentr in making the music herself cause she cant hear it. if she was born deaf then she dosent evan know wat music is. but good on her for bringing enjoyment to others

  • That was beautiful :)

  • Lol made my cry :(

  • I LOVE U HONEY!

  • that was a great video good job!

  • Honey, Come and visit nimibirla channel you will forget everything, the whole world. We love you.

  • Ladies and Gentlemen ...

Try being deaf for the first 18 years of your life, then tell us if listening to music is the whole point of music ...

  • That was really awesome!!!!

  • What an excellent message,...

  • great video, just out of curiosity, would she get the same enjoyment by listening with her eyes

  • Fuck off philum. You're trying to be metaphoric and poetic. You narcissistic belearguerer.

  • you are a dumbass.wat is the point of music when u cant hear it

  • You don't even know how to spell your name. That's why you have written, Philum.

(I'll write my name for my YouTube username, p-h-i-l... um, how do you spell it? Oh, I'll just write phil-um.)

Bet you've never been shut down that good before. - SlimShady0001, the shut down king!

  • sik one

  • that was the shittest shut down iv ever herd but the guy is a moronic jerk with the intellectual capasity of a dead ferret

  • Your the dumbarse, you dont need to be able to hear the music to enjoy it

  • hearing is the whole point of music, how can she enjoy the music she is making, its just pulling on strings

  • but thats what im saying, hearing the music isnt the whole point of music.

  • pulling on strings is not music, its the sound it produces thats y u listen to music not feel it

  • yeah but she is the one playing the guitar, to the audience the music is just sound and hearing it is everything but to the people playing it its not just that.

  • im talkin bout wheather the GIRL gets the same enjoyment out of music she cant hear. u just proved my point that if u r deaf there is no point in music

  • I accidentally clicked 'remove' on your last comment instead of reply.

I'm wondering if you've considered that people find pleasure in making others happy or attaining skill under difficult circumstances, or maybe in proving something to themselves and others. Maybe some 'hearing people' who play music don't do it to listen to the music but for the aforementioned reasons.

  • Well obviously philum you're wrong. Because Tina is deaf and she enjoys playing music enough to start a band.

    I wonder if she's synaesthetic

  • Oh, and it was a beautiful video. Thank you for making it.

  • Obviously you are not all that old to understand. But anyway, you can still feel the beat even if you can't hear.

  • Yo Kid, you're beautiful

  • Excellent, very well thought out, great achievement!! Well done Tina!!

  • That was Awesome :)

    Good job.

  • Quite remarkable! I think the idea was amazing,,,

Me encanto el video, demasiado increible y creo que tienes mucho potencial.

  • speechless....No-one has eer put that kind of twist on " If a tree falls int he forest and no-ones arund, doe sit make sound" before, apart from that, i think this is, really no-way to describe it- very inspriational at the least. Enter in a short film contest!

If no-one sees the light reflecting off the outside of my house, does it mean i'm not inside it- that it doesn't exist?

Great Job on the video :) Thumbs Up!

  • omgosh- sorry about the spelling!! *Ever* *in the* *around* *does it* *a* *Enter it*

  • A beautiful and insightful video. Great job.

  • nice

  • yawnn...

  • boring

  • Ugh to all the people out there who want to flame this video and make stupid comments about it im sure you are in a worser possition in your life if you think putting other poeple down makes you happy...

I thought this was a great video it was the first fearured video i have ever seen so its the best on at that.

  • I agree

  • Great video.....but is Tina real?

  • did you play the soundtrack to this video?

  • told myself i would look at one popular video a day, i'm glad I chose yours

  • Hey Tina vid is great! Pardon the question but would you happen to be Australian? I myself am Aussie and I'm pretty sure you are too. Yeah weird but thx for vid, was gret :)

  • if you new how to use you eyes you could tell she was aussie by the money, fucking wankers

  • At least ur not blind. Stop whinging.

  • You insensitive prick.

  • :`)

  • if a tree falls and no ones there but a sound recorder. does it make a sound?

    yes!

    does that work?

  • bullshit

without ears i would be dead 50 times over living life how i do...it limits you

  • wow made me appreciate my ears alot tina your a legend

  • aaaah u guys im deaf and i do back for fun is tina cooler then me.... aks ur self that is tina cooler than hanaf1..

  • this is a really nice video it touched me alot! if you are deaf, goodluck with your life and dont let people make fun of you.

  • I respect your ambition, your outlook on life and your ideas on the presence of sound. However your overlooking a serious element which lies embeded music, although you can play the guitar, and feel the sound as you put it, tonality and your ability to truly react, improvise and interpret music will forever be hinderd. This may not be a bad thing, but i thought it needed to be considerd.

  • I appreciate that you say this in a polite way Marcus, but your statement is only true if your definition of music is confined to those parameters. I would argue that improvisation and interpretation are not limited to hearing musicians. I am sure that you would agree that you hear a song in a much different way to the way I hear it, and this is what makes music so amazing! I don't mean to have a go at you, you just sparked a thought in my head, thats all.

  • are you really deaf?

    A great video.

  • If a tree falls in a forest and no one posts the video, did it really happen..?

  • the tree happened but the video didnt... DUH!

  • She not stupid.... I think ur stupid!

  • I'd like to reproduce with 'Tina'.

  • wher you at? perth?

  • maybe your a fuckin idiot

  • awesome work,,, really nice n' touching !!! well done

  • This is like that video about the blind painter.

  • Very different and unique

  • great video well done!

  • Excellent, most enjoyable. Thank you.

  • I think this is very amazing video, with an implicit moral message. however, I don't like the music. it seems to make the story a bit scary. you need to work on the music there, mate. but, overall... two thumbs up!

  • Hey, are you the Tina that I ran over in St.Kilfa Rd last year??

  • love it. provides a sence of philosophy for life.

  • weird

  • i dont get it

  • You're stupid.

  • i think this girl can hear, why does she have such a strong aussie accent if she cant hear the accent? if i am wrong, well my bad

  • That was really something nice. How old are you?

  • I actually thought this wasnt serious at the beginning because you speak perfectly.

    You're hot too

  • BLOODY BRILLIANT!!!

I also live in Australia, But in Alice Springs,

    Where Was All This Set?

  • It's set in Sydney

  • bloody boring art-house shyte!

  • dayummmm ur agun CALL ME :P :)excellent vid

  • hi tina..ilove ur video very inspiring,...ur so prity,..how i wish i cud get along with u someday=)

  • hi tina..ilove ur video very inspiring,...ur so prity,..how i wish i cud get along with u someday=)

  • why does she wear a set of headfones??

  • because she is trying to pretend that she's not deaf, she doesn't hear anything with the headfones but with it she looks more like a person with all their senses.

  • She might be using it to disguise that she's deaf. Although, it's also a good way to let people know that you can't hear them.

The driver was more considerate when stopping due to the headphones. Had she not worn them they might have assumed that she'd hear the car and stop which would've been fatal.

Although, it's not uncommon to "look" before you cross the road :-P

    Tim.

  • Awesome :)

I really like how this was put together.

    Great job, it's really amazing!

I really like how this was put together.

    Great job, it's really amazing!

  • i liked it the first time...now i just find myself watching more to hear her accent...

  • I love the Aussie accent. I dunno why, it just... ooooh. =)

  • Very well put, I like how it was done. Good Job

  • i like how that was all done

  • i like the voice

  • fantastic :-) 5*

now deaf ppl can watch it! this was a great idea :-)

  • This hit me where it counts. Im actually hard of hearing myself, almost deaf. People would never know unless they know what to look for. and I dont tell them unless they ask. Great video.

  • pure amazing

  • what kind of accent is that?

  • an australian accent. possibly a touch of greek-australian, but maybe not. :-)

  • i like her accent

  • What accent is that?

  • It's an Aussie accent; you can tell by how she says certain words, like "don't," "Barbies," "most," "notes," etc. A lot of people confuse it with English for some reason, but if you listen, they are easily distinguishable... The Aussie "o," for one, sounds markedly different.

  • Well done Professor Higgins!

  • good idea putting in subtitles

  • thanks...Cool Video I've ever seen !

  • Nice moving story

  • whats the difference betwen this and the other one?

  • the subtitles.

  • and it says its captioned

    theres no difference besides that

  • and it says its captioned

    theres no difference besides that

  • Wow that was nice

  • Very well done with a good message. Great video.

  • That was a really moving piece of film!!

  • we certainly have a way of lying to ourselves. i like how, as the video goes on, the images belie what she says.

disabilities are not at all shameful, except to the vain.
